Pin buckle. Despite the precautions taken in the manufacture of the ends of the barbs of buckles and buckles today in use for belts, wristwatch links, straps and. objects of this kind, it happens very often (Read these barbs are the cause of accidental snags which are not always harmless.
The pin buckle, object of the invention. <ï aims to cancel these hooking possibilities. It is characterized in that the movement of the barb in the direction of the iron. closing of the link is limited by a stop.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the pin buckle according to the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view, in the open position, of the first embodiment of which the fia. ? is a section through a plane perpendicular to the axis of the barb, immediately in front of the latter.
Figs. 3 and 4 relate to. the second the execution elm, of which the. fi-, P. is a longitudinal section and the fi-. 4 a partial perspective view. The buckle shown is intended for a wristwatch link; however, it could also be used for a belt. The difference only exists in the dimensions.
The longitudinal sides of the. loop are denoted by l (); they are formed of two metal plates connected together at one of their ends. by a tie bar 11. which one of the strands of the belt 12 is attached and, at the opposite end, by the axis 13 of a barb 14. The sides 10 are also connected by a bar. support 1.5 forming a stop for the barb and formed, by folding, of the same piece of metal from which the sides are made.
The barb 14 is made of thin metal and came (the manufacture with a covering plate 16 which is curved around the axis 13, so as to form a eyelet allowing the movement of the barb around its axis. This plate is longer than the barb in the longitudinal direction and it is oblique in relation to the latter.
The strand 17 of the link passes between the axis 13 of the barb 14 and the attachment bar 11, in addition to the. grab bar 15.
We see in fig. ?, which shows the closed loop, that the free end 17 of the link has holes 18 in which the barb 1.4 can be inserted, its free end abutting the support bar 15 as soon as a pull is made. feel along the length of the strand. The cover plate 16 is then placed on the belt and partially covers it. It is through it that the barb can be taken out of the hole where it is introduced.
It can be seen from the above that an accidental hooking up of the end of the barb is impossible, even if the cover plate is missing.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the sides of the buckle are designated by 30, the axis of the barb by 31, the tie bar by 32 and the belt by 33. The barb 34 is cut from a plate 35 which, in closed position of the buckle, presses on the sides 30 of the latter.
These sides which are notched over the length necessary to receive the plate 35 therefore form, in this embodiment, the stop limiting the travel of the barb and arranged between the axis of the barb and the bar. of the buckle. Here also the point of the barb being ,. in the use position, directed towards the lower side of the link, there is no possibility of catching; furthermore, the aesthetics of the whole gained relative to ordinary curls, the curl having the same height everywhere.
