<EMI ID=1.1>
"Fire. Open to recovery".
The main patent n [deg.] 852,396 relates to open fires and particularly open fires with recovery.
One of the characteristics of this patent consists in that at the base of the hearth is arranged a gas train connected from below to a supply pipe and to an adjustment block.
The present improvement has the purpose of providing this gas heating device with some additional characteristics, so as to improve its efficiency and to facilitate its use.
An open fire according to the main patent and produced according to the present improvement is characterized in that the gas train is mounted on a pan made of cast iron or other fire-resistant material, adapted to fit into the recess of the base of the fireplace. usually provided for the ashtray grid and carrying on its upper face a thermo-torque pilot light and on its underside the power supply and adjustment unit, so that the heating device forms a removable whole.
According to the further development, the tank has in its central part surrounded by the gas train and at a place higher than said ramp an air supply.
To better understand the characteristics of the present improvement, they are now described on the basis of the appended drawing, by way of example only, countering by:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved gas heater for open fires, and Figure 2 is a cross section through the device of Figure 1, shot through 90 [deg.].
As can be seen in the drawing, the gas heater for open fire comprises a plate 1 made of cast iron or other fire-resistant material, which has a peripheral rim 1 'projecting upwardly to form a pan and a peripheral step 1 ". protruding downward to accommodate the location of the open fire ashtray grate.
This plate carries on its upper face a gas train 2 and on its lower face a power supply and adjustment unit 3 for said ramp. A thermocouple pilot light 4 is provided for lighting the. ramp ; she is
<EMI ID = 1.1>
positive connection protrudes under the plate leaving an air passage 4 'between the pilot and the plate.
In its central part, the plate 1 is shaped with an element 5 projecting upwards in the form of a truncated cone, the base 5 'giving access under the plate and the top 5 "being open. This projecting element 5 is therefore located at the bottom. center of gas train 2.
In the tank 1 on the ramp 2 is loaded a certain quantity of refractory materials 6 in the form of ash. In the tank, on these ashes, are then placed refractory logs (not shown). Before loading the ash, it is planned to place in the tank, on the pilot light 4, a hollow element made of refractory material advantageously in the shape of a piece of log to protect said pilot light and prevent it from heating up. In the tank, under the ash and on the ramp, it is still planned to put a filter layer preventing crushing or settling by the weight of the refractory logs.
Thanks to the pyramidal element 5, air will be able to be sucked through said element by the gas exiting from the ramp 2 and a better efficiency of the burner will thus be obtained. By the clearance provided in the mounting of the pilot in the plate, is also obtained here an air suction.
Since the whole device is mounted on the plate and this plate can adapt to various types of open fires existing or to be built, a truly univsrsel burner is obtained.
This improvement applies partic-larly to open fires with recovery, but of course also to open fires without a heat recovery device.
