B. Kohlenstofftetraehlorid verwenden. So z.
Process and device for the production of lactams by rearrangement of oximes of cyclic ketones. Lactaines of the co-, amino fatty acids are known to be produced by Beckmann rearrangement of the oximes of cyclic ketones, briefly referred to below as cyclanone oximes, at elevated temperatures in the presence of strong mineral acids, especially sulfuric acid.
This strongly exothermic reaction is difficult to control, however, since the rearrangement suddenly only sets in with larger amounts of the solution when heated to a certain higher temperature, dependent on the acid concentration, and proceeds like an avalanche with powerful heat generation., S @ o that violent explosions often occur.
For this reason, a whole series of processes has been proposed which are carried out in such a way that the production on an industrial scale and, if necessary, can proceed without interruption.
One such method consists in the gradual introduction of the oxynis and sulfuric acid, either simultaneously, that is, in the form of a solution, or separately, iii preheated sulfuric acid, or better in a preheated sulfuric acid lactam solution. The presence of the reaction product has a moderating effect on the course of the reaction. However, the released heat must be dissipated, otherwise the temperature rises above the decomposition point; this happens. according to a known method such that the reaction vessel with.
a cooling jacket is provided, in which there is a liquid which is kept at its boiling point by the heat of reaction released.
The dissolution of a greater quantity of oxime in strong sulfuric acid is. also associated with the development of heat, so that a spontaneous rearrangement and even an explosion may occur. For this reason, the oxime in an inert volatile solvent, for. B. methylene chloride, dissolved, and the solution is stirred into concentrated sulfuric acid.
The solvent medium is brought to the boil by the heat of the oxime released; However, as long as solvent is present, the temperature cannot rise, so that spontaneous rearrangement is impossible.
The present invention relates to the production of lactaniums by rearrangement of oximes of cyclic ketones in the presence of strong sulfuric acid, the oxyne being dissolved in an inert solvent.
is that at at least one such temperature it det. At which under the given conditions the rearrangement is practically instantaneous ver and this solution of a liquid containing the hydrates of sulfur trioxide at a temperature at which the Zy klanonoxim practically table under the given conditions is immediately relocated, is added.
According to a particular embodiment of the method, part of the solvent flowing down from the reflux condenser is returned to the reaction vessel in a circuit via a container, in which container the solvent is again saturated with cyclanone oxime.
In the reaction vessel, the solution of the oxime in the solvent is mixed with sulfuric acid or with a sulfuric acid lactam solution, with part of the solvent being evaporated by the heat of solution and relocation, and partly directly, partly after the condensation of the vapors in the reflux condenser flows back into the reaction vessel via the saturation container mentioned.
A part of the reaction liquid is advantageously removed at the same time, preferably via an additional device in which a higher temperature than in its own reaction vessel is maintained, whereby the rearrangement is terminated by means of complete exhaustion of the solution. becomes. The removal of the reaction liquid from the main vessel takes place advantageously at a point that is as far away as possible from the point of inflow of the fresh oxime solution. The vessel can be divided by partition walls in such a way that the solution must flow over a longer distance , e.g.
B. spiralför mig or W-shaped. In addition to the oxime solution in an inert solvent, sulfuric acid is also fed in at the same time, in an amount equal to the amount of the solution discharged, the ratio between oxime and sulfuric acid being chosen. is that highly concentrated sulfur-sour lactam solutions arise.
This ratio can be chosen so high that solidifying solutions are formed when cooling, which can then be transported easily and safely without having to use expensive and heavy acid vessels. The lactam is isolated in the usual way.
On the accompanying drawing, the required device is schematically Darge provides. Their function can be seen from the following example: In the reaction vessel 1, which is 1) ialitel. ? is provided
a solution of Zz-hlohexanon- oxime in carbon disulfide is pumped through the distribution nozzle 3 with the aid of the pump 1. 3 Ionolite (that is, 100% sulfuric acid) or 150% oleum is introduced through the pipe 5.
At the start of work, a 100% solution of 6-caprolactam in monohydrate is poured into the reaction vessel 1, or better, in such an amount that the spiral-shaped partition 6 protrudes a little over the surface.
