A sealed assembly device comprising an unbreakable protective .glass, for example a watch crystal, and its support. The invention relates to a waterproof a.ssembla-ge device comprising an unbreakable protective glass, for example a watch glass, and its support formed, for example, by the middle part or the bezel of a watch case. watch, this crystal being adjusted by a re edge, in a support notch.
This device is characterized in that the rim of the glass has a bulge penetrating into a corresponding groove made in the lateral face of the notch of the support.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig.1 shows, in partial section. the first embodiment, while FIG. 2 shows, also in partial section, but on a larger scale, the second embodiment which is only a variant of the first.
In the drawing, 3 is a round mirror made of unbreakable material. This crystal is adjusted by its inclined rim 4 in a notch 5 of the middle part 6 of a watch case. The crystal has at its base, that is to say at the end of the rim 4, a bulge formed by a bead 7 which penetrates through a corresponding groove 8 made in the laced face of the notch 5 of the middle part. 6.
The ice 3 is introduced hot into the notch 5 of the caseband 6 by means of a tool suitable for this operation. Once. in place, the glass extends into the notch 5 and the groove 8 and is held there securely by exerting a certain tension on the lateral face of its housing, so that the assembly joint is practically sealed and, therefore, waterproof and dustproof.
As the ice is almost embedded in its support 6, by its bead 7, it is impossible for it to become acid free and get lost.
To best ensure the tightness of the assembly joint of the lens, one could insert in the bottom of the groove 8 a compressible and waterproof garment, for example in the form of a thin rubber ring. or in equivalent material.
Fig. 2 shows this variant execution, where we can see the unbreakable crystal 3 ', with its inclined rim 4' and the bead 7 ', the middle part 6' and its glass notch 5 'presenting a groove 8' . In the bottom of this groove is inserted and compressed a gasket - in the form of a thin rubber ring.
The support for the crystal could be constituted by a bezel or any other housing element, whatever the shape of this element, since the invention is applicable not -only to glasses. of round protection, but also to glasses and glass supports whose shape differs from the round shape, the assembly device being realizable in the construction of cases for all kinds of instruments. of measurement.
It may be advantageous, for example in certain special glasses for watch cases, to locate the bead 7 respectively 7 ', not at the base of the crystal, but in a median plane of the glass rim 4 respectively. 4 ',
so that this bead of ice penetrates into a groove 8 respectively 8 'situated at the entrance of the notch 5 respectively 5' of the support 6 respectively 6 'of the ice.
