Revenantà la fig. 5, celle-ci est relative au cas du véhicule disposé en formede brouette, comme dans le cas de la fig. 3 ; dans une telle brouette, les éléments10 et 12 sont sensible ment parallèlesà l'axe de symétrieAS de la plaque latérale 20, de manière que lesélé- ments10 et 12 qui étaient placés dans une dis position relative en Và la fig. 4 prennent la disposition parallèle de la fig. 5 ;
Trausformable vehicle The present invention relates to a transformable vehicle, capable of forming a cart and a wheelbarrow, characterized in that it comprises a folding frame capable of being opened to receive a removable collection member for rubbish and d # be folded up to form a wheelbarrow intended for transport etc boxes full of material, such as garbage boxes.
Such a two-purpose vehicle is interesting since it serves to both to all gardening and cleaning transports, such as transport leaf litter, garbage dumping, etc., such a vehicle being both simple and economical in construction.
According to a preferred embodiment, the vehicle comprises a frame mounted on wheels and comprising two elements whose relative orientation can be adjusted to be directed upwards and outwards in the direction opposite to from the axles of the wheels, so to for mer a V-shaped cart frame. It can be provided, in this case, to </ B > the upper end of each element a handle to push the cart. The collecting member, preferably flexible and intended to receive various debris, can be suspended between the upper parts of the two elements and above the wheels. A support foot may advantageously be provided on the frame to project forward from the wheels and engage the ground surface when the cart is at rest.
This support foot is used in this case to stabilize the vehicle, the collector of which is then in a horizontal position, while the elements of the frame are arranged in a V so to constitute the cart.
To transform the cart into a wheelbarrow, for the transport of the boxes of rubbish or hard gold, we bring one against the other, in the case of this embodiment, the two elements - </ B > adjustable elements, from the position giving the frame its V-shape to a position of parallelism by pivoting of these elements around their lower ends.
When the elements serving to push the cart in this embodiment take such a position in parallelism, they are substantially perpendicular to the support foot which has been mentioned above. In such a position corresponding to use as a wheelbarrow, the upper ends of the frame elements arranged in parallel can be gripped as a single handle. The vehicle is then used as a wheelbarrow, the parallel elements of which are directed forward and downward from from the hands of the user.
The vehicle thus arranged is capable of carrying a refuse box or the like, one side of the box resting on the parallel and inclined frame elements, while the bottom of the box is engaged with the support foot. According to a particular characteristic of the object of the invention, a mechanism can be provided making it possible to bring the elements of the frame to will in the positions corresponding respectively to to the shape of a cart and to the shape of a wheelbarrow.
According to another auxiliary characteristic of the invention, the frame may comprise a support foot which can be used for two purposes, capable, on the one hand, of stabilizing the vehicle at rest in the form of a cart and, on the other hand, to engage with the bottom of a to box or similar object and to carry this bottom when the vehicle is arranged in the shape of a wheelbarrow.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, one embodiment of the vehicle which is the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 is a side elevational view of the vehicle according to this embodiment, the elements of the frame being arranged in a V shape so that the vehicle has its cart shape .
Fig. 2 is a top view corresponding to FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a side elevational view of the same vehicle with the frame members folded down so to are substantially parallel and to give the vehicle the in the form of a wheelbarrow for the transport of bdits to garbage or similar objects.
Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view taken along line 4-4 of FIG. 2 showing the mechanism allowing to bring the elements of the frame to will in the positions corresponding to to the shape of cart and to the shape & a wheelbarrow ; in fig. 4, the frame elements have been placed in the position corresponding to to the cart shape.
Fig. 5 is a view corresponding to in fig. 4 where the frame elements have been placed in the position corresponding to the shape of a wheelbarrow and are locked in their corresponding position of parallelism.
In the drawing, the vehicle forming a cart is shown to in fig. 1 in side view. It comprises a frame element 10 extending upwards and rearwards and a second frame element 12 directed upwards and forwards. The elements 10 and 12 are preferably each constituted by a part in the shape of a U, the bottoms of these U forming transverse handles 14 and 15 represented more visibly in in fig. 2.
Each of the lower ends of the 10 shaped element U has a flat 16. Likewise, each of the lower ends of the The U shaped element 12 has a flat 17. These flattened ends 16 and 17 appear more clearly in figs. 4 and 5 where these ends are shown mounted in an adjustable manner on a side plate 20 of the frame, as will be explained in detail hereinafter.
If we refer to again in fig. 1 and 2, on y has been shown a flexible collection pocket 22 mounted on the frame. Such a pocket is made of a heavy cloth or the like and carries loops 24 along its upper extreme edges. A transverse rod 26 passes through these loops 24 at each end of the pocket 22 so to being able to suspend the latter from the frame. The transverse rods 26 are carried in a removable manner respectively by hooks 27 integral with the element 10 and by hooks 28 integral with element 12.
Note that hooks 28 are mounted closer to the upper end of element 12 than hooks 27 are mounted to the upper end of the corresponding element 10; therefore, when the upper edge 30 of the pocket 22 is disposed horizontally and parallel to </ B> the surface of the ground, the center of gravity CG of the cart is placed in front of a vertical plane VP not sant by an axle 32 on which the idlers are mounted two wheels 33. The relative position of the center of gravity CG with respect to the vertical plane VP is shown in fig. 1.
