Au chariot 2 est pivotée une poulie 16 autour de laquelle peut passer un câble 17 dont l'une des extrémités 18 est attachée à l'entretoise 11 et dont l'autre extrémité 19 est destinée à être actionnée manuellement par un usager; ce câble 17 est porté par deux poulies 20 et 21 respectivement pivotées sur des supports métalliques 22 et 23 soudés au fer 1; de plus, entre l'attache 11 et la poulie 16, le câble 19 est destiné à déplacer verti calement une poulie 24, adaptée à un étrier 25, dont l'une des extrémités comporte un crochet 26 auquel peut être fixé un récipient 27, et dont l'autre extrémité porte un buttoir 28; ce dernier est destiné à presser contre une traverse-buttée 29, faisant partie d'un bras 30;
L'engin élévateur représenté sur les fig. 1 et 2, plus spécialement employé pour retirer du fourrage d'un silo, est utilisé comme suit: Le récipient 27 étant rempli, une traction est opérée à l'extrémité 19 du câble 17 de façon à faire monter la poulie 24 jusqu'à ce que le buttoir 28 de l'étrier 25 vienne soule ver la traverse-buttée 29, ce qui a pour résultat de faire pivoter le bras 30, et de dégager sa traverse 32 de l'échancrure corres pondante 33, et par conséquent de libérer le chariot 2;
celui-ci se déplace alors dans le sens de la flèche 39 du fait de la traction opérée par le câble 17, tandis que la traverse 32 glisse en appuyant sur l'âme du fer 1 ensuite de l'action des ressorts 35 sur le bras 30; puis lorsque cette traverse 32 arrive en regard de l'échancrure 34, elle pénètre dans celle-ci, ce qui a pour conséquence d'immo- biliser à nouveau le chariot. 2, qui se trouve alors au droit de l'emplacement choisi pour décharger le récipient 27;
L'engin élévateur représenté sur les fig. 3 et 4 est utilisé comme suit: Le récipient 27 étant plein, le câble 17 est actionné par un usager de façon à faire monter l'étrier 25, dont le buttoir 28 s'engage entre les supports 43 et 44 qui s'écartent, il soulève ensuite, par l'intermédiaire de la tra- verse-buttée 29, le bras 30, de façon à dégager la traverse-arrêt 32 de l'échancrure 33 que possède l'âme du fer 1;
à l'aide du câble 17, le chariot 2 est légèrement déplacé afin que le bras30 soit libéré, puis l'usager laisse aller le câble 17 jusqu'à ce que le buttoir 28 prenne appui sur les supports 43 et 44, qui se sont rapprochés sous l'effet des ressorts 66 et 67, et qui transmettent ainsi le poids du récipient 27 au chariot 2; ce dernier peut alors être déplacé en opérant un effort de traction relativement petit jusqu'à ce que, d'une part, la traverse 32 vienne en engage ment dans une échancrure non représentée et, d'autre part, le levier-buttoir 53 vienne presser sur la rampe 52, et déplace l'organe de commande 57, qui écarte les arbres 41 et 42, de façon à libérer le buttoir 28;

this cable passing moreover on two pou lies pivoted on two supports fixed to the aforementioned rail, means being provided, on the one hand, to move the carriage in the opposite direction to that resulting from a traction on the cable and, on the other hand hand, to immobilize the cart.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the lifting device which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation view thereof. Fig. 2 is a sectional view along I-I of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a view in elevation of an alternative embodiment of the carriage and of the attachment device.
Fig. 4 is an enlarged sectional view along II-II of FIG. 3, and fig. 5 is a view of another embodiment of a hooking device.
The lifting device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a T iron 1 on which a carriage 2 is intended to move; this comprises, intended to roll on the wings 5 and 6 of the iron 1, on the one hand, two rollers 4 pivoted on two uprights 3, and, on the other hand, two rollers 7 pivoted on two uprights 8, these uprights being assembled using lon gerons 9 and 10, which are assembled in pairs by means of spacers 11 and 12.
The bar 1 is fixed to a beam 13 by the intermediary of stirrups 14 and 15.
The carriage 2 is pivoted a pulley 16 around which can pass a cable 17, one end 18 of which is attached to the spacer 11 and the other end 19 of which is intended to be actuated manually by a user; this cable 17 is carried by two pulleys 20 and 21 respectively pivoted on metal supports 22 and 23 welded to the iron 1; moreover, between the attachment 11 and the pulley 16, the cable 19 is intended to vertically move a pulley 24, adapted to a stirrup 25, one of the ends of which comprises a hook 26 to which a receptacle 27 can be attached, and the other end of which carries a stopper 28; the latter is intended to press against a cross-stop 29, forming part of an arm 30;
one of the ends of the latter is pivoted to the axis 31 of the pulley 16, and its other end carries a cross-stop 32, intended to come into engagement in one of the notches 33 or 34 that has the soul of the iron 1, when it comes to immobilizing the carriage 2; the side members 9 of the carriage 2 are connected to the arm 30 by means of two springs 35, intended to press the cross-stop 32 against the web of said iron 1.
