Electrical contactor device applied to a timepiece movement periodically winding the mainspring by means of an electromagnetic mechanism with an oscillating rotor. The object of the present invention is an electrical contactor device, with friction contact and with sudden cut-off and on-circuit, intended to be applied to a clockwork movement, timer, etc., with periodic winding of the mainspring to the by means of an electromagnetic mechanism with oscillating rotor.
One embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown, by way of example and in a schematic manner, in the accompanying drawing, in which: FIG. 1 shows an exterior view, in elevation, of the electrical contact device. Fig. 2 is a plan view with the electrical circuit closed. Fig. 3 is a plan view of an intermediate position, during the switching movement of the electric circuit, and FIG. 4, also in plan, shows the position of the components at the end of the stroke, after the electrical circuit has been cut.
The device shown is part of an electromagnetic periodic winding mechanism of a clockwork, timer or other movement, where Y designates the frozen electromagnet and A the oscillating armature or the rotor. The device comprises a double plate P, integral with the axis of the rotor A, and a contact lever E, articulated on an axis B, which bears between the cheeks of the double plate P.
The lever E, movable on the axis B, has at its free end a transverse slot F, in which passes a small axis G3, which serves as a support and as an axis of oscillation for a res out B.
A stud Gl, fixed on the lower plate 0, limits the movement of the contact lever E, by serving as a stop. The profile of plate 0, drawn in phantom lines, is only given as an indication. A fixed eyebolt G2, riveted to plate 0, has a groove near its head which receives the spring B, which, by its U, shape, constantly seeks to move the small axis G away from the eyebolt fixed Gy. Its permanent extension force is enough to hold it in place.
The whole assembly specified above is connected to ground and forms one of the poles of a source of electric current.
On the other hand, an insulated pad 1, fixed, receives the electric current from the electromagnet Y through a conductor Z. On this pad 1 is fixed a contact rod T, bent at the square.
The mechanism thus described comprises two movable joints, namely B, the pivot axis of the lever E and G3, the end of said lever. Point G3 will therefore be driven on one side or the other of a line passing through B and Gz, thus establishing the cut-off respectively contact.
In the contact position (fig. 2), the rotor A having moved away from the electromagnet Y, owing to the running of the clockwork movement, has reached its extreme point. It was then that the contact occurred as follows: when point G3 crossed the mobile line BG @ from bottom to top, the spring B, by its extension force, suddenly applied the lever E against contact T.
In the intermediate position of the contact lever E, shown in fig. 3, contact having taken place, the rotor A was suddenly drawn in the direction of the arrow x.
By examining its travel at idle speed, we notice that point B, in its circular movement, first causes the lever E to rotate in the opposite direction, which is pressed against the contact T. The rotor A, continuing its circular movement, point. G "continues to move and as soon as it has passed the line B-G- from top to bottom, the spring R. by its extension action pushes it abruptly towards the stop G1.
It can therefore be seen that, depending on the position of the rotor A, the lever E jumps, thanks to the spring B, between the contact T and the stop Gl. The resistance of the spring B, at least in its resistance ratios according to its positions, can be considered practically as negligible, since its closing or opening movement is minimal. Moreover, its section is very small, about a tenth of a millimeter.
The rotating movement of the double plate P is provided in one direction, by the mechanical action of the mainspring driving the clockwork train, by slowly moving the rotor A away from the poles of the electromagnet Y, and, in the other direction, by the magnetic attraction of the electromagnet Y on its armature A. In both directions: of cut-off and contact, lever E is located always pushed abruptly by the spring B, as soon as the point Gg dé passes on one side or the other the line BG ,,.
The contact lever E can therefore only have two stable positions, or cut-off or contact, without any possibility of an intermediate position, which corresponds to the desired goal.
On the other hand, the lever E having a combined movement, both linear and angular, causes during the closing of the circuit, a friction on part of the periphery of the contact rod T, the area of which is proportional to the diameter of the double plate P and its angular displacement.
Thus produced, this electrical contact makes it possible to obtain, almost without appreciable mechanical resistance, a sudden breaking and closing of the contact, with friction between the contact members, which has the effect of permanently cleaning said contact, thus also one of the purposes research.
