wall for light constructions. This invention relates to a wall for light constructions comprising several juxtaposed walls formed of wooden planks separated by interstices and of which, those of a wall are all arranged so that the fibers of the wood are directed in the same direction, while that the planks of a concave wall have the fibers of the wood direct them to those of the planks of the first wall, the various walls being interconnected by uprights, of which,
the sides are provided with longitudinal parts alternately projecting and receding for the junction of the walls juxtaposed to said uprights.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, a as an example, in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a side view, the wall being provided with an insulating coating; y Fig. 2 is a perspective section; Fig. 3 is a horizontal cut.
A, B, C are three jaxtapo- Sized wooden walls formed of wooden planks a-, # -ant, cellps of each wall, the wood fibers directed Z # -in the same direction.
In each time two contiguous walls, the wood fibers of the boards of one of them are directed transversely to the wood fibers of the boards of the other wall, that is to say that, while the wood fibers of the boards of the wall B, for example, have a direction to roughly ver- ii-wedge, those of the boards of the walls A < / B> and C are -directed to roughly horizontally.
The various planks forming, each time, a wall are spaced a little apart, that is to say as much as necessary to allow the expansion and contraction movements to which the wood is subject without any warping in the wall.
The interconnection of the walls is obtained with the help of wooden D uprights and - small iron E plates on which 'interlock the junction boards of the intermediate wall B, coming together to longitudinal tabs provided on the sides of the uprights D, which present, in addition, part, longitudinal recesses to receive the ends -des boards of the walls A, C. E, xtérieur; to the A, C walls an insulating coating F is applied which at the same time serves as protection for the wood.
A wall constructed in this way has the following advantages: l ' The wall, after having been provided with its covering, imitates well from the point of view of Paspeet outside ordinary walls.
2 'With a thin coating of insulating agglomerate, although it is thin, the wall has good thermal insulation. During summer, since the walls do not absorb the external heat, the premises keep themselves cool, and during the winter, for the same reason, the heat produced at </ B> the interior is maintained there, not being dispersed outside by the walls. This type of wall is also an excellent insulator for sounds and noises.
3 ' Economy in the cost price compared to any other type of wall endowed with the same decrease in resistance, # durability and thermal insulation.
The rapidity of the construction of the wall, then that all its elements can be prepared in in advance at the factory in the dimensions required by mass production . Their transport to on foot and their assembly are -iWs because of the lightness of the material, the inonta (ye also is done quickly, because of the dimensions of the elements which can - pass a square meter, without ceasing to be easy to handle.
5 ' The wooden wall with coating being much lighter than any other type of wall of the same resistance, does not require a particularly solid foundation, even for low solidity grounds.
6 ' Timber constructions, being the possibility of a perfect connection between the various elements, present all the qualities which are essential for constructions intended for countries subject to earthquakes.
7 ' A house with wooden walls as described, applying the coating also to the interior walls is immediately habitable, as the coating can dry in a very short time.
