Chaise pliante utilisable comme fauteuil et comme chaise-longue La présente invention a pour objet une chaise pliante, utilisable comme fauteuil et comme chaise longue, et susceptible d'être repliée sous un faible volume.
Cette chaise est caractérisée par un, grand et un petit cadre rectangulaires, parallèles entre eux et montés de manière à pouvoir basculer entre deux cadres latéraux en forme de trapèze, prenant appui sur le sol et perpendiculaires aux deux premiers cadres, dont l'un est articulé par son extrémité supé rieure et l'autre par un point intermédiaire à des éléments supérieurs constituant les accoudoirs des cadres latéraux, par deux barres articulées aux ex trémités inférieures desdits premiers cadres, par une bande de tissu formant à la fois siège et dossier, fixée, d'une part, à la traverse supérieure du grand cadre et, d'autre part,
à la traverse supérieure du petit cadre, chaque cadre latéral comprenant une barre d'entretoisement articulée aux deux barres opposées constituant les jambes de la chaise, les quelles sont à leur tour articulées à l'accoudoir, la barre inférieure des cadres latéraux étant articulée à l'une des jambes et accrochée à l'autre jambe, de façon à permettre, après décrochage, le pliage de la chaise.
Le dessin ci-annexé montre, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de la chaise selon l'invention. La fig. 1 représente en élévation et vue de côté la chaise en position d'emploi comme fauteuil.
La fig. 2 est une vue analogue montrant la chaise dans sa position la plus allongée.
La fig. 3 représente la chaise repliée, prête à être remisée. La chaise représentée au dessin comprend un grand cadre formé de deux longerons 1 parallèles, reliés à leurs extrémités par deux traverses 14, 14'.
Ce cadre est supporté, de manière à pouvoir bascu ler autour d'un axe horizontal; parallèle aux traver ses, par deux cadres latéraux constitués chacun par les pièces suivantes : un accoudoir 2, deux jambes 3 et 4 dont les extrémités supérieures sont articulées aux extrémités de l'accoudoir 2, une première barre 5, articulée par ses extrémités en deux points inter médiaires des jambes 3 et 4 et formant avec ces der nières et l'accoudoir un quadrilatère articulé,
et une deuxième barre 8 articulée par l'une de ses extr6mi- tés à la jambe arrière 4, tandis que son autre extré mité est accrochée en 9 à la jambe 3. Les pièces 2, 3, 4 et 8 forment un trapèze qui est indéforma- ble lorsque la barre 8 est accrochée à la jambe 3, grâce à la présence de la barre 5.
L'axe d'articula tion 18 des pièces 2 et 4 constitue en même temps l'axe de basculement du cadre susmentionné.
Les deux cadres latéraux sont reliés l'un à l'au tre pour former un ensemble indéformable par des traverses 13 et 17 assemblant les deux jambes anté rieures 3, par un croisillon 10 assemblant les jambes postérieures 4, et par des traverses reliant les points d'articulation 20 et 21 de la jambe 4 aux, points correspondants de l'autre jambe.
L'axe d'articulation 19 des pièces 2 et 3 sup porte également l'extrémité supérieure de deux lon gerons basculants 7 dont l'extrémité inférieure de chacune est articulée en un point intermédiaire d'une barre 6 dont l'extrémité postérieure est articulée à l'extrémité inférieure du longeron 1. Les pièces 1, 2, 6 et 7 forment ensemble un parallélogramme, arti culé. Les deux longerons 7 sont reliés entre eux par des traverses 15, 15' et 15", le tout formant un petit cadre parallèle au grand cadre présentant les longe rons 1.
Sur la traverse supérieure 15 est fixée l'une des extrémités d'une bande de tissu 11 dont l'autre extrémité est fixée à la traverse supérieure 14 du grand cadre. Cette bande de tissu forme à la fois le siège et le dossier de la chaise. Sur le tronçon de chaque barre 6 qui dépasse le parallélogramme est articulé un bras 12. Les deux bras 12 sont reliés par des traverses 12' et 12" pour former avec celles-ci un appuie-pieds. 22 est une encoche ménagée dans la barre 6 pour recevoir la traverse 12'.
