The present invention relates to a shaped sealed case for a watch, comprising a back-middle part of corresponding shape engaged in the case body, and acting axially, with the interposition of a sealing gasket, on a rim of the case. crystal, also engaged in said case body, in order to press it against an internal shoulder of the case body, in which the caseback carries, at at least two of its angles, a cylindrical closure part mounted to rotate in a corresponding housing of the caseback, having means for rotating it,
this part also having a side lug engaging in an internal groove of the box body, in order to ensure the assembly of the latter to the bottom-middle part.
Watch cases of the kind mentioned above in which, however, the closure members have a slightly different shape, are known per se.
The use of eccentric parts for assembling a casing circle to a box body is also known. The aim of the present invention is to provide a watch case of the type mentioned above in which, thanks to the presence of elastic elements, the assembly can be carried out more easily and in which, in particular, the manufacturing tolerances. are less tight than in known constructions.
To this end, the box according to the invention is characterized in that a gasket of elastically deformable material, constituted by an O-ring of the so-called O-ring type, is interposed between each of said rotating closing parts and the bottom of the housing of the caseback in which it is engaged, so that the axial force exerted by the case body on the lug of each rotating part is transmitted to the caseback via the intermediary of said elastic lining.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view, from below, of a square waterproof case for a wristwatch, and FIGS. 2 and 3 are partial sections of this box, taken along lines 1I-11 and I11-II1, respectively, on an enlarged scale.
The watch shown comprises a movement 1 housed in a case comprising a caseband-bezel 2 having parts 2a forming horns for fixing a bracelet and a part 2b constituting the bezel proper.
The case further comprises a caseback 3, of square shape, engaged in the opening, of corresponding shape, of the caseband-bezel 2 and pressed axially, by means described below, against a heel 4a of the crystal. , designated by 4. This caseback 3 acts on the heel 4a by means of a seal 5 and presses it against the part 2b of the caseband 2.
The circular movement is held in place by an interior projection 3a presented by the back-middle part 3, acting as a casing frame, and by the heel 4a of the crystal 4, against which it rests by its dial, designated by 6. The caseback 3 carries, for its axial clamping, four cylindrical closure pieces 7 each engaged in a housing 8 that has, at each angle, the caseback,
and in each of which a part 7 is rotatably mounted. Each cylindrical closing part 7 has a side lug 7a and a transverse groove 9 allowing it to be rotated using a screwdriver. The side lug 7a constitutes an assembly element which is hooked, like fixed keys, in an internal groove 10 presented by each corner of the caseband-bezel 2.
A gasket made of elastically deformable material 11, consisting of an O-ring shaped ring, of the so-called O-ring type, is interposed between the bottom of each of the housings 8 of the case-back 3 and the cylindrical closing part 7 which is contained therein. .
As a result, when the lugs 7a of the parts 7 are engaged in the corresponding grooves 10 of the middle-bezel 2, the parts 7 apply to the back-middle part 3 an axial thrust exerted by means of the annular elastic parts. 11.
The box is finally provided with a false bottom 12, fixed in a notch to the bottom-middle part 3, covering the closure parts 7 and making them invisible.
