Description
Procedure for connecting terminal studs to cables. In order to connect connecting bolts with cables, it has already been proposed to inject a jacket made of liquid spray metal around both parts in a closed mold. When sprayed metal is used, for example, when connected to copper cables, copper, brass or the like, when connected with aluminum cables, aluminum. The injection-molded jacket is a reliable connection that can be easily and quickly made in mass production.
The invention aims to improve this connection both in electrical and mechanical terms. According to the invention, the cable end is spliced and slipped over the end of the bolt before spraying. Preferably a pin with a pointed end is used.
An embodiment of a connection executed by the method according to the invention is shown in the drawing. 1 is a bolt made of brass, copper or the like, which is inserted with its one end provided with the tip 2 into the spliced end 3 of the copper cable 4, the individual copper wires as evenly as possible around the bolt scope to be distributed. Bolts and cables are connected by a molded part 5, which can have any shape.
To increase the surface area, the bolt is provided with a notch 6 within the part surrounded by the cable wires. This notch creates an intimate connection between the bolt and the injection molding and enables the spliced cable end to claw with the bolt. To. Relief of the injection-molded socket from tensile stress, e.g. B.
When fastening the bolt to a terminal board, a round nut 7 is screwed onto the bolt, which at the same time also serves to enlarge the bolt surface. Due to the direct connection of the cable end to the bolt together with the embedding of the connection point in injection molding, a particularly reliable and permanent, mechanically and electrically perfect connection of cables with connection bolts is achieved.
