<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Watch movement with toggle winding mechanism The object of the present invention is a watch movement with a toggle winding and time setting mechanism, in which the winding and time setting stem controls the Switches via a pull tab and pull tab spring. In the rocker winding mechanisms with which certain watches are equipped, said rocker carries three moving parts in engagement with one another. One of these mobiles, mounted coaxially with the lever, is engaged with a winding pinion, itself mounted on the winding stem.
This mobile simultaneously drives the other two mobiles mounted on the rocker and taking the place of references. Usually, the mechanism further comprises a pull tab pivoting under the effect of the axial movements of the winding rod and a rocker spring, intended to keep the lever in contact with the pull tab, so that it pivots at the same time as the lever. pull tab. When the winding stem is brought into the time-setting position, one of the references of the lever, in. taken with the central mobile, engages with a. timer return or possibly with the timer wheel, while the other return, mounted on the rocker, is engaged with the ratchet wheel, when the winding stem is in the winding position.
Said rocker is housed, in principle, in a housing made in the plate of the movement on the dial side. As for the ratchet wheel, it is placed between the barrel and the plate, in a recess of the latter, made on the bridge side. Between the lever and the dial, a pull-tab spring screwed to the plate and taking the place of the mechanism bridge is generally placed, this spring comprising an elastic arm provided with two notches. The function of this arm is to immobilize the mechanism in the two winding and time-setting positions.
For this, each of the two notches engages, in one of said positions, on a tenon integral with the pull tab. The usual toggle winding and time-setting mechanisms therefore include four distinct parts: a lever, a pull tab, a toggle spring and a pull tab spring serving as the mechanism bridge.
The object of the present invention is to simplify the manufacture and the assembly of the rocking mechanism, by reducing the number of parts required. For this, the zipper spring came from manufacture with the zipper.
An embodiment of the watch movement forming the subject of the present invention is shown, by way of example, in the single figure of the appended drawing, which is a plan view, on the dial side, of part of said movement. .
The movement shown in the drawing comprises a plate 1 in a housing 2 of which is placed a lever 3 pivoted on said plate by means of a core (not shown) and a screw 4. Said core is first engaged in an opening of the lever, then in a central mobile 5. The screw 4 fixes the said core to the plate 1, so that the lever and the central mobile are trapped between the core and the plate 1 of the movement with a sufficient span so that 'they can rotate freely. The central mobile is driven by a winding pinion (not shown), which is wedged on a square 6 of the winding stem 7.
On this rocker are still mounted two references 8 and 9, pivoted on. of. tenons and 11, connected to the rocker. Return 8 can mesh with a wheel
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
ratchet 22, while the return 9 can mesh with a timer wheel 24. Each. of these references 8 and 9 is engaged with the mobile 5. The lever further comprises a narrow and elongated part 12, forming an elastic arm and terminating in a bulge 13, and a finger 14 consisting of an elongated part and thin, able to flex elastically, in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the rocker.
The mechanism further comprises a pull tab 15 consisting exclusively of a cut and stamped plate and a tenon 16 on which said plate is mounted, this tenon forming the axis of rotation of said pull tab. This has a thin, elastic arm 17 which ends with a wider part provided with two notches 18 and 19. This elastic arm forms the pull-tab spring. Another part of said pull tab has a spout 20, the end of which is bent at right angles. Finally, between the tenon 16 and the arm 17 is a horn 21, the function of which will be explained below.
The mechanism constituted by the lever 3 and the zipper 15 is assembled as follows. First of all, the zipper 15 is placed in the housing 2 of the plate so that the tenon 16 engages in a drilled hole through the frame of the movement, that is to say through the plate and the bridges mounted on this plate. During this positioning, the notch 18 of the pull-tab spring 17 comes to rest against a tenon 23 integral with the plate and forming the axis of rotation of a mobile consisting of a timer wheel 24, which is then put into place. place on the stud 23.
Then the rocker 3, on which the references 8 and 9 are mounted, is put in place with the central mobile 5 and fixed by means of the screw 4.
Once the lever is in place, it is possible to engage the winding rod 7 in its housing. This has a groove 25 delimited, on the side of the internal end of the rod, by a collar 26 having a frustoconical face 27, open in the direction of the groove 25. When pushing the winding rod 7 into its housing , the bent part of the spout 20 rises by sliding along the inclined surface 27 of the flange 26 and the finger 14 of the lever flexes elastically. When the collar 26 has passed entirely under the beak 20, the latter falls into the groove 25 under the action of the finger 14 of the lever 3. It then traps the winding rod 7.
This finger 14 therefore maintains the beak 20 engaged in the groove 25 of the winding stem 7, which has the effect not only of retaining the stem in the movement, but of making said beak axially integral with the stem, so that the zipper 15 pivots when the rod 7 moves axially. The tenon 11, on which the reference 9 is mounted, engages next to the horn 21 of the zipper, while the part of the lever in which this tenon is engaged, comes to be placed above this horn, and -that the elastic arm 12, the end 13 of which comes to bear against the edge of the housing 2, covers the elastic arm 17 of the pull tab.
The rocker 3 therefore holds the zipper in place; it thus fulfills the functions of the mechanism bridge.
Once in place, the mechanism described operates as follows In the winding position, shown in solid lines, the winding stem 7 is pressed into the movement, the notch 18 is engaged on the tenon 24, the spring rocker 12 is relaxed and the return 8 is engaged with the ratchet wheel 22.
If, now, the winding stem 7 is pulled to bring it into the time-setting position, the zipper, driven by its beak 20 with the winding stem 7, pivots around the tenon 16. The horn 21 pushes the rocker 3 and rotates it around the screw 4, so that the return 8 moves away from the ratchet wheel 21 and the return 9 engages the timer wheel 24. At the same time, the notch 19 of the pull-tab spring engages on tenon 23 and the rocker spring tightens. The parts of the mechanism described then occupy the positions shown in phantom in the drawing.
When the winding stem 7 is pushed back into the winding position, the zipper pivots around its tenon 16 and the lever 3 is pushed into the winding position by the release of the rocker spring 13.
To take the rod out of the movement, it. It suffices to push the tenon 16 so as to lift the zipper 15 from its position. The elastic finger 14 flexes until the folded part of the beak 20 comes out of the groove 25. At this time, the winding stem is released.
The mechanism described is therefore capable of fulfilling all the functions of a winding and time-setting mechanism. It essentially consists of two parts, the zipper 15 and the lever 3, both made by cutting and bending thin plates.
