Device for manual actuation of a rotary member The present invention relates to a device for manual actuation of a rotary member, of the type comprising a part axially and angularly fixed with respect to the gold. rotary gane to be actuated, and a member of my work mounted to slide axially between an active position for which means of relative angular mobilization presented by the part and the aforesaid member are engaged, and an inactive position for which these means of immobilization are out of hand.
This device is characterized in that the operating organ has a cylindrical housing open at both ends and in which the aforesaid part extends, and in that means retain this part at one end of said housing, the other end being closed by a removable plug.
The single figure of the drawing represents, by way of example and partially in section, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the present invention.
This device, which constitutes a lever for manually actuating a shaft not shown, comprises a handle 1 forming part of an operating member 2 slidably mounted axially on a part consisting of a threaded sleeve 3 This bush 3 is designed to be screwed onto the shaft to be actuated so as to be axially and angularly fixed with respect to this shaft. A flange 4 manufactured with the sleeve 3, located at one end thereof, comprises a set of teeth 5 intended to engage with a set of teeth 6 formed inside the actuator 2.
The teeth 5 and 6 constitute means of angular immobilization -relative between the part 3 and the operating member 2.
This operating member 2 comprises a cylindrical housing 7 open at its two ends and in which extends the part 3. A bearing 8 produced with the member 2 is located at one end of the housing 7 and serves to retain the flange 4 of the part 3, a return spring 9 being arranged between the said bearing 8 and the flange 4. The actuator 2 is guided on the part 3 by the internal cylindrical surface 10 of the bearing 8 .
A removable plug 11, for example made of steel, is driven into the end of the housing 7 remote from that having the bearing surface 8. This plug 11 retains the part 3 in the position shown in the drawing, that is to say in which teeth 5 and 6 are engaged.
The operation of the device described is as follows When the teeth 5 and 6 are engaged as shown, a rotation of the actuator 2 has the effect of rotating the shaft to be actuated (not shown) soli - doe of the socket 3.
To modify the angular position of the handle 1 with respect to the shaft to be actuated, it suffices to exert on the latter a traction in the direction of the axis of the housing 7 so that the member 2 slides on the cylindrical sleeve 3 against the action of the spring 9 and that the teeth 5 and 6 are in an inactive position, that is to say out of engagement. When the actuator 2 has been placed in the desired angular position by rotating it in one direction or the other around the sleeve 3, it is then released and the teeth 5 and 6 are brought into engagement by the return spring 9.
The actuator 2 being guided by the cylindrical surface 10 extending over a relatively large part of the part 3, the clearance between this member and said part is practically zero.