To keep the cart in a stable position with the upper edge of the pocket 22 arranged parallel to the ground, a 35 support foot is mounted in the shape of a U, this foot being made integral with the side plates 20 of the frame, as can be seen more particularly in FIGS. 4 and 5. A lateral part of the 35 foot engages the ground and threaded fasteners 39 serve to < / B> secure the 35 foot to the side plates 20 of the frame. Each side plate 20 has a flange 41 serving to lock the foot 35 in a well-determined position with respect to these side plates 20.
Referring now to to fig. 3 in which the frame of the vehicle is shown in the form corresponding to a wheelbarrow intended for the transport of a refuse box 43 or similar object , we will notice that the elements 10 and 12 are arranged to approximately parallel to one to the other and, moreover, these elements 10 and 12 are to roughly perpendicular to the 35 foot. For such an arrangement, the elements 10 and 12 and a cross member 45 mounted in an adjustable manner on run of these elements, serve as a support to a side face of the to refuse box 43, while at the same time the 35 foot is placed under the bottom of the garbage box 43.
The cross member 45 is made of an elastic material and has hook-shaped ends 47, so that this cross member 45 can be hooked to the 10 element by example and be detached from it to be soul born at different positions along it. There is shown in FIG. 3 at 45 has a different position of the cross member 45, position to which the cross member can be brought by the adjustment indicated.
When the vehicle has the shape of a wheelbarrow, as in the case of FIGS. 3 and 5, the flexible bag 22 shown in figs. 1 and 2 by lifting the crosspieces 26 out of the hooks 27 and 28.
If we now refer to fig. 4 and 5, we will describe in detail a mechanism intended to transform the vehicle at will of the cart shape of FIGS. 1 and 2 to the wheelbarrow shape of fig. 3. It will be understood that different positioning mechanisms can replace the particular mechanism shown in the drawing and described below, without going beyond the scope of the invention. A in fig. 4, the elements 10 and 12 together form a V so that the pocket 22 of FIG. 1 between these elements to make them wear it.
The flattened lower ends 16 and 17 of elements 10 and 12 each have an iron buttonhole 50. An ankle to head 51 crosses each buttonhole 50 and it is fixed to the side plate 20 of the frame on the corresponding side . A slot open at one end and shown at 53 is made in the lower end part of each of the elements 10 and 12. When the elements are arranged in a V-shape as to in fig. 4, each of the open end 53 slots is engaged on a boss 55 of the corresponding plate 20.
This side plate 20 has, moreover, along its edges flanges 57, these flanges forming at 58 bearing surfaces for the flattened ends 16 and 17 of elements 10 and 12. The side plate 20 further comprises a central boss 60, this boss having surfaces 61 forming an additional support for the ends of elements 10 and 12.
To allow an easier understanding of the description and to show more clearly the arrangement of elements 10 and 12 in relation to the side plate, 20 of the frame and to the foot 35, we have shown in AS in fig. 4 and 5, the axis of symmetry of the side plate 20 of the frame. In the arrangement shown to in FIG. 4, each of the elements 10 and 12 is also inclined with respect to to this axis of symmetry, while the foot 35 is at roughly perpendicular to this axis AS.
Returning to fig. 5, this relates to the case of the vehicle arranged in the shape of a wheelbarrow, as in the case of FIG. 3; in such a wheelbarrow, the elements 10 and 12 are substantially parallel to the axis of symmetry AS of the side plate 20, so that the elements elements 10 and 12 which were placed in a relative position in V to fig. 4 take the parallel arrangement of FIG. 5;
each of these elements has been lifted in a vertical plane along its axis so as to release the corresponding boss 55, after which the element around the ankle to head 51 to bring back to a position in which the slit at open end 53 comes facing a boss 64 also provided on the side plate 20 ; the surfaces 66 of the central boss 60 serve as stops limiting the pivoting of the elements around the ankles to head 51. Each of the elements- elements 10-12 is then pushed back towards down so that the slot or green 53 engages the corresponding boss 64.
The elements 10 and 12 are then in the position of fig. 3 and 5 corresponding to the wheelbarrow shape.
It will be noted that the particular positioning mechanism which has just been described can be simplified by replacing the button 50 by an opening of form circular and if we remove the open slot 53 as well as the corresponding bosses 55 and 64. In this simplification, we can use </ B > the frictional resistance to pivoting occurring between the engaging surfaces of the elements 10 and 12, on the one hand, and the side plate 20, on the other hand, to hold said elements in the desired relative position.
If reference is made more particularly to to FIG. 5, the axis of symmetry AS of the side plates 20 is shown as tilted backwards, together with the elements < B> 10 and 12, this position being that taken by this axis and by these elements when the wheelbarrow is in the working position. With further reference to to FIG. 5, it can be seen that the 35 foot is directed forwards and upwards relative to the ground, this 35 foot being substantially perpendicular to the axis of symmetry AS and to elements 10 and 12.
It follows from the above that the vehicle described can be transformed easily and at will to give it the shape of a cart or the shape of a wheelbarrow; this vehicle comprises an improved mechanism for thereby bringing the vehicle into one or the other of its positions of use. In addition, the idea of easily bringing a vehicle either to the shape of a cart or to the shape of a wheelbarrow is far from obvious and the device obtained by the implementation of this idea is extremely useful.
