Construction insulation panel. The object of the present invention is a construction insulating panel. This panel is characterized by at least. a layer of fibrous material compressed with a cement-based binder, the total thickness of which is of the same order as that of an element to be built and whose resistance is sufficient to support the loads that this construction element will have to support, .and by at least one more compact coating layer of lesser thickness intended to constitute one of the faces of this element,
the whole so that the total thickness of the panel is equal to that of the finished building element.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of a panel according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial cross section thereof and FIG. 2 is a similar section of a variant showing the joint between two adjacent panels.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the panel comprises an insulating middle part 1 of relatively great thickness, consisting of wood wool compressed with a cement-based binder. The two faces of the panel are each covered with a plate of lesser thickness 2 and 3, cemented, on the middle part. The plate 2, intended to constitute the external covering of a wall, for example, is made of extra-hard stone resistant to impact and humidity. The plate S, intended to form the interior lining of the same wall, is composed of an agglomerate of sawdust.
These panels therefore constitute complete wall elements, their total thickness being equal to that of the finished wall. They. to be assembled edge to edge with a small layer of cement.
The middle part is strong enough to withstand the loads of the pa king thus formed. It is insulating both thermally and acoustically. The cement-based binder contains a little chloride which tends to mineralize the wood wool quickly. The latter thus becomes incombustible.
As a variant, the cladding plates can be made directly on the middle part, in the form of a plaster. The outer cladding can be made of artificial or natural stone, such as marble, -etc., Or by a cement. extra hard. This outer coating can be polished. It is intended to withstand moisture, sun and all weather conditions, while providing good impact protection and having a good exterior appearance.
The interior coating may be formed by any insulating agglomerate based on cement, gypsum, etc. It is intended to form the interior face of the wall either in its final finish, or to be further covered with wallpaper.
For some. internal walls, there will be panels comprising on each side a coating of the interior type such as the coating S of FIG. 1. For bathrooms, kitchens, etc., an internal coating of the external type will be provided, such as coating 2 of FIG. 1.
As a variant, it is possible to provide panels formed of two halves, 1 and 1a (FIG. 2), each comprising a coating of bitumen 1 'respectively 1a' and assembled with a certain offset relative to each other by so as to make it possible to join the: panels with a covering coated with bitumen ver nis °.
It is also possible to provide more than two layers of compressed fibrous material, for the panels of great thickness, the layers being connected by cement or bitumen.
For light constructions, it will often be sufficient panels comprising only part 1 and part 2; the finish of part 1 being sufficient for the interior.
These panels can be used not only for erecting walls, but naturally also for all other parts of buildings, such as floors and roofs. Panels of various thicknesses will be provided to correspond to the respective loads of these various parts. For very large constructions, panels with side housings will be provided for the members of a metal frame, for example.
The main advantage of these panels is that they form complete elements, each constituting an integral part of a wall, for example, while the existing panels are generally limited either to the construction of rough walls, before be coated later, .or the coating of walls already built rough.
Another advantage of these panels is their great insulating power, based on the fact that they have a large number of small closed air spaces, so as to reduce the effect of convection to a minimum.
To ensure an assembly giving an overall result of an impeccable appearance, the faces of the panels may be machine ground. Likewise, to ensure a good joint between the adjacent panels, the joints are not as molded, the fields of the panels can be finished by machine.
Another variant will consist in making at least one of the coatings in synthetic resin.
