Fig. 3 zeigt weitere Ausführungsvarianten der innern Wellblechauskleidung."
Device for roasting bulk material in a rotating drum. The invention relates to a device for roasting bulk material such as coffee, grain, brewing barley, pharmaceutical products and the like in a rotary drum.
The invention consists in that at one end of the drum a Z1.11 AufVorrich- device and at the other end an Auslaufvor device are provided for the bulk material continuously passing through the rotating drum and that infrared radiators are arranged in between, beginning after entering the drum, This is followed by an installation that carries a cooling and cleaning flow of atmospheric air over the bulk material heated by the heater.
With reference to the drawing, which represents two exemplary embodiments from the invention, this is explained below. The figures show: FIG. 1 a longitudinal section through a first embodiment of the device, FIG. 2 the inner drum lining for the irradiation zone, FIG. 3 two further variants for the drum lining and FIG. 4 a longitudinal section through a second embodiment of the device.
In the device shown in FIG. 1, the material to be roasted passes from the outlet pipe b of the bulk hopper a into the filling hopper c. For even supply of the material, the height of the filling funnel c with the adjoining inlet pipe d can be adjusted so that the bulk material emerging from the fixed outlet pipe b can be observed in the filling funnel c at any time.
From the hopper c, the bulk material passes through the inlet pipe d onto the filling blades e of the rotating drum f, which distribute the material over the inside of the drum. The bulk material travels through the irradiation zone g, then via lifting shovels h to the installation i of the cooling zone, at the end of which it reaches the discharge funnel k.
The longitudinal beam Z running through the entire drum consists of a tube which is produced by cutting the lower part over the length of the support bed or is formed from a correspondingly cut sheet metal. The side member l rests on the supports m and n and is accordingly supported on both sides outside the rotary drum.
In the side member l, the support bed o is arranged to be able to accommodate pear-shaped infrared radiators p and is adjustable in its position and arranged to be removable. At the protruding from the rotating drum end of the bed o the switches r are arranged for switching off individual or individual groups of radiators. The cooling air is sucked off by means of the fan s through the left end of the longitudinal member b which is designed as a suction channel u and adjoins the fan.
It occurs at the falling e2 of the drum f in this and, after crossing out the bar i through the lower openings t in the suction channel from z. The rotary drum f is in this example at the dropout e2 by the roller bearing u and at the Einfa'llend'e on the roller bearing v on the longitudinal beam Z in an inclined position.
Fig.2 shows the inner drum lining made of corrugated iron for the irradiation zone. The inside of the drum is provided with such an off clothing that has no nooks and crannies, rivets or sharp edges on which the bulk material can be held. This inner lining of the drum, which is rolled out of one piece if possible, has the advantage that the bulk material is smoothly and evenly rearranged during the entire treatment period.
It also has the advantage that stagnant layers of air arise between it and the actual drum shell, which form good insulation against heat transfer to the drum shell.
Fig. 3 shows further variants of the inner corrugated sheet metal lining. "In Fig. 4 a device is shown in which instead of the pear-shaped infrared radiator p rod-shaped radiators q are used e1 of the drum is supported on a race y resting on support rollers x.
The drive of the rotary drum is. not signed. He can atif any known manner. Toothed ring with gear transmission, chain drive, V-belt, worm wheel with worm or otherwise.
