Rohrverbindung an schraubenlinienförmig gerillten Rohren.

Fig. 9 bis 11 dargestellte Rohrverbindung.
Pipe connection on helically grooved pipes. More recently, helically grooved flexible pipes are often used for lines of all kinds, which are manufactured in such a way that tape-shaped material with an overlap is wound onto a mandrel, from a threaded socket from the mandrel. is peeled off and helically grooved, whereupon the rolls are compressed together.
Such a tube can be made from a single band of suitable material, or it can be formed from two or more bands which are wound one above the other on the mandrel, these bands then being made of different material, metal, paper, impregnated paper, Parchment paper, rubber, fabric, plastic or the like, can exist. Such helically grooved, flexible pipes can be produced for the highest, practically occurring pressures. However, there are certain difficulties in connecting such pipes.
It has already been proposed to use a nipple and a union nut for the connection of such helically grooved flexible pipes, where a hemp cord or the like was used as a seal,
which, when tightening the union nut, was pressed together between a conical recess in the bore of the nipple and a conical surface provided in the union nut and simultaneously pressed onto the pipe. Such a connection can be sufficient for lower pressures, and it proves to be tight up to a pressure of about 12 atmospheres if a lightly greased hemp cord is used as a seal.
The union nut may only be tightened slightly by hand. However, such Rohrverbindun conditions have significant disadvantages, which place narrow limits on their application. One of these disadvantages can be seen in the fact that the pipe can be easily rotated in the connection and is only held insufficiently in the axial direction so that it can be easily torn out. It is also to be feared that by vibrations, such as. B. on machines often occur that the nut is loosened and solved. If the union nut is tightened more, z. B.
With the help of a key to achieve a better fastening of the pipe, the hemp cord is pressed between the grooves of the helically grooved pipe, which can have the consequence that the grooves of the pipe diverge and are pressed flat, whereby the pipe leaks or. gets destroyed. The use of any packings which are pressed onto the outside of the pipe has the disadvantage that these packings cannot be pressed down to the bottom of the grooves of the pipe without pushing the grooves of the pipe apart and thereby damaging the pipe or destroy.
Every pipe connection of this type is therefore limited in its use to low pressures. A perfect seal on the outer wall could only be achieved by soldering the tube into a sleeve. Such soldering can only come into question for pipes that are made entirely of metal, as non-metallic interlayers such. B. those made of paper, rubber, fabric and plastic, are destroyed during soldering and thus create leaks in the pipe. The present invention overcomes these disadvantages.
The subject of the present invention is a pipe connection on helical, grooved pipes with nipples and screwed on this union nut, in which connection the end of the pipe is provided with an end sleeve, one end face of which forms the end face sealing surface of the pipe, and that a clamping ring, wel cher one of the grooving of the tube has the internal thread, is placed on the tube, which is overlapped by the union nut, in such a way,
that when the union nut is tightened, the clamping ring with the end of the pipe encompassed by it is pressed against the nipple in order to achieve a perfect seal between the frontal sealing surface of the nipple and the end sleeve of the pipe.
In the drawing, two example embodiments of the subject invention are shown together with items and execution variants of the same. 1 shows an axial section through a first embodiment of a pipe connection for helically grooved pipes, FIG. 2 shows an end view and FIGS. 3a and 3b show two embodiments of a clamping ring for the pipe connection according to FIG. 1 in side view,
4 to 6 three design variants of clamping rings and union nuts this pipe connection in half an axial section, Fig. 7 and 8 two design variants of end sleeves placed on the pipe this pipe connection in axial section, Fig. 9 shows an axial section through a second embodiment a pipe connection for helically grooved pipes with additional wire braiding,
FIG. 10 is an end view and FIG. 11 is an end view of the clamping ring of the pipe connection according to FIG. 9.
1 with the helically grooved tube made of strip-shaped material is referred to. An end sleeve 2, which has a flange 3, is fully inserted into the end of this tube 1. The end of the raw 1 rests against this flange 3. The end of the tube 1 provided with the end sleeve 2 is inserted into the offset bore of a nipple 4, a sealing ring 5 being inserted between the shoulder of the offset bore of the nipple 4 and the flange 3 of the end sleeve 2.