To the uprights 8 is fixed a cable 36 passing over a pulley 37 pivoted on the aforementioned support 23, this cable 36 carrying a counterweight 38 intended to move the carriage 2 in the opposite direction to the arrow 39.
The lifting device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, more especially used to remove fodder from a silo, is used as follows: The container 27 being filled, traction is operated at the end 19 of the cable 17 so as to raise the pulley 24 up to that the stopper 28 of the stirrup 25 comes to raise the stopper-stopper 29, which has the result of making the arm 30 pivot, and to release its crosspiece 32 from the corresponding notch 33, and consequently to free carriage 2;
the latter then moves in the direction of arrow 39 due to the traction operated by the cable 17, while the cross member 32 slides by pressing on the core of the iron 1 then by the action of the springs 35 on the arm 30; then when this cross member 32 arrives opposite the notch 34, it enters the latter, which has the consequence of immobilizing the carriage again. 2, which is then to the right of the location chosen for unloading the container 27;
under the action of the weight of the latter, the user lets the cable 17 slide in the opposite direction to that operated for traction and this until the container 2 7 reaches the desired height where it is then emptied; then traction is again operated on the cable 17, which causes the pulley 24 to rise, the bracket 25 of which rotates the arm 30 and consequently releases the carriage 2; the latter then moves under the action of the counterweight 38 in the opposite direction to the arrow 39, until the arm 30 is again immobilized by the notch 33.
A stop device, not shown, is provided to fix the cable 17 in a determined position.
The lifting device partially shown in fig. 3 and 4 comprises, movable on a rail 1, a carriage 2 comprising two side members 9 in angle irons, on which are arranged four rollers 40, divided into two groups; these rollers are pivoted on two shafts 41 and 42 carrying two supports 43 and 44; these shafts 41 and 42 are connected by springs 66 and 67 and their ends are intended to move in longitudinal openings 45 made in the lanyards 9.
The carriage 2 further comprises two uprights 46, to each of which is slidably adapted a control member 47 having two slides 48 and 49; in these latter are engaged two guides 50 and 51 fixed to the corresponding amount 46.
Each control member 47 comprises at one of its ends a ramp 52 against which the stopper levers 53 adapted to the rail 1 are capable of pressing, and at its other end a triangular part 54 intended to move the shaft 41 away from the shaft. 42 and therefore the supports 43 and 44 from each other. A return spring 55 fixed, on the one hand, to a guide 50 and, on the other hand, to the corresponding control member 47, returns the latter to its initial position when it has been moved by the levers. ridges 53 and that the action of these is no longer felt.
A stirrup 25, carried by a pulley 24, is fixed a stopper 28, having a vertical cross section, triangular in shape, the point of which is directed upwards, so as to be able to separate the supports 43 and 44, then resting on them to transmit the weight of the container 27 to them. The latter can be suspended from a hooking device 26 comprising a rigid part 56 to which two arms 57 and 58 are articulated; one of the ends of each of these is connected by a spring 59 to the rigid part 56, and its other end is engaged in a corresponding handle 60 of the container 27.
The latter is provided with a base 61 adapted to pivot, which has a bar 62 with which a hook 63 can come into engagement, with which a rod 64 fixed to the arm 57 is provided.
The lifting device shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 is used as follows: The container 27 being full, the cable 17 is actuated by a user so as to raise the stirrup 25, the stopper 28 of which engages between the supports 43 and 44 which move apart, it then lifts, by means of the cross-stop 29, the arm 30, so as to release the cross-stop 32 from the notch 33 which the core of the iron 1 has;
using the cable 17, the carriage 2 is slightly moved so that the arm 30 is released, then the user lets the cable 17 go until the stopper 28 is supported on the supports 43 and 44, which are brought together under the effect of the springs 66 and 67, and which thus transmit the weight of the container 27 to the carriage 2; the latter can then be moved by operating a relatively small tensile force until, on the one hand, the cross member 32 engages in a notch not shown and, on the other hand, the stopper lever 53 comes into engagement press on the ramp 52, and moves the control member 57, which separates the shafts 41 and 42, so as to release the stopper 28;
the latter then moves downwards with the wheel 24, the hooking device 26 and the container 27; at a given moment, the latter rests on a container not shown, the hooking device 26 then descends slightly, the arms 57 and 58 move apart under the effect of the springs 59, and the hook 63 is released from the bar 62; finally, traction is again carried out on the cable 17, the bottom 61 opens, and the receptacle 27 rises and empties into the receptacle.
The hooking device shown in FIG. 5 also has two arms 57 and 58 which, when the container 27 is placed on a support not shown, can move apart under the action of the springs 59 and disengage from the handles of the container 27. Eyebolts 65 fixed to the rigid part 56 limit the pivoting of the arms 57 and 58 actuated by the springs 59.
