Solid fuel burner. The present invention relates to a burner, intended in particular for equipping heat generators in general (boilers, heaters, ovens, etc.) and gas generators, supplied with various solid fuels: coal, wood, waste. miscellaneous, etc.
This burner, operating by gravity, is characterized in that it comprises a combustion grate preceded by a pre-combustion corridor following a loading hopper, the whole forming an assembly which has an inclination substantially equal to the slope of 'landslide of the fuel to be burned, said assembly being combined with a pusher apron suspended by cables and having means for raising it to the upper part of the hopper during loading,
said pusher apron then being released during combustion during which it accompanies, by its own weight, to the bottom of the aforementioned grate, said fuel by pushing it lightly to help it slide and thus maintain constant the supply of this grid under a layer of regular thickness, said burner also having a conduction air supply as well as an equalizer of the thickness of the downward layer of fuel.
In the preferred embodiments, this pusher apron also forms a screen against the radiation from the furnace on the hopper which thus remains cold and, at the end of combustion, it facilitates the descent of the slag subsequently evacuated by the hopper. lower part of the grid.
During this journey, the pusher apron remains attached by cables, which allows it to be reassembled at the end of the operation either by manual control or by motor control.
A safety device can be provided so that the hopper can only be loaded when the pusher apron is raised, a lock keeping it suspended in its upper position as long as the hopper is open.
The pressing face of this pusher apron may have spikes which penetrate into the fuel to break up the zones of agglutination.
The pusher apron may be a rigid block, with guide rollers facilitating its movement or else an articulated set of independent but integral elements.
The accompanying drawing represents, at; by way of example, an embodiment of the burner forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of said burner, after loading the hopper, and FIG. 2 is a corresponding view, at the end of combustion.
In the drawing, a is a combustion chamber of a generator, b an inclined combustion grate, very permeable to air, of the stepped type, for example, c a precombustion corridor, similarly inclined, with solid walls, preceding the grid b and following a loading hopper d, to varying degrees of capacity, depending on the fuel chosen and the application made of this burner. A pusher apron e extends over the entire width of the grid b; it is hung by cables winding on a drum f, which can be operated by crank or by motor.
This drum is fitted with a stop pawl combined with a locking device for a loading door g, with inspection window g '. h is an interval between the grid b and the bottom of the chamber a, for the evacuation of the slag; i is an ashtray door with its primary air inlet shutter i. The burner further comprises a secondary air inlet j and a thickness equalizer 7c of the descending fuel layer.
The fuel, subjected to its own weight, slowly descends on the grate as combustion progresses and, under the effect of the pusher apron, this descent takes place with regularity, by sliding, in a layer of The thickness is constant from start to finish, so that the fuel can be completely consumed on the grate while the slag accumulates at its lower part.
This results in a rational staging of the combustion zones and complete combustion, without excess air, without unburnt and its smoke, corresponding to a reduced efficiency.
