Process for the preparation of a benzenesulfonic acid derivative. The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of a benzene sulfonic acid derivative, which is characterized in that a benzene sulfonic acid 3 ', 5'-di-trifluoromethyl anuide, wel ches in the 4-position a group which can be reduced to the amino group contains, reduced. Suitable groups that can be reducible to the amino group are, for example, the nitro and azo groups,
which can be reduced by methods known per se. The 4-aminobenzenesulfonic acid 3 ', 5'-di-trifluoromethyl-anilide obtainable in this way forms colorless crystals with a melting point of 1166. It should find therapeutic application.
<I> Example </I> 41 g of 4-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid-3 ', 5'-di-trifluoromethyl-anilide are heated to the boil for 3 hours with 200 cm' of water and 70 g of iron etched with acetic acid. After adding excess sodium hydroxide solution, the mixture is filtered while hot and the filtrate is acidified with acetic acid.
The precipitate is filtered off and redissolved from dilute methanol. The 4-aminobenzenesulfonic acid - 3 'is obtained. 5 '- di - trifluoromethyl anilide in colorless crystals with a melting point of 166.
The starting material is obtained by reacting 46 g of 3 "5-di-trifluoromethyl aniline with 44 g of 4-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid chloride in 150 cm 'pyridine for 30 minutes on a water bath. The clear reaction solution is diluted in excess Stir in hydrochloric acid, suck off the precipitate, dissolve it in sodium hydroxide solution and precipitate it out again by adding hydrochloric acid.
The 4-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid 3 ', 5'-di-trifluoromethyl-anilide obtained in this way melts at 138 after being dissolved from dilute acetone.
<I> Example 2: </I> 10 g of azobenzene-4-sulfonic acid-3 ', 5'-di-trifluoromethyl-anilide are dissolved in dilute sodium hydroxide solution to which the same volume of alcohol is added. Solid sodium hydrosulfite is added to the solution while heating to <B> 60-70 '</B> until it is completely discolored. With steam who expelled the alcohol and aniline, the alkaline solution is filtered and acidified with acetic acid. The 4-aminobenzenesulfonic acid 3 ', 5'-di-trifluoromethyl-anilide precipitates and is redissolved from dilute methanol. It melts at 166.
The starting material is obtained by reacting azobenzene-4-sulfonic acid chloride with 3,5-di-trifluoromethyl-aniline in pyridine. Recrystallized from alcohol, the compound forms orange-red flakes with a melting point of 144 '.