The shape of this partition, which serves to lengthen the section between the raw material inlet and the outlet 7, can be seen from the outline in FIG. The contents of the reaction vessel 1 are then heated by means of the steam heating jacket? heated to the temperature of about 60 to 700 C, whereupon carbon disulfide is added through the pipe S.
The carbon disulfide flows through the doublet 9 over stüekiges ZZ-l @ loliexanonoxim in the container 10, which is provided with a hollowed bottom 11. The pump 4 drives the resulting Oxiinlösun-- in carbon disulfide through the distribution nozzle 3 into the preheated lactain solution in llonoliydrate. The finely divided oxime immediately begins to rearrange, with the carbon disulfide boiling due to the heat of reaction that develops.
Its vapors condense in the Ptüeldhisskiihler 12. A funnel 13 is arranged below the Rüelzflusskühler, from which a part of the condensed carbon sulfide through the pipe 1-1 into the vessel 10 for new saturation with fresh oxine is removed. So soon a sufficient amount of <RTI through the pipeline
ID = "0002.0100"> carbon disulfide has been fed in, the further feed is interrupted and the Selijveiell @ olilenstozf 7 circiu: - circulates between the reaction liquid and the reflux condenser. The excess of the return flow falls from the funnel 13 over and flows into. Reaction vessel 1 back.
The more the valve 15 is opened, the more ozini comes. into the reaction and the smaller the amount of reflux is used for direct cooling. The gear of the device can therefore be controlled very sensitively by means of the valve 15.
The OYiin is filled from the storage container 16 by the screw conveyor 17 in such a way that the formation of a saturated solution is always ensured. The solubility of the oil depends. aueli depends on the temperature of the solvent, so that the operation of the device is to a certain extent dependent on the effectiveness of the cooler 12. If necessary, the pipeline can also be cooled or heated.
The reaction product (highly saturated lactain solution in ion olive oil) is discharged through the overflow outlet 7 into vessel 1.8, the bottom of which is arranged in a manner similar to that of vessel 1.
The vessel 18 is heated to a temperature of approximately 80 ° C. by means of steam. The uni storage is completed if a smaller amount of OYim that has not been relocated gets into the outlet 7. In addition, the carbon sulphide residues are completely boiled out.
These vapors are returned to the upper part of the reaction vessel 1 through a heat-insulated pipe 10. It. Of course, it is also possible to condense sulfur colilant vapors from your vessel 18 in a special cooler and to add the condensate through the pipe 8, for example. The bottom of the glass 18 is. configured similarly to that of the vessel 1, for example according to FIG. 2 or 3.
Instead of carbon disulfide, another suitable solvent, e.g. B. Use carbon tetra-chloride. So z. B. 4 parts of Zyklolielanono-xini are dissolved in 20 parts of carbon tetrachloride and fed into the preheated reaction solution together with 6 parts of 15 / oigeni oleum. All substances which are inert under given conditions can be used as inert solvents
- earths that boil between -I0 to 1600 C at normal pressure, e.g. B. various Koblenwasserstoffe or substituted hydrocarbons.
The term rearrangement temperature is to be understood as the temperatures at which, under the given conditions, the uni-storage takes place almost instantaneously.
The conditions on which the level of this temperature depends are in particular: the type of cyclanone oil, the concentration of sulfuric acid, the heat losses, that is the size and shape of the reaction vessel and its strength, the amount of reactants Solution, etc. The procedure can be modified in details in various ways. So is z.
B. lent possible to equip the reaction vessel with a stirrer and to prevent the separation of indelible phases in coherent layers by vigorous stirring while the mixture remains in the reaction vessel, so that the course of the reaction is completely isothermal is. In this case, the Bo dentrennwand 6 can be omitted completely, or inan the same can be at a reasonable height, for.
B. in the form according to FIG. 3, it being possible for one or more stirrers to be arranged one behind the other in the resulting wide and deep channel.
With the help of the pump 4 it is possible to achieve an exact dosage of the raw materials at any time.
