Description
Safety device for skiers. The invention a. for object a safety device for skiers, characterized in that it comprises a cable of adjustable length whose ends are each intended to be fixed on a ski in front of the skier's foot, and an elastic means, one end of which is fixed to a member sliding on the cable and the other end to the skier's belt, the purpose of this elastic means is to absorb the slack in the cable connecting the skis.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention mounted on skis.
In this drawing, we see a cable 1, two ear fittings 2, a rubber link 3, constituting the elastic means, a carabiner .1 constituting the sliding member. and a part 5 for adjusting the length of the target 1.
The two fittings 2 are each fixed on titi ski by means of screws, for example. the closed ends of the cable 1, stopped by a titi nceud la, passes into the ear of one of the lugs: the cable passes. then in the holder nioitsqiteton 4, cross twice the. part 5 in part 6, go through the ear of the other fitting, then cross it again. piece 5 to end with a stopper node 1à.
A loop of the link 3 is passed to the skier's belt 7, an other loop carries the carabiner holder intended to slide on the cable.
The operation of the device is as follows: The length of the cable, proportionate to the size of the skier, allows the legs to be spread without reaching a dangerous separation.
The point of attachment of the cable to the ski being placed in front of the skier's foot, the maximum transverse spacing tends to make the tips of the skis converge, which makes them approach dearly.
When the skis come closer to each other, the link 3 pulls on the cable 1 and prevents it from getting caught in the skier's feet or dragging in the snow.
In the event that one of the skis becomes loose, the cable will prevent it from drifting away from the skier and getting lost.
