fig.
Device for controlling the cutting blade in a mower.
The object of the invention is a device for controlling the reciprocating back and forth movement of the cutting blade in a mower whose blade holder is disposed, not laterally, but on either side of the plane of symmetry. of the machine, either at the front or at the rear.
This device is characterized by a balance, fixed by one of its ends on said blade and oscillating about a fixed axis, the other end comprising a buttonhole cooperating with a slide secured to the crank pin of a crank shaft, driven by continuous rotational movement while the mower is in operation.
The drawing shows an embodiment, given by way of example in no way limiting, of the control device of the cutting blade established in accordance with the invention In this drawing:
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of the device for controlling the cutting blade, in the case where the latter is arranged in front of the machine, from side to side. other of the vertical plane of symmetry,
fig. 2 being a view in horizontal section II-II and in plan from above.
In these figures, 1 is an elbow shaft, or crank shaft, driven by a continuous rotational movement, and the end crank of which is designated; 2 is the blade, formed by a series of cutting teeth, and animated with a reciprocating back-and-forth movement in a groove made dang la, blade-holder bar 3.
In the middle of the length of the. blade 2 is fixed a yoke 5 in which engages a head 4, having both sides. on the other hand, a semi-spherical surface 4a, of a large lever with two arms, or balance, 6, mounted to oscillate around an axis 7 placed on a fixed part of the machine.
The other end of the balance 6 comprises a slide, or buttonhole, 8, in which moves a slide mounted on the crankpin 1a. This slide consists of a spherical roller 9, rolling on a needle path 10 retained, on the one hand, by an upper ring 11 and, on the other hand, by the base of the locking nut 12. By the by means of this roller 9, the circular movement of the shaft 1 is transformed into a reciprocating oscillation movement of the balance 6 around its a. xe 7.
The length of the buttonhole 8 is equal to the diameter of the circumference (fig. 2) described by the point of the roller 9 furthest from the axis of the shaft 1, while its width is less than said diameter, only the displacements of the roller 9 in the transverse direction cause the oscillating movement of the balance 6. The extreme positions are shown in dotted lines in FIG. 2.
The inner walls of the buttonhole 8 being straight, while the roller 9 is spherical, the roller-buttonhole connection constitutes a ball joint assembly.
This assembly is sealed by the addition of a lower bowl 13 forming an oil reservoir, and a circular upper cover 14, provided with a gasket. you. seal 15 and maintained applied by a spring 16 on the buttonhole 8 which it covers.
