Jumping seconds watch. The object of the invention is a watch with a jumping second, a watch characterized by two members capable of a relative angular movement, one of which, driven by a wheel wheel, drives the other by an elastic coupling, the second organ controlling the movements of the key seconds hand and carrying a stop device. immobilizing it, but periodically put in and. out of action by the first member, each release to said stop device allowing an angular jump of the seconds hand.
In a preferred embodiment of the object of the invention, the two members in question above have the form of disks, one of which, toothed and driven by the finish wise, turns freely on the axis of the seconds, while the other is, integral with this. axis. In this case, the elastic coupling com will take an ankle, planted in one of the discs, crossing. the other and. leaning on a spring. in solidarity with the latter.
The stopping device could, for example, include a spring-loaded pawl pivoted on the disc integral with the seconds hand and the nose of which is engaged in a fixed toothed ring, integral with a bridge, its setting out. action being caused by a second peg planted in the disc driven by the finish.
One embodiment of the watch according to the invention is. shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing. Only the second hand needle actuation mechanism is shown. Fig. 1 is a section and FIG. 2 a plan in which the upper deck and the components it carries are shown in dotted lines.
The axis 1 of the seconds hand is pi voted from one end in a .bridge 2. This sup axis freely carries a first disc 3, integral with a pinion 4 in mesh with the small medium wheel 5. The axial play of the disc 3 and said pinion 4 is limited, on the one hand, by a shoulder 6 of the mobile center 7 and, on the other hand, by 'Lin another shoulder 8 extending a sleeve 9 of the axis.
A second disc 10 is attached to this. axis 1 via the sleeve 9 and carries a drive pin 11 which passes through the disc 3 in a notch 12 above which extends a leaf spring 13. This spring 13 is fixed at 1.4 to the disc 3 and presses against the ankle 11.
A release pin 15 is planted in the disc 3 and passes through the disc 10 through an opening 16. A pawl 18 is. pivoted on an axis 17 rising on the side of the disc 10 opposite to that adjacent a.Li disc 3. The beak of this cli quet is designated by 19 and its tail, 20, soot holder 21 .which penetrates into the thickness of the disc 10 by an opening 22.
The tail 20 is long enough to reach just within the field of action of the ankle 1.5 and. cooperate with it.
A return spring 23, held in a recess of the disc 10 and fixed at 24, penetrates laterally into the opening 22 and presses against the pin 21.
The beak 19 of the pawl 78 is. kept constantly in engagement with a crown of; i- ty 25 integral with the bridge? speak. spring .'33. Lé not the teeth of the. toothed crown 25 is 6 and therefore corresponds to the angle that the needle carried by the axis 1 must travel through each second.
The above-described mechanism works as follows: Disk 3 is, dii does. of its mechanical relationship with the wheel 5, constantly stressed by the spring of the barrel of the watch. The coupling of this disc 3 with the disc 1.0.
constituted by the spring 13 and the, peg 1.1, est. without effect because the pawl 18 is engaged in an inter-tooth of the toothed ring 25.
Disc 10 is. kept unhindered as long as the angle traversed by the ankle 15, planted in the disc 3, is not. not sufficient to make the pawl 18 oscillate and exit the gap of the ring gear? 5. As soon as that though. at.
This being the case, the disc 10, pushed by the spring 13 acting on the pin 11, is suddenly turned (the 6, that is to say by an angle sufficient for a new locking effected by the engagement of the pawl 18 in the next inter-tooth of the crown 25. The blocking being again by fact, the jeii is continued by the continuous drive of the wheel 5.
Each release of the disc 10 by the continuous movement saying 3 causes a jump of the seconds hand fixed on the axis 1. This jump. being., by construction of the toothed crown 25, of 6, the needle will travel each time, on the dial, an angle corresponding to a -eeonde.