La chaise peut être utilisée dans les positions montrées aux fig. 1 (fauteuil) et fig. 2 (chaise lon gue) et dans toute autre position intermédiaire. Des moyens non indiqués au dessin peuvent être prévus pour bloquer la partie basculante de la chaise dans la position choisie.
En cas de non-emploi, la chaise peut être réduite sous un faible volume, ainsi qu'il ressort de la fig. 3. La manoeuvre est simple : on décroche les barres 8 des étriers 9, qui permettent aux barres 8 de coulis ser tout en les empêchant de se séparer des jambes 3 et, en empoignant l'accoudoir 2, on fait basculer vers l'arrière les jambes 3 jusqu'à ce que le quadri latère 2, 3, 5, 4 soit complètement aplati (fig. 3).
Le parallélogramme 2, 1, 6, 7 s'aplatit aussi pres que complètement. L'échancrure 2' dans l'accoudoir est prévue pour faire place à la traverse 13, tandis que l'encoche 16 dans la barre 8 sert à accrocher cette dernière à l'une des branches de l'étrier 9 planté dans la jambe 3.

to the upper cross member of the small frame, each side frame comprising a bracing bar articulated to the two opposite bars constituting the legs of the chair, which in turn are articulated to the armrest, the lower bar of the side frames being articulated to one of the legs and attached to the other leg, so as to allow, after unhooking, the folding of the chair.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the chair according to the invention. Fig. 1 shows in elevation and side view the chair in position for use as an armchair.
Fig. 2 is a similar view showing the chair in its most extended position.
Fig. 3 shows the folded chair, ready to be stored. The chair shown in the drawing comprises a large frame formed of two parallel longitudinal members 1, connected at their ends by two cross members 14, 14 '.
This frame is supported so as to be able to tilt around a horizontal axis; parallel to the traverses, by two side frames each formed by the following parts: an armrest 2, two legs 3 and 4 whose upper ends are articulated to the ends of the armrest 2, a first bar 5, articulated by its ends in two intermediate points of the legs 3 and 4 and forming with these last and the armrest an articulated quadrilateral,
and a second bar 8 articulated by one of its ends to the rear leg 4, while its other end is hooked at 9 to the leg 3. The pieces 2, 3, 4 and 8 form a trapezoid which is undeformable when bar 8 is hooked to leg 3, thanks to the presence of bar 5.
The articulation axis 18 of the parts 2 and 4 constitutes at the same time the tilting axis of the aforementioned frame.
The two side frames are connected to one another to form a non-deformable assembly by cross members 13 and 17 assembling the two front legs 3, by a cross member 10 assembling the rear legs 4, and by cross members connecting the points articulation 20 and 21 of the leg 4 at the corresponding points of the other leg.
The articulation axis 19 of the parts 2 and 3 sup also carries the upper end of two tilting lon gerons 7, the lower end of each of which is articulated at an intermediate point of a bar 6 whose rear end is articulated at the lower end of the side member 1. The parts 1, 2, 6 and 7 together form a parallelogram, articulated. The two side members 7 are connected to each other by cross members 15, 15 'and 15 ", the whole forming a small frame parallel to the large frame presenting the lanyards 1.
On the upper cross member 15 is fixed one end of a strip of fabric 11, the other end of which is fixed to the upper cross member 14 of the large frame. This strip of fabric forms both the seat and the back of the chair. An arm 12 is articulated on the section of each bar 6 which exceeds the parallelogram. The two arms 12 are connected by cross members 12 'and 12 "to form therewith a footrest. 22 is a notch formed in the bar. 6 to receive the cross member 12 '.
The chair can be used in the positions shown in fig. 1 (armchair) and fig. 2 (long chair) and in any other intermediate position. Means not shown in the drawing may be provided to block the tilting part of the chair in the chosen position.
If not in use, the chair can be reduced to a small volume, as shown in fig. 3. The operation is simple: the bars 8 are unhooked from the brackets 9, which allow the grout bars 8 to be ser while preventing them from separating from the legs 3 and, by grasping the armrest 2, we tilt backwards. legs 3 until the quadrilateral 2, 3, 5, 4 is completely flattened (fig. 3).
The parallelogram 2, 1, 6, 7 flattens out as nearly as completely. The notch 2 'in the armrest is provided to make room for the crossbar 13, while the notch 16 in the bar 8 is used to hook the latter to one of the branches of the bracket 9 planted in the leg 3 .