Behind the end sleeve 2, a slotted, resilient clamping ring 6 is placed on the tube 1, which has a corrugation of the tube 1 corresponding thread on its inner surface.
Thanks to its internal thread, the clamping ring 6 is axially immovable on the pipe 1. The clamping ring 6 is covered by a union nut 7, which is screwed onto a thread 8 on the connection-side part of the nipple 4. The inside of the union nut 7 has a conical surface 9 which acts on a rounded surface 10 at the rear end of the clamping ring 6.
By tightening the union nut 7 on the thread 8 of the nipple 4, the conical surface 9 on the one hand compresses the clamping ring 6 and presses it firmly onto the pipe 1, and on the other hand this clamping ring 6 together with the end of the pipe 1 grasped by it , in which the end sleeve 2 is inserted, against the nipple _l: pressed in such a way that the sealing ring 5 from the flange 3 of the end sleeve 2 is pressed firmly against the shoulder of the bore of the nipple 4 and a perfect seal is achieved.
Since the clamping ring 6 has an internal thread corresponding to the grooving of the pipe, it is even when tightened to the greatest possible extent. the union nut 7 ruled out that the grooves of the tube 1 are pressed apart or otherwise damaged.
Likewise, if the grooves of the end of the pipe 1 lying between this clamping ring 6 and the flange 3 of the end sleeve 2 are pressed together when the union nut 7 is tightened, this not only does not result in any weakening of this pipe, but on the contrary, it stiffens becomes.
One circumferential half of the clamping ring 6 is advantageously bent slightly inward, as can be seen from FIG. The result is that the clamping ring 6 cannot rotate on the tube 1, particularly when the union nut 7 is tightened.
Instead of the slotted clamping ring 6, a two-part clamping ring (FIG. 3b) could also be provided, the two parts of which would be pressed together and firmly onto the pipe 1 when the union nut 7 is tightened.
The cooperating surfaces of the union nut 7 on the one hand and the clamping ring 6 on the other hand can be designed in different ways. Thus, according to FIG. 4, the union nut has a conical surface 11 on the inside and the clamping ring also has a conical surface 12, while according to FIG. 5 the union nut has a rounded shoulder 13 and the clamping ring has a conical surface 14. The effect is the same in both cases.
Finally, as shown in FIG. 6, instead of a slotted clamping ring, a closed-loop clamping ring 15 that can be screwed onto the grooves of the tube 1 can be used. In this case, there is no need for conical surfaces on the clamping ring and on the union nut.
The end sleeve pushed onto the end of the tube 1 can also be made in various ways. In Fig. 7, an end sleeve 16 is shown, which has an enlarged bore against the pipe 1 into which the pipe 1 is inserted, and Fig. 8 shows an end sleeve 17 in which the end of the pipe res 1 in. An annular groove is used.
If helically grooved tubes of the type described are to be exposed to high pressure, they are provided with a wire braid. The pipe connection shown in FIGS. 9 to 11 is particularly well suited for such helically grooved pipes provided with a wire braid.
18 denotes the helically grooved tube and 19 its wire braid. In the end of the tube 18 an end sleeve 20 is set, which has a flange 21 at which the end of the tube 18 abuts. The end of the tube 18 with the end sleeve 20 is inserted into the remote bore of the nip pels 23 with the interposition of a sealing ring 22.
In front of the end sleeve 20 is a slotted clamping ring 24, which on its inner surface has a thread corresponding to the grooves of the pipe 18 and on the outside a body surface that widens towards the nipple 23. This clamping ring 24 is pushed under the wire braiding 19 of the tube 18 in such a way that it comes to rest on its cone surface.
A union nut 25, which engages over this clamping ring 24, is screwed onto a thread 26 of the nipple 23 on the connection side. A ring 27 with a conical inner surface corresponding to the conical surface of the clamping ring 24 is inserted into this union nut 25. When pulling the union nut 25, the ring 27 is pushed onto the clamping ring 24, where it is pressed together and against the nipple 23 by this.
As a result, on the one hand, the clamping ring 24 is pressed firmly onto the pipe 18 and the end of the pipe 18 with the end sleeve 20 in the offset bore of the nipple 23, so that a perfect seal results. The wire braiding 19 of the tube 18 is clamped between the conical surface of the clamping ring 24 and the conical inner surface of the ring 27 and held.
