Dans cAte forme d'exécution (fig. 7 à 9), un sabot25 (fig. 7 et10) dont la forme correspondà la -disposition des entailles 22, 23, 24 des lames, est supporté par un levier 26 claveté sur un axe27 monté de façonà pouvoir osciller et coulisser dans un palier double28 et qu'un ressort de rappel29 tend constammentà ramener dans la position d'attente représentée en fig. 7;
Automatic device for splitting, after quenching, ribbons of thin safety razor blades. This invention relates to an automatic device for splitting, after quenching, ribbons of thin safety razor blades.
As is known, the thin ras # o, ir ', safety blades are frequently obtained by circulating, through through a sharpening machine and < B> to be sharpened, steel bands of suitable dimensions, in which holes, notches, openings, etc. have been made beforehand, which must be presented by the finished slats.
The individual blades are most of the time delimited, on the tape -, by break lines, drawn during setting up the tape, - so that, once the quenching operations, d After sharpening and the like, the individual blades can be easily squeezed from each other for delivery to, consumption.
This band splitting operation is performed every part of the time to there. hand, which requires a considerable amount of labor. It has already proposed to carry out this fractionation to using devices which may or may not be added to the machine to </ B> sharpening, but these known devices-require, in general, that the strip of blades breaking through the machines be placed strictly in synchronism with the splitting device, failing which it is not possible to 'obtain normal operation.
It is then necessary to provide said machines with gear wheels set rigorously to the pitch of the strip or ribbon of blades, which is very difficult to obtain, since this pitch varies depending on whether the tape cutting press or rolling mill has left it more or less slippage, or whether the tape or strip has. undergone a modification of more or less important length during the quenching operation. In addition, for very thin blades, the tape or strip resists very poorly in contact with the drive studs required by this type of work.
The invention which reuiies to these drawbacks comprises an automatic device for the fract1-onnc # ment, after quenching, ribbons of thin safety razor blades emerging from a machine in which the tape slides in a-. aid, the, end blade being separated from the tape at the moment when a marked break line on the tape arrives at the exit of the guide, the device has a slave arm < B> to a command causing it to strike the blade sharply on one of its faces to obtain the rupture, the moment of the strike being determined by a feeler which penetrates into the notches presented by the strip upstream of the blade to. separate.
In the appended drawings which represent, there as examples of embodiment of the invention, embodiments of a splitting device or cutting of the strip of blades in order to obtain them. Thin safety razor blades sharpened or ready to go at Party.

Fig. 10, 11, 12 are schematic views of a release locking device, shown in FIG. 7 and 8, said figs. 10, 11, 12 schematically showed the trigger lock in its various working phases.
Fig. 13, 14, 15 are plan views of steel strip notched and scored in various ways.
In the embodiment of FIG. 1 to 6, the device comprises a shaft 1 on which is keyed a pulley '-) connected by a belt 3 to a second pulley eccentric 4 keyed on the shaft 5 (fig. 2 ') mounted in fixed bearings 6, 7.
On the shaft 5 are mounted, on the one hand, a feeler or locator arm 8 as well as a splitter arm 9 keyed on the 'tree 5 or attached to it in any suitable manner and suitably offset from one to the other.
The guide path 10 of the strip 11 of blades has near its end a notch 19- allowing the free passage of the feeler arm 8 to allow it to come and wear on the flap of blades It.
This embodiment is intended for the fractionation of the tape, -de blades comprising. as shown in fig. 13, symmetrical notches 13, 14 on the side edges of the boards, the strip of, boards Il present between each group of two notches 13, 14. a line of rupture 1 .3 joining these-notches.
The operation is as follows: The shaft, 1 receiving a continuous rotational movement, transmits this movement to, the belt 3. When the feeler arm 8, which enters the notch 12, rests on a blade such as 16 (fig. 1 and 2 ) Ci, is thus maintained in the substantially horizontal position shown in FIG. 1, the eccentric 4 has its eccentricity radius turned towards the shaft 1, so that the belt. 3 relaxed, - smooth on pulley 4, very low grip hand holds the components in the position shown,
with a light contact of the arm 8 with the blade 16.
When, due to the advancement of the blade tape il, the notch 13 comes to place # under the end of the arm 8, </ B > the latter passes to through said notch (fig. to) under the action of the friction exerted by the belt 3 on the eccentric pulley 4.
As the rotational movement of the shaft 5 carrying the arm 8 increases, the tension of the belt 3 increases by producing a positive movement of the shaft 5 and of the splitting arm 9. The latter passing from the position of fig . 3 to the position of fig. 5, Zn C arrives on the blade 16 - exerting strong pressure on the latter, determining the, G & ssure, at the break line 15,
this operation being carried out at the moment when the break line 15 is on the extreme edge 17 of the guide path Il </ B> (fig. 6).
The crew of axis 5, arms 8 and 9 and pulley 4 continuing to turn under the impulse of the belt 3, the arm 8 penetrates to again into the notch 13 for come to press on the next blade, the rotation of said team being stopped due to the contact of the arm 8 with the strip of blades 11 in the sliding position of the belt < B> 3 on pulley 4, the application force of the arm 8 being practically insignificant on the blade such as 16 which supports it easily .
