Twist projectile detonator The invention relates to an improvement of the twist projectile detonator described in the main patent, and specifically it serves the purpose of improving the safety device for the detonator. It has already been proposed by the inventor to provide a time control to improve the detonator safety, in such a way that this detonator time control is in operative connection with a gear element whose task is to control a locking bolt for the ignition needle. This gear element in turn is controlled by a rack and pinion bolt that engages in a toothed element of the fuse drive.
The present invention solves the same problem with simpler means, in that the time control for the detonator fuse is derived directly from the aforementioned rack and pinion.
The invention is explained in more detail in the following description with reference to the illustrated embodiment.
The following are shown, omitting the components not required for understanding the invention: FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section of the detonator along the section plane 1-I through FIG. 2, FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the detonator according to FIG. 1 along section plane II -Il, Fig. 3 shows a cross section through the igniter of Fig. 1 according to the section plane 111-11I.
For a better understanding of the invention, it should be said in advance that a collar (not shown) is provided on the ignition needle 13 to secure the ignition needle 13 for a predetermined time (the so-called mask safety time), under which the ignition needle locking bar 39 with its radially inwardly directed Arm grabs. The bolt 39 is pivotably mounted on the pin 28. On the underside of the bolt 39, an arm 39b is provided which, through openings in the plates lying in between, engages as far as a control pin 38 which is attached to the upper side of the lever 100. The lever 100 is mounted pivotably about the pin 101 and has the arms 100a and 100b '.
The arm 100a on which the pin 38 is arranged has the greater mass and is located in relation to the axis of rotation of the detonator in such a way that when the projectile rotates, a torque acts in the direction of the periphery of the detonator, that is to say a torque in the opposite direction in FIG the clock hand. The arm 39b of the bolt 39 rests laterally on the pin 38, seen from its rear side in the direction of movement of the pin 38 after the end of the time backup. The tip of the arm 100b ′ of the double lever 100 rests laterally on the flyweight 102, which is riveted onto the rack 104.
The rack 104 engages in the toothing of the pinion 23 belonging to the time backup drive and corresponding slideways are provided in the plates to guide it. The length of the lateral support surface on the weight 102 corresponds to the predetermined time safety distance and at the end of the support surface the lever tip 100b 'can fall off and the lever 100 can rotate. The rotation takes place, as mentioned, counterclockwise, under the effect of the torque acting on the lever 100 itself (its arm 100a is heavier than the arm 100b) and also under the effect of the centrifugal torque acting on the ring 39 in the same direction .
While in the design according to the main patent the safety slide for the detonator is now uncontrolled, in other words only under the effect of back pressure and friction during the acceleration phase of the device
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The projectile remains in its safety position and leaves it as soon as the projectile has left the barrel, a time control for the detonator safety slide is derived from the lever 100 in a previous improvement of this construction.
The present invention again departs from this construction and derives the timing for the detonator fuse element directly from the rack flybolt 102/104. In detail, the rotor 303 serves to block the fire channel 300 between the detonator 301 to be struck by the ignition needle 13 and a tetryl detonator 302; it is mounted on the shaft 304 and provided with a bore in which a heavy metal insert 305 is housed, such that the centrifugal force acting during the rotation of the bullet turns the rotor so far that the detonator 301 gets under the tip of the ignition needle.
In order to determine the end position precisely, a stop surface is attached to the rotor and a stop pin 306 is attached to a stationary plate.
In the rotor 303, a blind hole 303b is also made, which (Fig.l) is in the rest position of the functional parts under the ignition needle tip, for the purpose of intercepting the ignition needle and twisting it with the rotor if the bullet accidentally fall on its tip and the ignition needle 13 should be punched through.
In contrast to the earlier proposal, the rotor is not controlled by the centrifugal lever 100, but directly by the rack and pinion bolts 102, 104. It is provided on its weight part 102 with a lateral recess or gate 102a into which the rounded end 307a of the control lever 307 engages in such a way that the flybolt 102, 104, which goes outward when the timer is running, transfers the lever 307 to the position shown in broken lines in FIG. 2.
The control lever 307 is firmly keyed to the shaft 308, which is mounted in plates of the detonator and has a side milling 308a at its lower end. This milling acts as a locking surface with the locking pin 309 on the rotor 303 such that in the locking position (Figs. 1 and 3) the locking surface is in front of the pin 309 in the direction of rotation of the rotor, while in the unlocking position (cf. 1 and 3, the parts 308 and 308a drawn in broken lines) lets the pin 309 by.
The interaction of the functional parts is as follows: When the flybolt 1021104 has reached its outer position after the predetermined time securing distance has elapsed, not only does the lever 100 with its lever arm 100b 'lose its support on the flyweight 102, whereby the firing needle safety bolt 39 is released, it Rather, the control lever 307 is also moved into a position (see FIG. 2, broken lines) in which the side milling 308a (FIG. 3) on the locking shaft 308 can let the locking pin 309 on the rotor 303 pass.
The centrifugal force acting on the heavy metal insert 305 is then able to turn the rotor clockwise in such a way that the detonator 301 is moved into the center of the fuse, that is to say below the tip of the ignition needle 13. The end position of the rotor 303 is determined by the stop of the lateral surface 303a of the rotor on the stop pin 306.
In the case of a projectile with a detonator according to the present invention, unwanted ignition could occur if the detonator head together with the clockwork and the detonating needle were torn off from the lower part, i.e. from the detonator base and the projectile into which it is screwed. In order to create a safeguard against this, the securing bolt 310 is embedded in a transverse bore in the fuse base; it has an opening for the passage of the ignition needle 13, which in the rest position already protrudes with the tip into this interruption.
The pin 311 is attached to the detonator head in such a way that it protrudes from the bottom of the detonator head and engages in the transverse bore for the bolt 310 so that in the rest position (FIG. 1) it is directly behind the bolt 310 and prevents it from escaping . If the detonator head is torn off the projectile by any accident, the pin 311 goes away with the head and releases the bolt 310. Since the ignition needle 13 was also removed from the igniter base with the igniter head, the bolt 310 can escape unhindered. The rotor 303 has been unlocked because the locking shaft 308, 308a is located in the detonator head that has been torn away.
There would now be the risk that the detonator 301 would be ignited by the air stagnation or foreign bodies. Thanks to the fuse 310, this can no longer happen because it covers the detonator 301. Of course, all features of the claim of the main patent are also present in the example described.
