Briquet pyrophorique. La présente invention a pour objet un briquet pyrophorique comportant un cou vercle susceptible de s'ouvrir sous l'action d'un ressort, caractérisé par le fait que le couvercle comporte, à son extrémité libre, un tenon qui, lors de la fermeture, est destiné à glisser le long d'une surface de butée d'un verrou rotatif, de façon à déplacer celui-ci contre l'action d'un ressort de rappel et à venir se loger, lorsque ledit couvercle est fermé, dans une creusure de ce verrou qui est monté sur le même axe que la molette d'allumage, le tout étant agencé de façon que le verrou et la molette soient susceptibles d'être actionnés simultanément.
Le dessin annexé montre, à titre d'exem ple, une forme d'exécution du briquet objet de l'invention.

Le briquet représenté comporte, adapté à pivotement à un carter 2, un couvercle 1 destiné à s'ouvrir sous l'action d'un ressort 3 enroulé autour du pivot 4; l'une des extré mités 5 de ce ressort est logée dans une creu- sure 6 que possède le carter 2, et son autre extrémité 7 est disposée dans un alésage 8 pratiqué dans le couvercle 1; ce dernier com porte en outre une creusure circulaire 9 dans laquelle est destiné à se déplacer un tenon de guidage 10 fixé au carter 2. L'extrémité 11 du couvercle 1 comprend une creusure 12 pour recevoir une mèche 13 fixée au carter, ainsi qu'un évidement 14 et un tenon 15.
En regard de la mèche 13 est pivotée à un axe 16 fixé au carter 1, une molette 17 destinée à frotter contre une pierre à feu 18, cette molette 17 étant fixée à un cylindre moleté 18' destiné à être actionné rotative- ment par un usager.
A l'axe 16 est adapté rotativement un verrou 19, destiné à pivoter autour de la molette 17; ce verrou 19 comporte, d'une part, une échancrure 21 dont l'un des bords, incliné, constitue une butée 22, le long de laquelle est destiné à se déplacer le tenon 15 du couvercle 1, lorsqu'on ferme celui-ci et, d'autre part, une creusure 23 dans laquelle vient se loger ledit tenon 15 lorsque le cou vercle 1 est fermé; le verrou 19 est muni, à une de ses extrémités, d'une plaque 24, tra versée par l'axe 16, et dans laquelle est mé nagée une gorge 25 servant de logement à un ressort d'asservissement 26 dont une des extrémités 27 est fixée dans un orifice du carter 1.
Le ressort 26 est agencé de façon à en traîner continuellement le verrou 19 dans le sens de la flèche 28, c'est-à-dire de manière à engager la creusure 23 sur le tenon 15, lorsque le couvercle 1 est fermé; de cette façon, la fermeture de ce dernier est toujours hermétique, du fait que le jeu dû à l'usure, qui pourrait se produire entre la creusure 23 et le tenon 15, est compensé par une rotation plus grande du verrou 19 sous l'action du ressort 26, la creusure 23 présentant, du fait de ladite usure, un plan incliné.
Le briquet représenté est utilisé comme suit 10 pour l'ouverture et l'allumage, la roue moletée 18 ainsi que le verrou 19 sont simul tanément actionnés rotativement par l'usager, dans le sens de la flèche 29; de ce fait, d'une part, le verrou 19 libère le tenon 15, et le couvercle 1 s'ouvre sous l'action du ressort 3 et, d'autre part, la molette 17 frotte contre la pierre à feu 18 et allume la mèche 11;
20 pour la fermeture, le couvercle 1 étant actionné par l'usager, le tenon 15 vient pres ser et se déplacer le long de la butée 22, ce qui fait pivoter le verrou 19 et comprime le ressort 26; à la fin de sa course, le tenon 15 pénètre dans la creusure 23, du fait de la rotation du verrou 19, dans le sens de la flèche 28, sous l'action du ressort 26.
L'avantage de cette invention réside en ce que l'usager actionne en même temps le verrou 19 et la roue moletée 18' et peut ainsi, d'un seul mouvement, ouvrir le couvercle 1 et provoquer l'allumage du briquet.
Pyrophoric lighter. The present invention relates to a pyrophoric lighter comprising a cover capable of opening under the action of a spring, characterized in that the cover comprises, at its free end, a tenon which, during closing, is intended to slide along an abutment surface of a rotary latch, so as to move the latter against the action of a return spring and to be housed, when said cover is closed, in a recess of this lock which is mounted on the same axis as the ignition dial, the whole being arranged so that the lock and the dial are capable of being actuated simultaneously.

The lighter shown comprises, adapted to pivot to a casing 2, a cover 1 intended to open under the action of a spring 3 wound around the pivot 4; one of the ends 5 of this spring is housed in a recess 6 in the casing 2, and its other end 7 is placed in a bore 8 in the cover 1; the latter com also carries a circular recess 9 in which is intended to move a guide pin 10 fixed to the housing 2. The end 11 of the cover 1 comprises a recess 12 for receiving a wick 13 fixed to the housing, as well as a recess 14 and a tenon 15.
Opposite the wick 13 is pivoted to an axis 16 fixed to the housing 1, a wheel 17 intended to rub against a flint 18, this wheel 17 being attached to a knurled cylinder 18 'intended to be actuated rotatably by a user.
A latch 19 is rotatably adapted to the axis 16, intended to pivot around the wheel 17; this lock 19 comprises, on the one hand, a notch 21, one of the inclined edges of which constitutes a stop 22, along which the tenon 15 of the cover 1 is intended to move when the latter is closed and, on the other hand, a recess 23 in which said tenon 15 is housed when the cover 1 is closed; the latch 19 is provided, at one of its ends, with a plate 24, traversed by the axis 16, and in which is formed a groove 25 serving as a housing for a servo spring 26, one of the ends of which 27 is fixed in a hole in the housing 1.
The spring 26 is arranged so as to continuously drag the latch 19 in the direction of the arrow 28, that is to say so as to engage the recess 23 on the tenon 15, when the cover 1 is closed; in this way, the closure of the latter is always hermetic, because the play due to wear, which could occur between the recess 23 and the tenon 15, is compensated by a greater rotation of the latch 19 under the action of the spring 26, the recess 23 having, due to said wear, an inclined plane.
The lighter shown is used as follows 10 for opening and ignition, the knurled wheel 18 as well as the latch 19 are simultaneously rotated by the user, in the direction of arrow 29; therefore, on the one hand, the latch 19 releases the tenon 15, and the cover 1 opens under the action of the spring 3 and, on the other hand, the wheel 17 rubs against the flint 18 and ignites wick 11;
20 for closing, the cover 1 being actuated by the user, the pin 15 presses and moves along the stop 22, which rotates the latch 19 and compresses the spring 26; at the end of its stroke, the tenon 15 enters the recess 23, due to the rotation of the latch 19, in the direction of the arrow 28, under the action of the spring 26.
The advantage of this invention lies in that the user simultaneously actuates the latch 19 and the knurled wheel 18 'and can thus, with a single movement, open the cover 1 and cause the lighter to ignite.
