Watch movement with chronograph-counter, hours and minutes. The invention relates to a watch movement with chronograph-.counter, hours and minutes, comprising in phis usual watch hands (hour hands, minute hands, small second hand, large second hand-second hand ), a minute counter hand and an hour counter hand, a manually operated mechanism, which can be, for example, with two push-pieces, making it possible to start chronograph hands, to stop them and to stop them. call back to zero.
According to the invention, this movement is charac-terized in that the large second hand and the minute counter hand have a common center of rotation, in the middle of the movement, while the center of rotation of the The hour counter hand is located between the middle and the edge of the movement, on the axis of symmetry passing through the winding stem, said hour counter hand being placed on a mobile driven with greasy friction by a wheel controlled by the large average mobile.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example and plan view, one embodiment of the object of the invention. In the same figure is shown, in. mixed lines, a detail of an execution variant.
The drawing mainly represents the chronograph mechanism, excluding almost all the usual parts of the watch movement.
The frame of the movement comprises a plate 1, a back plate 2 'and an escape bridge 3 @, the cock not being represented. The back plate and said bridges are fixed on the plate 1. On the back plate are fixed two auxiliary bridges 4 respectively 5, the first of which serves as a bearing for the axis 6 of the: seconds carrying an auxiliary second wheel 7 The bridge 5 serves as a bearing with two axes 8, respectively 9, the first of which passes freely through the tubular axis of the minute wheel (large average) 10 provided with a pinion 11.
This axis 8, located in the middle of the frame, carries a chronograph wheel 12 and a reset core 13 whose barrel carries a large second hand 14.
In the tubular axis of the minutes is adjusted with greasy friction, for example by a lanterning, a tubular axis providing passage to the axis 8 and carrying a minute counter hand 15, a reset core 13 'and a disc of braking 16. The hearts 13, 13 ', the wheel 12 and the disc 16 are superimposed on each other.
On the axis <B> 9 </B> is fixed a wheel 19 @ controlled by the medium-sized pinion 11, by means of a reference 20, comprising a pinion 21 meshing with said wheel 19. On said axis 9 is adjusted, with greasy friction, by lanterning, a reset core 22, the barrel of which carries a braking disc 2a and a 24 hour counter hand.
The hands 14, 15 and 2'4, as well as the usual hands (not shown) for the hours and minutes, are. arranged above the dial placed on plate 1, therefore on the side opposite to back plate 2 supporting the chronograph mechanism.
The centers of rotation of all the wings of the watch movement are thus all located on the same diameter XX of the frame, a diameter which passes through the axis of the winding stem (not shown), the midpoint of the frame and the axis 6 of the seconds.
The auxiliary seconds wheel 7 engages in a return 25 mounted on a lever 26 pivoted on the bridge 3 by means of an eccentric 28. This lever is guided in its movement and held in height by a head screw 27 screwed into the counter-plate 2 and passing through an extended opening of the rocker.
A spring 29 always tends to cause the lever 26 to pivot so that the end of the latter cooperates with the column wheel 3.0, and that the return 25 grinds in the chronograph wheel 12, as soon as said end engages in the vacuum separating two neighboring columns of the wheel 30 from one another. The play of the lever 26 can be adjusted using the eccentric 28.
The column wheel 30 is provided with a jumper 31 which la. keeps motionless in its acquired position; it is controlled in rotation, tooth by tooth, by means of a traction pawl 32 pivoted at M 'on the end of a lever 33 and provided with a return spring 3i4. The lever 33 is pivoted at 35 and can be controlled by a pusher fitted in the middle of the case and shown in the drawing by an arrow 36. The angular movement of the lever 33 is. limited by a stop screw 3,7 whose head is placed in a round opening 38 of said lever. This screw could be formed by the pivot screw of the. pull tab.
Push-button 3'6 is used exclusively to control the starting and stopping of the three chronograph hands 14, 15 and 24, while a second push-piece, shown by an arrow 39, is used: exclusively to control the return at zero of said needles. According to the main embodiment shown, these three operations must be performed in the order indicated, because means are provided to prevent the general return to zero of the three ai- gazilles as long as they are in operation. This amounts to saying that a pressure exerted on the pusher 3'9 is inoperative, if it takes place during the operation of said needles.
However, this operation is possible in the aforementioned order, according to the variant embodiment which will be described below.
The pusher 39 controls a lever 40 pivoted at 41; it is provided with a return spring 42 and cooperates, by a pin 43, with a jumper 44. This lever actuates three reset hammers â, zero, including a twin hammer, 46, 47 and a single hammer 46 ' , the first being superimposed on the other. The hammers 46, 46 ′ are intended to act on the reset squares 13, 13 ′ arranged one above the other.
