Control device for a timepiece. The subject of the invention is a control device for a timepiece, comprising a winding crown carrying a pusher capable of acting on certain members of the movement by means of at least one sleeve surrounding the winding stem. In this device, at least one seal is provided to ensure the seal between the. winding key rod and a guide member surrounding said rod, seal capable of being displaced axially with the sleeve.
The fib. 1 to 3 of the accompanying drawing represent, in section and by way of example, three embodiments of the object of the invention.
The control device of a watch, shown in. fig. 1, comprises a pendant 1, integral with the box 2, and on which is. attached a loop 3. This pendant. 1. has a 4-cylindrical projection, forming a journal on which pivots a crown 5, projection housed in a cylindrical recess of the latter. A winding stem 6 is screwed into a threaded bore 7 of the crown 5 and pivots, via its end 8, in a bearing not shown in the drawing, this bearing allowing axial displacement of said stem 6.
The crown 5 has at its upper part a cylindrical recess 9 provided for a push-button 10. The latter is screwed onto a fork-shaped end of a sleeve 11. The two fingers 12 and 13, forming the fork , pass through openings 1.4 and 1 5 provided in the ring 5. The other end, said sleeve 11, has an internal circular projection 16, intended to abut against the part 17 of the ring 5, in order to limit displacement. from the sleeve 11 to the outside of the watch.
A second sleeve 18 is placed around the winding stem 6 and is separated from the first sleeve by an annular seal 19 made of elastic material, arranged between two metal washers 20 and 21. The sleeve 18 acts on certain parts of the watch movement, for example on the control mechanism of a second hand.
The diameter of the central hole of the seal 19 is smaller than that of the rod 6, while its outer diameter is larger than that of the bore of the pendant 1, so that, by its own elasticity, the seal 19 is made pressed against the wall of said. bore and against the rod 6 thus hermetically closing the passage between the rod 6 and the pendant 1.
The sleeve 18 and therefore the sleeve 11 and the pusher 10 are subjected to the elastic action of a spring, not shown, tending to apply the sleeve 18 against the sleeve 11, so that the seal 19 is always clamped between these two sleeves. When the push-button 10 is pressed, the sleeve 18 is pushed towards the inside of the watch, against the action of this spring, not shown, by means of the sleeve 11 and of the seal 19. The latter slides therefore axially in the bore of the pendant 1 and around the rod 6.
When the pusher 10 is released, it is pushed back by said spring, via the sleeves 11 and 18 and the seal 19, until the circular projection 16 abuts against the part 17 of the crown.
When the watch is wound by crown 5, rod 6 rotates in the seal. 19 and if the crown is displaced axially in order to inactivate the time-setting mechanism, the rod 6 moves axially in said seal. The seal 19 therefore ensures a constant seal, whatever. the movements and displacements printed on crown 5 and push-button 10.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. \ _ 'and which constitutes a variant of that of FIG. 1, the sleeves 11 and 18 are placed end to. end. The sealing between the winding stem 6 and the sleeve 18 is obtained by means of an annular seal 22, which is partially engaged in a groove of the winding stem 6, and the sealing between the sleeve 18 and the pendant 1 is obtained at. using a similar seal 23, partially engaged in a circular groove of the sleeve 18.
The seals 22 and 23 are torus-shaped and the diameter of their section is a little larger than the distance between the bottom of the groove and the inner wall of the sleeve, respectively between the bottom of the groove and the inner wall of the pendant. The way that each seal exerts, by its own elasticity, a pressure against the parts between which it is placed. These seals can advantageously be provided of rubber or of synthetic material having similar elastic properties.
It is understood that the grooves could be provided in the bore of the pendant and to. inside the sleeve 11 instead of being outside the sleeve and in the winding stem. The grooves could also be removed, the seals then simply being wedged between the sleeve and the winding stem, on the one hand, and between the sleeve and the inner wall of the pendant, on the other hand.
Fig. 3 represents the control members of a wristwatch. The seal 19 is similar to that shown in FIG. l and esi placed between two washers <B> '</B> 0 and 21. The crown is. formed of two pieces .'34 and? 5 screws seated one on the other. The pusher 10 carries two rods 26 which can slide in bores provided in part 25 of the crown and take. bearing on the washer 20. The pusher 10 has a circular projection 27 intended to abut against the part 2-1 of the crown in order to limit its outward displacement.
In the position (see pou oir shown in the drawing, the sleeve 18 is pushed towards the outside of the watch by a spring, not shown, so that the seal 19 and the washers 20 and 21 are clamped between this sleeve 18 and rods 26.
The key guide member the rod 6, constituted by the pendant 1 in the first two embodiments, consists of a tube 28 driven into the middle of the watch.
It is clear that in this third embodiment, the pusher could be secured to more than two rods 6 supported on the washer 20.
It is of course due these control units could. be those of a pocket watch.
