Tongs for unmolding and chocolateing ice cream sticks. The present invention relates to a pliers for removing from the mold and chocolateing ice cream sticks: It is known that the manufacture of ice cream sticks is carried out by first filling the cells of the molds with the ice cream considered, then by pricking a wooden stick in the middle of the mass contained in each of the cells, twelve in number for example. After passage in the freezer, the ice cream sticks obtained are seized with the help of the net sticks to be unmolded and subjected to chocolateing by soaking them in a suitable mixture.
The gripper which is the subject of the invention is intended to allow, in a manner that is both easy and rapid, the demolding, by a single maneuver, of the ice cream sticks lining a mold, then to carry out the chocolateing in a single dip.
For this purpose, the clamp according to the invention comprises clamping parts fixed on a common elastically deformable support, these clamping parts having clamping edges between which the rods are tines to be clamped, these clamping parts being capable of 'to be discarded.
In the accompanying drawing which shows an embodiment of a clamp, object of the invention, FIG. 1 is a view from below of a clamp according to the invention.
Fig: 2 is a section taken along the line II-II of FIG. 3. Fig. 3 is a plan view thereof, and FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the clip filled with ice cream sticks and of the mold from which the sticks have just been removed.
The clamp shown in the drawing comprises clamping parts 1a, 1b, 1, 1d and 1c, which are fixed on a common support, consisting of two leaf springs 2a and 2b.
It should be noted that these res leaves have, in the relaxed state, a curved shape, the concavity of which is directed downwards, so that the upper parts of the clamping pieces, which are fixed to these blades by their part lower ,, are separated from each other.
While the external clamping pieces 111 and 1e are rigidly fixed to these leaf springs 2a and 2b by screws 3, the intermediate clamping pieces 1b, 1 and 1d are fixed to these leaves using rivets 4 of which the rod passes through holes made in the blades 2a and 2b and the diameter of which is greater than that of the rivets 4 so as to confer a certain mobility to the clamping pieces 1b, 1 and 1d.
Each outer clamping piece carries a lever 5, respectively 6, the function of which will be explained below. Each lever has an angled lower part, 5a respectively 51, which follows a straight part 6d respectively 6b, ending in one end. folded, 7a respectively 71. These two levers constitute the branches of the clamp and are surrounded by a smooth neck ring 8 of oblong shape.
As can be seen in particular in FIGS. 2 and 4, the clamping pieces have at their lower part inclined surfaces 9, so that the facing surfaces of two adjacent clamping pieces form a reversed V . At their upper part, the clamping pieces have clamping edges, one of which, 10, has a raised shape, while the other, 11, has a hollow shape.
The above clamp is used as follows: When the movable ring 8 is in its lower position shown in FIG. 2, the leaf springs 2a and 2b can occupy; thanks to their elasticity, their natural curved position, the levers 5 and 6 being separated at the same time as the clamping parts la and the.
The clamp is then placed on the mold 15, the cells 14 of which contain the frozen ice cream sticks 12, each of which is provided with a stick 13. When the clamp is put in place, these sticks 13 engage in the V inverted formed by the inclined faces 9 of the clamping pieces and are guided by them automatically in the gap existing between the clamping edges 10 and 11 of the spaced clamping pieces. It should be noted that this positioning of the sticks is carried out automatically thanks to the inclined surfaces of the clamping parts.
Then, the levers 5 and 6 are tightened by sliding the ring 8 into its upper position shown in fig. 4, so as to bring the levers 5 and 6 into the clamping position. It should be noted that the assembly is arranged in such a way that the ring 8 cannot escape from the blanks 6a and 6b, thanks to their folded end. This bringing together of the levers 5 and 6 at the same time caused the straightening of the leaf springs 21, and 2b and therefore the bringing together of the clamping pieces 1a to 1e carried by them.
This movement of bringing together the clamping pieces causes the clamping of the rods 13 between the clamping edges 10 and 11 of the adjacent clamping pieces. It should be noted that the particular shape of the edges of the clamping pieces ensures a good clamping of each stick.
After having pinched all the sticks 13 of a mold 15, you can remove all the ice cream sticks at the same time by simply lifting the clamp. Then, all of the sticks 12 carried by the tongs can be immersed in the chocolate liquid and left to drain and dry.
To release the finished sticks, all you have to do is lower the ring 8 to its lower position. The natural elasticity of the res leaves 2a and 2b then causes them to resume their initial curved position shown in FIG. 2, so as to separate the clamping edges 10 and 11 and thus free the net sticks 13.
It is understood that in another embodiment, the number of clamping pieces and of the support blades may be different. On the other hand, the control lever locking device may be different from that shown in the drawing.
