Lorsqu'on a fait pivoter le levier k vers la gauche (position représentée sur les fig. 4 et 6), le bec- arrière d3 de l'auge repose sur le sol ; lorsqu'on veut relever ce bec de l'auge, par exemple pour les déplacements de la pelleteuse, il suffit de rabattre le levier k complètement vers la droite, de façon à l'amener dans la po sition représentée sur la fig. 5 ; le système arti- culék, k1, k2, k3 agit, par l'intermédiaire de la- douille d5, sur le fond de l'auged, de manière à relever celle-ci ;
Mechanical excavator The present invention relates to a mechanical excavator which is characterized in that it comprises a frame supporting a scraper chain, frame consisting of two beams hinged together at one of their ends, the beam located on the unloading side of the material driven by the scraper chain being articulated at its other end in a trough itself mounted on a carriage serving for the overall movement of the excavator, and the beam located on the side of the 'attack on the material by the scraper chain being suspended on this trough, by means of a collar, surrounding the free end of this beam and connected by tie rods to a gallows, mounted on the front end of the trough,
so as to be able to be raised or lowered at will by the operation of a cable by a winch, mounted on the trough.
These beams are preferably formed by tubular elements, assembled in a frame of generally rectangular shape.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the excavator forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side elevational view thereof.
Fig. 2 is a corresponding plan view, however certain parts are omitted for the sake of clarity of the drawing. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a link of the scraper chain.
Figs. 4 and 5 are perspective views showing respectively the trough in its lowered position and in its raised position relative to the frame of the support carriage.
Figs. 6 and 7 are corresponding side and end elevational views of the trough in its lowered position.
The excavator shown comprises a frame, formed by two beams a and b, articulated together at one end by an axis c; the beam b is articulated at its opposite end by an axis b1 in a trough d, which is itself mounted on a cart e, serving for the overall displacement of the excavator.
Each of the beams a and b is formed of tubular elements (side members and cross members), assembled together in any suitable manner, for example by welding, into a frame generally rectangular in shape.
The beam a door, at its rear end, opposite the joint c; an axis a ' with a guide roller f for the endless scraper chain tes g; this passes, at the opposite end of the frame of the excavator, over a drive pinion h, fixed on a transverse shaft h1, twisted at h2, </ I> h2 in the trough d; this hl shaft also carries a chain pinion h3, dragged by a chain h4, itself driven, via a speed reducer h5 , by a h6 motor supported by the trough d.
The axis b1 of articulation of the beam b on Tauge, instead of being located, as shown in the drawing, in the vicinity of the shaft hl, for would coincide with this one.
The sheet metal trough has (as is more clearly visible in fig. 7), in cross section, the shape of a U; it is reinforced on its sides by angles dl and, at its bottom, by inclined plates d2, to adapt to the shape of the scraper chain.
Each of the beams a and b carries, at its end close to the articulation axis c of these beams, on a transverse axis, a2, b2, a roller a3 , b #, respectively these two rollers, located on either side of the hinge pin c, serve to guide the scraper chain g, preventing it from rubbing against this articulation axis and reducing the angle of curvature of the scraper chain g as it passes through this location.
The beam a is supported, at its free end, by a collar or stirrup i, surrounding this beam, and connected by two tie rods it to the upper end of a double bracket i2 articulated on the rear end of the trough d in i3; this bracket can be pulled, by means of a pulley i4, by a cable i5, passing over this pulley and whose dead end is fixed to the trough d in ie, while its mobile strand is rolled on a pulley-drum i7; this pulley is actuated by a steering wheel i8, which can be blocked by a lock (not shown).
By winding the cable i5 on the drum pulley i7, the beam a can be raised until it is brought into a position close to the vertical.
The direction of rotation of the shaft hl and of the drive shaft of the scraper chain g is such that the lower part of this chain moves (from left to right on the fig. 1), from the deflection roller f, towards the guide rollers a3, b3 and the toothed drive pinion h.
This chain g carries (fig. 3) squeegees g1, fitted with cutting teeth g2, for removing hard or compact products; each squeegee carries a rear tail g3, resting on the corresponding link of the chain.
The axis al, supporting the return roller f at the rear end of the beam a, carries at its ends cutting discs a4, intended to score the material, on either side of the scraper chain, to facilitate its drive by the scraper chain, when this material is hard and compact (for example in the case of clay or fertilizer).
Two stops (fig. 1), made up of threaded rods b4 mounted in parts, forming nuts, fixed to the rear edges of the trough d, support the two side members of the beam b, in the vicinity of the joint c of the two beams a, b, to prevent the scraper chain g from catching the spout d3 at the rear end of the trough.
This trough d is articulated (see fig. 4 to 7), near its front end, on the frame of the carriage e in d4, so as to be able to tilt and let the rear spout rest. rière d3 of the trough on the ground (fig. 1 and 4).
Near its rear end (on the left in the drawing), the trough d is supported by a transverse bush d5, welded to the bottom of this trough (fig. 7); in this socket d5 passes a transverse axis k1, integral with a lever k and articulated, at each of its ends, to a double link k ', itself articulated to an arm k3, which can pivot around a fixed point k4 on the frame e of the carriage (fig. 6 and 7).
When the lever k has been rotated to the left (position shown in figs. 4 and 6), the tailgate d3 of the trough rests on the ground; when you want to raise this spout from the trough, for example for moving the excavator, it suffices to fold the lever k completely to the right, so as to bring it into the position shown in fig. 5; the articulated system k, k1, k2, k3 acts, via the socket d5, on the bottom of the trough d, so as to raise it;
the lever k can be kept in the folded position (and, consequently, the trough in its raised position) by a lock k5, which can slide in an assembled socket el, , for example by welding , to the chassis e of the carriage; in its position pulled out (fig. 5), this slide lock k5 covers the lever k and prevents it from being raised under the action of the weight of the trough.
The carriage has four wheels, of which the two front wheels e2, e2 (on the right in the drawing) are mounted on a drawbar e3 with pivot e4; the e5 rear wheels are steerable; they can (as shown in fig. 4) be fixed in three positions by means of a pin e '%, which one engages in one of the three holes made in a plate e7 (integral with the frame of the carriage) . This arrangement makes it possible to place the excavator in any desired angular position with respect to the pile of material to be removed or to move it parallel thereto.
This excavator is used as follows At the start of the operation, the beam has been raised, by the operation of the flywheel is, following an angle equal to the inclination of the slope of material to be removed, the excavator is moved forward against this embankment. We start the engine h6; the scrapers g1 of the chain g start to scrape the pile of material. The cable P is unwound, by maneuvering the flywheel i8 in the opposite direction to the previous one, to let down the beam a and let the scraper chain g rest on the pile.
The products torn off by the latter are brought to the foot of the heap, then are entrained by the scrapers g1 going up into the trough d, to fall to the upper part at the front of the latter.
