Process for the production of a condensation product.
Gegenstand vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Eondensa- tionsproduktes. Das Verfahren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daB man ein Gemisch von 4,4'-Dioxy-diphenylsulfon und Dimethyldioxy-diphenylsulfon-sulfonsäure, letztere erhältlich durch Umsetzen von Rohkresol- mono-sulfonsäure, wie sie beim Sulfieren von Rohkresol gebildet wird, mit der äquimole- kularen Menge Rohkresol bei höherer Tempe rater und anschliessendes Sulfieren des gebil deten Sulfons mit der zweieinhalbfachen äquimolekularen Menge Schwefelsäuremono- hydrat bei 135 , in alkalischem Medium mit Formaldehyd kondensierb.
The subject of the present patent is a method for the production of an Eondensation product. The process is characterized in that a mixture of 4,4'-dioxy-diphenylsulfone and dimethyldioxy-diphenylsulfone-sulfonic acid, the latter obtainable by reacting crude cresol monosulfonic acid, as it is formed when sulfonating crude cresol, with the equimole- cular amount of crude cresol at a higher temperature and subsequent sulfonation of the sulfone formed with two and a half times the equimolecular amount of sulfuric acid monohydrate at 135, condensable in an alkaline medium with formaldehyde.
Die anfallende Losung des condensa- tionsproduktes stellt, nach Ansäuern mit einer organischen Säure, eine gebrauchs- fertige Gerblösung dar, mit welcher sich volle und weisse Leder von hervorragender Lichtechtheit herstellen lassen.
The resulting solution of the condensation product, after acidification with an organic acid, represents a ready-to-use tanning solution with which full and white leathers of excellent lightfastness can be produced.
Beispiel :
110 Gewichtsteile eines Gemisches isomerer Dimethyl-dioxy-diphenylsulfone, dargestellt durch Umsetzen von Rohkresol-mono- sulfonsäure, erhältlich durch Sulfieren von Rohkresol, mit der äquimolekularen Menge Rohkresol bei 120-150 , werden mit 100 Gewichtsteilen Schwefelsäuremonohydrat durch vierstündiges Erhitzen auf 130135 sulfoniert. Die wasserlösliche Schmelze wird mit50G-ewichtsteilen 4,4'-Dioxy-diphenylsulfon verrührt, mit Wasser verdünnt und mit Natronlauge alkalisch gestellt. Hierauf fügt man 42 Gewichtsteile Formaldehyd von 30% hinzu und kondensiert 14 Stunden lang bei Kochtemperatur.

110 parts by weight of a mixture of isomeric dimethyl-dioxy-diphenylsulphones, prepared by reacting crude cresol monosulphonic acid, obtainable by sulphonating raw cresol, with the equimolecular amount of raw cresol at 120-150, are sulphonated with 100 parts by weight of sulfuric acid monohydrate by heating to 130135 for four hours. The water-soluble melt is stirred with 50 parts by weight 4,4'-dioxy-diphenylsulfone, diluted with water and made alkaline with sodium hydroxide solution. 42 parts by weight of 30% formaldehyde are then added and the mixture is condensed for 14 hours at the boiling temperature.
Durch Neutralisation mit Schwefelsäure und Ansäuern mit einer organischen Säure wird eine gebrauchsfertige Gerblösung erhalten.
A ready-to-use tanning solution is obtained by neutralization with sulfuric acid and acidification with an organic acid.
PATENTANSPRUCH :
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Konden- sationsproduktes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein Gemisch von 4,4'-Dioxy-diphenylsulfon und Dimethyl-dioxy-diphenyl sulfon-sulfonsäure, letztere erhältlich durch Umsetzen von Rohkresol-mono-sulfonsäure, wie sie beim Sulfieren von Rohkresol gebil- det wird, mit der äquimolekularen Menge Rohkresol bei höherer Temperatur und anschliessendes Sulfieren des gebildeten Sulfons mit der zweieinhalbfachen äquimolekularen Menge Schwefelsäuremonohydrat bei 135 , in alkalischem Medium mit Formaldehyd kondensiert.
