Device for stopping in the open position a tilting cover on a support. The present invention relates to a device for stopping in the open position a tilting lid on a support around a axis located near one of its sides, characterized in that it comprises at least one support rod pivotally mounted by its median part on one end of a crank whose other end is mounted pivoting to the cover, one end of the support rod being,
capable of smoothing neck in a guide groove which extends in a direction parallel to one of the sides of the cover and perpendicular to the tilting axis of the cover, the distance between the pivot point of the crank at the neck circle and the end of said groove furthest from said point. pivot being greater than the sum of the length of the my level and (the length of the part of the support rod between the point of attachment (the crank and the cover.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
The only figure is a longitudinal section.
The device shown in the drawing is integral with a cover 2, mounted on a support constituted by the upper part 1 of the body of an electric fryer. This cover made of sheet metal has edges 3 folded at right angles. It is mounted to tilt on the support 1 by means of an axis 4. The device comprises a sheet metal part 5 which has a shape similar to that of the cover 2, but smaller dimensions, and is fixed against the underside of the cover key 2 by means of screws 6 and nuts 7. These screws 6 and 'nuts 8 also serve to fix against the same face of the cover two bars 9, one on each side of the cover.
Each of these bars 9 forms one of the longitudinal walls of a groove, the other longitudinal wall of which is formed by the bottom of a recess made in the folded rim adja cent 11 of the part 5. In this rim, we have also made a notch 12 which, of body with the lower end of the corresponding bar 9, forms a bearing for a bridge 13 of a rod in the form of a U with sharp angles, rod of which the jambs 14 each form a m level. A bridge 15 of another rod having the shape of a U with sharp angles can slide along the groove 1.0 which it uses. guide. Jambs 16 of this other rod constitute support rods whose ends 17, bent at right angles, are intended to rest on the upper part 1.
The ends 18, also bent at right angles, of the cranks 14, are capable of pivoting in transverse holes situated in the middle parts of the support rods 16.
Each guide groove extends in a direction parallel to one of the faces of the cover and perpendicular to the axis 4, from a point situated at a distance cd from the pivot point of the crank 14 and to a point located at a distance a from said pivot point, this distance a being. greater than the sum of the. length b of the crank and length c of the. part of the support rod 16 which is between the bridge 15 and the receiving hole. end 18. The distance d, which separates the pivot point of each crank 14 to the cover \? of the end adjacent to the guide groove 10 is.
less than the length b of the crank.
To put the stop device in its inactive position in order to allow the cover 2 to be folded down, it is possible either to exert a push on the ends 17 or to beat the cover backwards, in a clockwise direction. shows in the drawing, then relatively quickly in the other direction. In both cases, the cranks 14 and the support rods 16 come to rest flat against the underside of the cover 2 which can then be folded completely onto the support. 1 .. The bridge. 15 is then located at the end of the grooves 10 which is remote from the axis 4.
When we put. the cover 2 in the position shown in the drawing, the stop device itself comes into its active position.
The reference numbers 19 and 21. indicate flanges which allow the hooking of Line frying basket 20 without the. lower part of the latter butts directly against part 5.
We could provide another embodiment by not presenting. only one trin-; the support, only one crank and only one groove (the guide.
