Description
Process for the preparation of an azo dye. The main patent relates to a process for the production of a chromium-containing azo dye, with an equimolecular mixture of the azo dye from dianotated 1-aminobetizole-2-carboxylic acid and 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone and the azo dye from dianotated 1-amino -2-oxy-5-nitrobenzene and the same coupling component heated with chromium donating agents.
It has now been found that a cobalt-containing azo dye with valuable properties is obtained if an equimolecular mixture of the azo dye of dianotated 1-amino-2-oxy-4-nitrobenzene and 1-pbenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone is used and your azo dye from dianotized 1-amino-2-oxy-5-nitrobenzene and the same coupling component with cobalt-releasing agents.
The orange-colored cobalt-containing azo dye produced in this way corresponds in color and lightfastness to a mixture of the individually produced complex cobalt compounds of the two starting dyes; however, it is distinguished from such a mixture by a surprisingly improved solubility in organic solvents. It is therefore just like the dye of the main patent particularly good for generating colored organic solutions or plastic masses such.
B. of colored zapon lacquers, varnishes, objects made of cellulose esters and cellulose ethers or synthetic materials, as well as for spin-dyeing acetate silk or similarly spun synthetic fibers.
The preparation of the new azo dye can follow processes known per se, for example by heating a mixture of the two starting dyes with cobalt-releasing agents in an alkaline, neutral or acidic medium or in organic solvents, organic bases, carboxamides or ammonium salts of carboxylic acids. You can also work under increased pressure. The parts given in the following example are parts by weight.
Example: A mixture of 17 parts of the azo dye from diazotized 1-aniino-. 3-oxy-4-nitrobenzene and 1-phenyl-3-ynethyl-5-pyi "azolone and 17 parts of the dye from diazotized 1-amino-9-oxy-5-nitrobenzene and the same coupling component is in a solution of 14 parts of Kobaltehloriir and 30 parts of sodium acetate in 1000 parts of water for 4 hours
Reflux heated to boiling. The cobalt-like dye is filtered off with suction and dried. It dissolves with a reddish orange color in organic liquids.
