Rapporteur d'angles.
Sur le dessin, 1 représente le corps de l'appareil formant la base et le siège qui re çoit tout le mécanisme ; 2 représente le cadran fixe gradué en degrés de 0 à 360"sur toute la circonférence ; 3 le cadran ou disque mobile se déplaçant sur le cadran fixe, avec une graduation divisée en 45 , et muni de trois index indicateurs 5 ; 4 sont les bornes de brochage en nombre variable, dans le cas présent au nombre de huit, qui sont placées à demeure sur le disque mobile ; 6 sont des repères placés sur le corps de l'appareil indiquant les limites de course d'un vernier ;
Protractor of angles.
The object of the present invention is a protractor of angles, characterized in that it comprises two dials, one of which is permanently fixed on the body of the apparatus and bears a graduation in degrees, the other dial, intended for receive the rule holder, being able to move on the first and carrying a different graduation, arranged opposite pinout terminals which are permanently placed on the mobile dial, the latter being controlled by a micrometric drum vernier.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the angle protractor according to the invention.
Figs.] And 2 show an overall front and side view.
Figs. 3 and 4 show an overall rear view and a section along line 1ss of FIG. 3.
Figs. 5 and 6 respectively represent a longitudinal section and a transverse section of the vernier, along C-D of FIG. 5.
Figs. 7 and 8 show a section and an end view of the ruler holder fixing device.
In the drawing, 1 represents the body of the apparatus forming the base and the seat which receives the entire mechanism; 2 represents the fixed dial graduated in degrees from 0 to 360 "over the entire circumference; 3 the dial or mobile disc moving on the fixed dial, with a graduation divided into 45, and provided with three index indicators 5; 4 are the terminals broaching in variable number, in this case eight in number, which are permanently placed on the movable disc; 6 are marks placed on the body of the apparatus indicating the travel limits of a vernier;
when, by rotating the vernier, one of the indexes 5 is brought opposite a mark 6, this indicates that the rotation of the vernier has reached the end of its travel and that it must be stopped otherwise there is a risk of damaging the screw of training. (If the angle to be measured is greater than that indicated on the dial, this indicates that the wrong terminal has been entered and it is then necessary to bring the ruler holder 7 to another terminal 4); 7 is the rule holder capable of pivoting around the central axis for positioning; it has, on the face in contact with the mobile eadran, a cavity 76 which covers the terminal 4 chosen according to the angle to be measured, the ruler holder is then driven in rotation by the mobile dial:
8 is the eccentric locking button for fixing the rule, 9 is the movable rule which is fixed by the button 8 on the rule holder 7 and which is of any length; 10 represents the attachment part of the ruler 7; this part 10 is permanently fixed on the central axis 13 (fig. 7) and it is provided with a collar serving as a seat for a return spring 12 which presses on the locking sleeve 11.
By lifting the sleeve 11 against the action of the spring 12, the blade holder 7 is released, which can then be released from the pinout terminal and be brought to another spindle; 13 is the central axis placed in the axis of the apparatus, it is independent of the body 1 and transmits the rotation of the vernier to the mobile eadran 3 supporting the holder. me 7. The axle is held in position, on the one hand, by a collar 13a and, on the other hand, by the fixing nut 14 pressing on a washer 14a.
The nut 14 is tightened so as to let the axis 13 rotate relative to the body 1.15 is a false plate keyed on the central axis 13; it is used to receive a cradle 16 which, itself, receives a shoe 17 supporting winders 18. This assembly allows precise adjustment of the position of the cradle 16 relative to the axis 13, due to the fixing screw 1 . 6a is screwed into the plate 15 and crossing the light 16b provided in the cradle (fig. 3).
The cradle of the winders, 16, is secured in position, on the one hand, by the central axis, and it is connected, on the other hand, to the false plate 15 by means of the fixing screw 16 sliding in the light 16b to allow adjustment; the shoe 17 forms part of the cradle 16 and supports the tensioners 17a each intended to receive one of the ends of the winders 18; these are formed by steel bands to obtain the maximum resistance and flexibility, while ensuring perfect transmission of movement; these reels are supported by guide rollers 19 serving as a track. A fixing screw 20 (FIG. 5) connected to the vernier nut 23 receives the ends of the winders 18 which control the cradle.
The body 21 of the cylinder-shaped vernier is permanently fixed to the body of the apparatus.
A cross section of the vernier along line C-D has been shown in FIG. 6; the various elements shown include the screw 20 on which the square nut 20a is placed, a washer 20b, a locknut 20c, the yokes 20e and 20f for fixing the tapes 18 and a locking nut 20g.
In fig. 5, there is shown a longitudinal section of the vernier. This comprises a lead screw 22 placed in the axis of the cylinder; it supports a nut 23 sliding in the cylinder, each end of which ends in the form of an extendable clamp; these clamps are fitted with nuts 24 making it possible to establish intimate and permanent contact with the lead screw to take up the play. A needle screw 25 forming a pivot maintains the lead screw strictly in the axis of the cylinder, it is permanently fixed to the body of the vernier by a nut 26 and a counter-nut 26 '. A nut 27 for adjusting and fixing the lead screw is screwed onto the lead screw which has a collar of a. rrt 22a.
The vernier carries at its end a drum 28 subdivided into 60 parts, each of which corresponds to one minute of angle, and permanently fixed to the lead screw by a fixing nut 29 which at the same time allows the calibration of the apparatus. A braking screw 30 (see fig. 1) is provided to keep the apparatus in a determined position; it engages in a groove 30a provided in the lead screw and blocks the latter. Finally, a protective casing 31 putting all of the components in perfect safety surrounds the various components.
The protractor works as follows: To measure an angle, first place the opening ruler 9 on the ruler holder by means of the locking button 8, then the ruler holder is put in the appropriate position using the terminals 4 and of the locking sleeve 11, so that the angle by which it has to be rotated, by means of the vernier, for the measurement, is as small as possible and less than 45. The degrees are read by the index indicator 5 of the mobile dial on the graduation of the fixed dial, and for the minutes on the vernier barrel.
As it was said previously, the. rotation of the lead screw 22 by means of the drum 28 causes the longitudinal displacement of the nut 23, which drives through the blades 18 the rotation of the cradle 16 as well as of the axis 13 and, consequently, that of the mobile dial 3 supporting the blade holder 7.
