alarm clock. Most alarm clocks are fitted with a stop device, the alarm function, allowing the hammer to be blocked at will or to prevent it from striking against the bell or the gong.
In many watches of this kind, comprising a movement motor and a striking motor, it is further provided that by charging the spring of the striking motor with a view to winding the latter, the hammer is automatically released, in the purpose of preventing that, by forgetting, said motor is reassembled without the buzzer subsequently resounding under its action.
It has thus already been proposed to release the hammer by the action of a member directly dependent on the ratchet pawl of the barrel of the striking motor. It has also been proposed to cause the release of the hammer by itself, by forcing it, under the additional effort that its escapement transmits to it, to regain its freedom by moving aside. of its path a stopper. The present invention applies to another type of alarm clock, not having two motors, but only one, the ball of which actuates the movement in the usual manner, by its drum, while the chime is actuated, from from the bung, by the barrel shaft.
While the movement can, although stretched, have the maximum development of the spring, the bell generally has only a part of this development, limited by a stop wheel.
It is obvious that this construction sup premiums the pawl, which can therefore no longer be used to release the hammer from the wake-up mechanism.
The solution consisting in making it free by itself not being, on the other hand, not very safe to operate, because it requires a relatively abrupt re-assembly or then pushed to the limit, the present invention provides another solution , particularly applicable to the movement of the type envisaged, that is to say to a single barrel:
In the alarm clock which is the subject of the invention, the striking hammer can be immobilized by a stop latch and the single barrel activating the movement by means of its drum and the strike by means of its shaft, the latter transmits the driving force to the hammer by means of moving parts, at least of which: one is located on a rocker giving it the role of a pawl, the movement of said rocker having, during reassembly, also the effect of moving away the hammer stop lock.
The single figure in the drawing represents part of the movement of an embodiment of an alarm clock according to the invention, given by way of example.
The movement is assumed to be seen from the ca dran side, 1 being its front plate and 2 its. posterior plate, between which are housed the organs of movement.
At 3 is the cylinder of the motor common to the movement and to the sound mechanism. Its shaft 4 is supported, on the one hand and on the side of the winding key 5, by the rear plate 2, on the other hand, by a bridge 6 screwed on the front plate 1.
The barrel 3 drives, on the one hand, the train of the movement proper (not shown) by means of the ring gear 7; it actuates, on the other hand, the ring mo biles via the toothed wheel 8, integral with the shaft 4.
The two mobiles of the. ringing are: the pinion 9, driven by the. wheel 8 and integral with the, wheel 10 meshing directly with the pinion -11, integral with the escapement wheel 12. The latter oscillates the hammer 13 via the pins 14, 15 around the pivot 16. The hammer strikes against the gong 17.
Under the front plate 1, a latch 19 is articulated at 18, through which a rod 20 which, in the position shown, makes it possible to limit the freedom of movement of the hammer in the sense that it can no longer oscillate.
A spring 21 serves to maintain this lock in this position, or in a neighboring unlocking position, cooperating for this purpose with the teeth 22 of the latter.
The unlocking position is that obtained by moving the lock in the direction of arrow 23, which has the effect of moving the rod 20 away from the hammer.
The pusher 24, capable of being actuated from the outside, serves to return the latch 19 to the position shown when it is desired to stop the oscillating movement of the hammer 13.
The mobile 9-10 is supported by one end of a rocker 25 oscillating around the screw 26 and carrying a rod 27 passing through an opening 27a of the. plate 1 and abuts laterally against the bolt 19.
The toothed wheel 8 exerting its force. motor in the direction of arrow 28, seeks to drive the mobile 9-10 and the rocker 25 in the same direction. This training is however limited by the. the rocker 25 meets the bridge 6, common to the barrel shaft 4 and to the exhaust pivot 12.
During reassembly, the. wheel 8 is on the contrary driven by the key 5 and by the intermediary of the shaft 4 in the direction of arrow 29, which has the effect of moving the lever in the direction of arrow 30 by pushing back the pinion 9 which, not rotating, but jumping. tooth to tooth of wheel 8, acts as a ratchet.
The movement thus communicated to the lever 25 has in turn the effect, through the intermediary of the rod <B> 27. </B>, of pushing the latch 19 back into the hammer unlocking position.
We see. therefore, with each winding operation of the motor common to the movement and to the striking, the hammer 13 is obligatorily released, no rotation, no matter how small, cannot be communicated to the barrel shaft, in the direction of the remounting, without the. rocker 25 is moved.
It is 3.1, shown in phantom because it is located on the. outer face of the front plate 1 torn off at this location, is used to push the lever back into the mobile engagement position. 8 and 9, acting as a pawl spring. As for the mechanism having the function of ensuring that the bell is triggered in time, it is neither shown nor described, which may be of any type and is foreign to the subject of the invention.
