Electrothermal winding timepiece. The object of the present invention is a timepiece with electrotheimiic winding, characterized by a bi-metallic oscillating blade, heated by an electric current, and which acts on a lever causing its rotation to wind a spiral spring and in which the lever, returned by said spiral spring,
arms in its return stroke a second spiral spring housed in a barrel whose drum is engaged with the first mobile of the clockwork movement.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the timepiece forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view from the side opposite to the plate, and FIG. 2 is a section, on an enlarged scale, of the driving device, along part of the line II-II of FIG. 1.
Referring to the drawing, 1 denotes a bimetallic lamc provided with iui -winding heating the connected, on the one hand, to one of the poles of an electricity source, the other pole of which is connected by the.
terminal 2 to ground and, on the other hand, to the bimetallic strip which is fixed to an insulating base 1d by two screws 1e. 7 is a lever on which is pivoted at 9a a contact arm 9 intended to cooperate, to close and break the circuit of the winding 1a, with the free end lb of the blade 1. 10 is wie stop intended to limit the travel of the lever 7 when the latter returns to its rest position shown in FIG. 1.
The lever 7 is integral with the bung 12 to which is fixed the inner end of a first spiral spring 13 housed in a solid barrel 14. This barrel is mounted on a solid socket 15 screwed into a upper deck 17 and on which the plug 12 of the first spiral spring 13 is rotatably mounted.
The ball 14 can be fixed in several different angular positions with respect to the sleeve 15 by a screw 19 intended to engage in one of the holes 20 made in the bottom of the barrel 14, which makes it possible to adjust the initial tension of the barrel. spring 13.
In the bottom 15 'of the sleeve 15 is pi voted; the upper end of a central axis 16, the lower end of which is pivoted in a fixed bearing ià a lower bridge 18a.
On this central axis' 16, below, the lever 7, - is mounted loose a plug 22 solid -a ratchet 21; to the plug 22 is hooked the inner end of a second spiral spring 23, housed in a second barrel 24 of which the rotating drum is wedged on the central axis 16 and carries a toothed ring 25 which,
is constantly in engagement with the pinion 26 of the first mobile of the clock movement.
The arm 9 pivoted at 9a on the lever 7 has a tooth 9b - intended to engage on the end lb of the bimetallic strip. This tooth is doubled by an adjacent tooth 3 pi voted in 3a and whose oscillation is limited by a pin 3b cooperating with an oval hole. A return spring '4 tends to press the arm 9 against a stopper 5.
A pin 8 fixed on the plate in an insulating manner cooperates with the end point 9c of the arm 9.
The operation of the motor device with electrothermal winding is as follows: When the winding circuit is closed between the tooth 9b of the arm 9 and the bimetallic blade in lb,
the blade and curves. The lever 7 'is then propelled dextrorsum by the arm 9 and the upper spiral spring arm 13, the inner end of which is hooked to its plug 12 integral with the lever 7.
When the tip of the arm 9 reaches the pin 8, it moves away from the bimetallic strip which is released by interrupting the sound circuit: winding. She cools down and slowly returns to her original position.
The upper spring 13, by relaxing, returns the le- lever 7 to its rest position against the stopper 10, by a senestrorsum rotation. During this return stroke, the lever 7 drives, by the pawl 28 which it carries to the lower surface,
the ratchet 21 integral with the plug 22 to which is attached the inner end of the lower spring 23. This spring is thus reassembled.
The ratchet 21 and the bung 22 being retained in their angular position acquired by the retaining pawl 29, the spring 23 actuates, expanding lëntsment the drum of the barrel 24 which is engaged with the first mobile of the movement.
Thus the upper spiral spring 13 has the sole function of bringing back 'the lever 7 and arming, by relaxing, the lower spring 23 which alone acts as a mainspring. When the bimetallic blade makes contact with the arm 9,
it first touches the insulating tooth 3 and only makes contact after having engaged under the tooth 9b, thanks to the pivoting movement of the insulating tooth around 3a.