For this purpose, the lever 40 has a heel 48 having a flat on which rests, by a pin 49, the pivoted lower hammer 46 ', as well as the twin upper hammer 46, 47, at 50, a spring return 5l acting on said pin. An opposing spring 52, weaker than 51, acts directly on the upper twin hammer 46, 47. This twin hammer and the single hammer 46 'are secured to each other by an assembly screw 53 whose head passes with a slight play through the upper hammer, which gives the latter a certain angular play relative to the lower hammer, play necessary to prevent the flutter of the large seconds hand when it is brought back to zero.
The return stroke of the hammers is limited by a stop screw 54. Finally, the hammer 46 'is provided with a nose 55 intended to abut against one of the columns of the column wheel 30, in order to prevent Faction of this hammer by push-piece 39 and therefore the general reset of the three chronograph hands, while the latter are running.
The column wheel 30 controls three independent brakes 56, 57 and 57 ', each of which comprises a brake shoe 56', respectively 57 ", respectively 57" '.
The brake 56 is pivoted at 58 and cooperates with the column wheel by a nose 59; it is subjected to a brake spring 60 constantly tending to make it pivot so that the nose 59 is engaged in the field of action of the column wheel and the shoe 56 'exerts a braking action on the disc 16 .
The brakes 57 and 57 'are superimposed on one another; they are both pivoted at 61 and each comprise an arm 62, respectively 62 '. These arms, also superimposed on one another, are intended to cooperate with the column wheel 30 and are each subjected to the action of a return spring 63., respectively 63 '. These springs, superimposed on one another, always tend to make the brakes 57, 57 'pivot, so that the latter obey the action of the column wheel or exert a braking action on the chronograph wheel. 12, respectively on the say that 23 ,. .
However, it is important, so that the general resetting of the three chronograph hands can be carried out, that the brakes are released beforehand, that is to say that the shoes 56, 57 "and 57" ' release the respective mobiles 16, 12 and 23. This function is assigned to the hammer 46 'which comprises a pin 64 intended to act, during the direct travel of this hammer, with a view to resetting the three needles, on the brakes 57 and 57 'to make them pivot against the action of their return springs 63 ,, 63' and disengage the shoes 57 <B> "</B> -and 57" 'before the hammers 46, 46. ' and 47 do not hit the respective courts.
Simultaneously, the shoe 56 'is released from the brake disc 16, under the action of the lower hammer 46' having a lateral nose 65 which acts on an inclined plane of an arm 66 of the brake 56, in order to make the latter pivot to against the action of its res comes out 60, so that the shoe 56 'is released from the disc 16.
When the mechanism members occupy the respective positions shown in the drawing, the three chronograph hands are stopped and immobilized by the fact that the control gear 25 is disengaged from the wheel 12 and that all the brake shoes 56 ', 57 "and 57" 'are applied, which makes it possible to make an exact reading of the time taken by the chronograph hands, the 2'4 counter hand indicating the hours, the 15 counter hand indicating the minutes, and the large second hand 14, seconds and fractions of a second.
The minute wheel 10 (large average) having a continuous rotational movement, only drives (with greasy friction) the counter hands 15 and 2'4 when the brake shoes 56 'and 57 "' are not blocked. .
In order not to overload the left part of the drawing, the respective angular position of the needles 14, 15 and 24 was chosen arbitrarily and does not correspond to the relative position of the hearts 13; <B> 13 '</B> and 22, and at the zero position of the dials.
The stopping of the chronograph hands is controlled by a pressure exerted on the pusher 36. Therefore, one can operate either the restarting of these hands, by a subsequent pressure exerted on the pusher 36, or the general resetting of said. needles, by pressure exerted on the pusher 39.
This subsequent pressure on the pusher 36 has the effect that the column wheel 30 turns by one tooth, which almost simultaneously causes the actuation of the brakes 56, 57 and 57 ', the shoes of which release the wheels 12, 16 and 23, and of the lever 26 whose return 25 engages with the chronograph wheel 12, under the a ^ tion of the spring 29 of the lever and drives this wheel. A new pressure exerted on the push-button M brings the members of the mechanism back to. their respective previous position represented, except the. column wheel that turns tooth by tooth, always in the same direction.
Thus, the chronograph hands are again stopped.
It is thus possible to start and stop, alternately, the chronograph hands, using push-button 36. The general resetting of these hands takes place exclusively by means of push-button 3'9 and is not possible. only after stopping the needles, when the column wheel 3f1 occupies an angular position allowing the spout 55 to engage in the void separating two neighboring columns from one another.
A pressure exerted on the pusher 39 acts, by the lever 40, on the pin 49 solidary of the hammer 46 'which, in turn, causes the twin hammer 46, 47 to vote under the action of the spring 52, so that the hammers simultaneously strike the hearts 13, 13 'and 22 to recall them to their respective initial positions and hence the chronograph hands to their zero position of the dial.
This direct angular movement of the hammers is possible because the nozzle 55 can penetrate between two adjacent columns of the column wheel 30. But, for the action of the hammers to be effective, it is necessary that the mobiles 12, 16 and 23 'are first released from the action of their respective brake. This function falls exclusively to the lower hammer 46 ', without the collaboration of the column wheel 30.