We realize that when there is no ribbon of blades -in the path of guid # agq 10, the wheel 4, its axis to and the arms 8, 9 would run uninterrupted. These are the interruptions of rotation produced by the friction of the 8 arm on the blade band, when the. pulley 4 receives only an insignificant drive from its control shaft J., that it is possible to achieve the rigorous setting between the milling device and the strip of blades. This sliding can be more or less slow without drawbacks and without changing the principle of the invention.
When it comes to effecting the fractionation, strip ribbons do not contain notches on their side edges, as is the case, for example, in. fig. 14, where the individual blades 18 at rounded ends or at ends in the form of an arc of a circle 19, 9-0 < / B> are separated by a transverse tongue 21, the device is then given the shape shown in FIG. 7 to 9; in this case, the registration is obtained by using the shape and arrangement of the holes such as 22, 23, 24 (fig. 15 ) to trigger the disconnector arm.
In this embodiment (fig. 7 to 9), a shoe 25 (fig. 7 and 10) </ B>, the shape of which corresponds to the -position of the notches 22, 23, 24 of the blades, is supported by a lever 26 keyed on a axle 27 mounted so to be able to oscillate and slide in a double bearing 28 and a return spring 29 </ B > constantly tends to return to the waiting position shown in fig. 7;
the axis 27 has at its rear end a lock 30 intended to retain the arm feeler 8. The lever 26 comprises at its free end a tail 31 intended at </ B > come and engage under a stop 32 integral with the bearing 28. The guide path 10 is notched with a chimney 33 of suitable dimensions to allow free passage of the shoe 25.
In this embodiment, the securing arm comprises two elements 34, 35 suitably offset to come to act suckingly; on the blade to split.
Of course, the shoe 25 which abuts on the tape of the moving blades has a variable shape depending on the arrangement of the blades, said blades possibly having either the internal openings of FIG. 13, is still from fig. 14.
The machiw-, being in normal operation, the strip of blades circling as in the first case, in the direction of the arrow F, the shoe 25 rubs on blades such as 18, and when it finds its exact location opposite the cut-out parts of said blade, it engages (fig. 8 </ B > and 11). The blade 18 with which the shoe 25 engages drives the latter which slides the axis 27 in its bearing 28 by compressing its spring 29. The lock 30 in its displacement then abandons the end of the lever < B> 8,
the shaft 5 entering in rotation (as in the -las do fig. 1 to 6) to come to project the splitting arm 34 on the protruding blade 36 (fig. 8 and 9). When the arm 34 has exerted its action, the rotation of the adshaft 5 continuing, the arm 35 arrives at its turn and strikes on the tongue 21, the latter having then exceeded 1 the edge 17 of the guide 10.
The stop 32 has a lower face inclined in the direction of the length, so that when the axis 27 arrives in its driving position -extreme by the blade to cut, the shank 31 of the lever 26 is lowered by lifting the lever to release the shoe 25 from the blade. The assembly of the axis 27, of the lever 26 and of the shoe 25 then returns back to the position of FIG. 7 to bring back to again the stop 30 on the trajectory of the bias 8 and stop it when its passage.
The operation described is reproduced equally well in the embodiment of FIG. 1 to 6 than in the embodiment of fig. 7 to 12 each time the continuously moving strip of blades advances the length of a blade, said blade projecting over the open end of the guide 10. An absolutely automatic operation of an entire machine is thus achieved, the band which, in this, flush, advances without stopping receiving to its passage between the grinding wheels. the sharpening machine not shown the desired sharpening. and each time a blade protrudes from the extreme edge of the guide 10, this blade being dry-hipped as well as a vent:
uel- the tongue 21, -when the strip of blades has the di-sposition of fig. 14. The splitting of the blades is ensured automatically by the shape of the strip, or by the external shape as in the case of FIG. 1 to 6, for the bands having the shapes of fig. 13, either by the shape of the internal sizes as in the case of fig. 7 to 12 for strips of strips having the arrangement of fig. 14 and 15. Of course,
this last form of device could also be used for the splitting of the blades of the strip having the arrangement of FIG. 13 and in all embodiments, fractionation is normally provided without the need for any adjustment.
In the form of the execution of fig. 7 to 12, the shoe could be formed simply by three suitable studs, when it comes to splitting blades with the arrangement! of fig. 14 and 1.5. In this case, in fact, the shoe can only engage in the correct position ,, etaut, given that the distances 37 and 38 (fig. 14) are unequal. The penetration of the shoe into the blade for the operation of the splitting arm can only take place if the three studs enter together into the holes made in the blade.
Well. heard, instead of. directing shoe 26 and of the mechanical feeler arm 8, one could have the electrical contacts in the form of a feeler or other, determining the setting: in operation, either mechanical or of the arm or the actuator of any suitable arrangement.
The invention is applicable for the fractionation of thin safety razor blades of any shape and arrangement.
