Ignition cables for ignition systems of internal combustion engines
The invention relates to ignition cables for ignition systems of internal combustion engines with a contact screw screwed into the cable core.
It has been shown that the diameters of the common ignition cables (5-7 mm) are subject to a large spread and that the ignition cables therefore easily loosen from screwed-in contact screws, especially when heated, and ultimately no longer have secure contact. For 5 mm ignition cables, e.g. B. at 200C a peel force of 8 to 10 kg and at 1000C a peel force of only 1.5 to 2.0 kg.
A significant improvement could be achieved in this respect according to the invention by a hairpin-shaped wire fork pushed through the cable insulation from the outside, the legs of which enclose the cable core between them and serve as a nut thread for the contact screw.
This made it possible to increase the peel force at 20 C to 16 kg and at 100 C to 8-10 kg.
The drawings show an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, FIG. 1 shows a hairpin-shaped wire fork on a larger scale, FIG. 2 shows an ignition cable with a wire fork attached before it is pushed into the cable, and FIG. 3 shows an ignition cable with a wire fork in the screwed contact screw Section and on a larger scale.
The wire fork 10 according to FIG. I for a 5 mm ignition cable is bent from steel wire with a diameter of 0.5 mm. The distance between the two legs is 1.8-2 mm, the leg length 4.5-4.8 mm.
According to FIG. 2, it is pressed into a 5 mm ignition cable 11 from the outside, so that its legs enclose the cable core 11 'between them at a distance of about 3 mm from the free cable end.
In such an ignition cable 12 with wire fork, according to FIG. 3, an end of the high-voltage
EMI1.1
A kind of ignition anchor screwed in so that the legs 15 of the wire fork engage the threads of the wood screw and thereby ensure the durability of the contact regardless of the temperature of the ignition cable.
