Porte-mine.
Mechanical pencil. The present invention relates to a mechanical pencil of the type comprising a clamp for clamping the mine, held in the clamped position by a coil spring and further comprising a calendar formed of two elements capable of being moved one by one. compared to the other, one of the elements bearing the dates of the month, the other the days of the week.
This mechanical pencil is characterized by the fact that its body is in two parts each forming one of said elements, these two parts being capable of being spaced apart axially and displaced angularly with respect to each other against the action of the spring. operating the gripper.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the mechanical pencil according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial longitudinal sectional view thereof and FIG. 2 a partial side view.
This mechanical pencil comprises a hollow body 1, inside which is. placed a guide tube 2 of the mine 3. The latter is hand held in the guide tube 2 by a collet 4. The clamp 4 is clamped on the mine 3 by a coil spring 5 bearing, of on the one hand, on a solid shoulder of the body 1. and, on the other hand, on a shoulder 6 provided at the end of the guide tube 2 opposite to that carrying the clamp 4. The clamp 4 is intended to be actuated in pressing on an actuator button 7 which is integral with the guide tube 2. In fact, this clamp 4 is formed from a tubular part with a conical outer wall.
This part has three slots 8 limiting three jaws 9. By pressing the button 7, the clamp moves axially outward from the body of the mechanical pencil allowing the jaws 9 to move away from each other. On the other hand, when the button 7 is released, the spring 5 brings the clamp back towards the inside of the mechanical pencil, which causes the jaws 9 to tighten on the lead 3.
This mechanical pencil further comprises a calendar of the kind formed of two elements capable of being moved relative to each other, one of the elements bearing the dates of the month, the other on the days of the month. the week.
In the embodiment shown, the two elements of the calendar are formed by the body 1 of the mechanical pencil, which is in two parts 10 and 11. These two parts 10 and 11 are capable of being axially separated and displaced. angularly relative to each other against the action of the spring 5 nant action. the clamp 4. In fact, these parts.10 and 11, which are tubular in shape with a heptagonal section, one has a male part 12 penetrating into a female part 13 of the other part.
The male part 12 is formed of a tubular part 14 force-fitted into one end. of the part 10. The inner end 15 of this part 14 serves as a fulcrum for one of the ends of the spring 5. The part of the part 14 projecting out of the part 10 is formed of a tubular section 16 of heptagonal section over part of its length and terminated by a section of round section 17.
This male part 12 is of such shape that when the two parts 10 and 11 are engaged one in the other, the section 16 fits exactly into the female part 13 and prevents any angular displacement of the parts 10 and 11 relative to each other, while when they are axially separated from one another against the action of spring 5 (see fig. 2), only the round section section 17 of the male part 12 remains engaged in the female part 13, which allows angular displacement of the two parts 10 and 11 with respect to each other.
In the embodiment shown, the days of the week are indicated on part 10 and the days of the month on part 11. As shown in FIG. 2, each side of coin 10 bears the first letter of a day of the week while the sides of coin 11 bear the dates of the month. Thus, when the first Tuesday of a month happens to be the second day of the month, it suffices to move aside against the action of the spring 5 the two parts 10 and 11, then to rotate them one with respect to the 'other in order to bring the number 2 of the scale of the quan tths next to the M of Tuesday.
The spring 5 is then allowed to tighten together the two parts 10 and 11 and the calendar is thus set for the duration of the month.
In the embodiment shown, the male part 12 is integral with the part 10, while the female part 13 is formed in the part 11, one end of which is the tip of the mechanical pencil.
However, it is of course understood that one could provide the reverse, that is to say to ensure that the male part 12 is integral with the part 11. while the female part 13 would be formed in the part 10. However, in the latter case, it would be necessary to provide a shoulder inside the part 10 to replace the fulcrum 15 of the spring 5.
Other construction modifications could be made to the mechanical pencil described with reference to the accompanying drawing. Thus, the parts 10, 11 and 14 instead of being of heptagonal section 'over at least part of their length could be of any cross section, for example round. In the latter case, it would then be necessary to provide notches making it possible to angularly block the parts 10 and 11 in seven different positions with respect to one another.
The mechanical pencil described makes it possible to have an easy-to-read calendar always within reach, and this while being of simple and robust construction, requiring only minimal additional work compared to mechanical pencils of ordinary construction, without calendar.
