Fireplace-boiler. The furnace-boiler described in the main patent is specially designed for the production of steam under high pressure and for supplying the furnace with char dust or braisettes. This fireplace-boiler, which does not include an ashtray, does not allow it to be supplied with fuel which may form ashes.
The present invention relates to a furnace-boiler comprising a combustion chamber constituted by a hollow body of horizontal axis, having two end walls, one of which is crossed by an exhaust channel opening into the upper zone of the combustion chamber, this hollow body having, in its lower part, a gutter of which the generatrices of the walls are parallel to the generatrices of the internal walls of said hollow body, this gutter opening into the combustion chamber and being intended to allow the formation of a fuel mass inside and in the.
lower zone of the combustion chamber, air intake openings made in the side walls of the gutter and connected by a pipe to a blower making it possible to inject, into this mass of fuel, the air necessary for its distillation and the combustion of the distillation gases, this fuel mass favoring the creation of a high temperature zone located in its central part,
the depth of the gutter and therefore the height of the pile being such that the temperature of this zone reaches the temperature necessary for the complete distillation of the fuel, and the air being injected in excess, so as to allow complete combustion in the combustion chamber, before their evacuation, of the distillation gases which are released therein.
This hearth-boiler tends to eliminate the inconvenience presented by the hearth-boiler described in the main patent, by the fact that the bottom of the gutter is constituted by a removable wall under which is arranged an ashtray, the fuel being retained on bars for water circulation placed in the lower part of the gutter.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example and schematically, one embodiment of the furnace-boiler forming the subject of the invention: FIG. 1 is a front view, the right half being seen in section.
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section along the line II-II of FIG. 1.
In the figures of the appended drawing, the members or elements having the same function as those represented and - described in the main patent are designated by the same reference numerals. The furnace-boiler shown comprises a hollow body 1 of horizontal axis with hollow walls, in the thickness of which are arranged water chambers connected to a heating circuit by pipes 16 and 17. The upper part of this body is in the shape of a circle, while its lower part has two inclined side elements which rest on a base 19.
The front end wall of this body or the front face of the hearth-boiler consists of a hollow wall provided with a hearth door 3 comprising a fire screen 4. The interior space of this wall is. communication with the other water chambers of the body 1.
The interior space of the hollow body 1 constitutes a combustion chamber 2. The interior walls of the inclined side elements constitute a grid 10 in which openings 10a are made connected by pipes 9 and 7 to a blower (not shown). ).
These pipes are placed in the water chambers of the inclined side elements, so that the air passing through them is heated before being injected into the fuel. - In the lower median part of the body 1, on either side of the vertical median plane and at the foot of the grids, a void is left, which constitutes a gutter of which the generatrices of the walls are parallel to the generatrices of the internal walls of the hollow body .
This gutter opens into the combustion chamber and is intended for. allows the creation of a pile 20 of fuel. This gutter has, in its lateral walls, openings 10b connected to the conduits 9. The bottom of this gutter is closed by a closure plate 14, engaged in guides 14a, and which passes through the front wall of the base 19. This closure plate can be removed so as to allow the ash to fall into an ashtray 12, through hollow bars 11 intended to hold the fuel and arranged in the lower part of the gutter.
The interior space of these bars 11 is in communication with the water chambers of the body 1.
A door 13, provided in the front wall of the base, gives access to the ashtray and allows the ashes to be removed. The rear end wall of the body 1 is traversed by an exhaust channel 15 for the burnt gases emerging directly into the combustion space 2 above the horizontal median plane. This wall is also hollow like the other walls of the body 1 and the chambers formed in its thickness are connected with the water circuit.
On this rear wall is also arranged a chamber 6 for distributing pressurized air. This chamber 6 is supplied with pressurized air by a blower (not shown), connected at the end of a pipe 5, and gives access to the two pipes 7 through openings each comprising a control valve 8.
Finally, a control valve 7a makes it possible to adjust the flow rate of an orifice 7b opening directly to the outside. Corridors 21 cross the walls of the hollow body and open into the space. 2 at the height of the start of the upper part in the arc of a circle of the body 1, that is to say approximately at the height of the horizontal median plane. These lanes 21 connect the space 2 to a hopper (not shown) fixed to the body 1. Each lane 21 is provided with a register 29 for adjusting the fuel flow rate.
The operation of this furnace-boiler is in all points similar to that described in the main patent.
If the fuel used consists of coal (coal dust, braisettes), the shutter plate 14 is closed. These fuels do not form any ash, and no ash removal is necessary. The fuel rests on the bars for circulating water 11, a few fine elements falling on the blanking plate 14.
If the fuel used consists of an ash-forming fuel, the closure plate 14 is opened. The fuel rests on the bars with water circulation, and the ashes fall into the ashtray 12.
The hearth-boiler shown in the drawing also comprises, in its upper part, a cover 25 closing off an orifice 26. When the hearth-boiler is supplied with fuel in the form of fine grains (braids), this cover is closed ( as shown in the drawing), the fuel supply being effected through the corridors 21. On the other hand, when the fuel intended for the supply of the stove consists of fuel in relatively large pieces, the latter cannot flow through the corridors 21.
In this case, the cover 25 is removed and a hopper fitting on the orifice 26 is placed on the furnace-boiler, the corridors 21 are closed and the closure plate 14 is removed. Thanks to this opening 26 and the removable shutter plate 14, it is possible to supply the fireplace with woody product (wood, peat) and other fuels. However, when the furnace is fed through the opening 26, its efficiency is lower, because the combustion of the distillation gases can no longer take place entirely in the combustion chamber 2, so that ignited gases pass through the nozzle 15. .
But this opening 26 nevertheless makes it possible to quickly transform a furnace-boiler with complete gasification of a fine grain fuel, into an all-fuel furnace. If the pieces of fuel are very large, it is still possible to provide an additional supply of air through the ashtray and thus obtain activated combustion.
