Additional patent to main patent no. 212421. Process for the production of a trisazo dye. The subject of the main patent is a process for the production of a new tris-

It has now been found that one

with N-4'-oxy-3'-carboxyphenyl - 2 - amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid in an alkaline medium, azo dye, in which the diazo compound of the amino disazo dye of the formula new, likewise valuable trisazo dye is obtained,
if the diazo compound of the amino disazo dye of the formula The new trisazo dye is dyed in blue tones, nouns refer to cotton, viscose rayon or linen and can be mixed with wool dyes to dye wool-cotton or wool-viscose rayon mixtures. The fastness of the dyeings can be further improved by post-treatment with copper or chromium salt solutions.
Example: 233 parts of 1-amino-3-ea.rboxy-4-oxybenzene-5-sulfonic acid are dissolved in sodium carbonate, 69 parts of sodium nitrite are added and a mixture of ice and hydrochloric acid is allowed to run into. The diazo solution is combined with a solution of 143 parts of 1-aminonaphthalene and, after addition of sodium acetate, coupled with acetic acid.
The mixture is stirred for some time, mixed with sodium carbonate until a soda-alkaline reaction occurs and the aminoazo dye is diazotized in such a way that the dye solution mixed with sodium nitrite is in

with N-4'-oxy-3'-ca rboxyphenyl-2-amino-5-oxynaphthaIin-7-sulfous acid in an alkaline medium.
The new dye dyes in blue tones, pulls noun on cotton. Viscose rayon or linen. The authenticity lets hydrochloric acid flow in and then mixed with sodium acetate until the acetic acid reaction.
The diazo compound is then filtered off with suction and combined with a further 223 parts of 1-amino-na.ph.t.halin-7-sulfonic acid in the form of the sodium salt to form the aminodisazo dye.
The sodium salt of this dye which separates out is filtered off with suction, diazotized as usual, and alkaline with 343 parts of N-4'-oxy-3'-carboxy plienv 1-2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid to give the trisazo-fa.rstoff uni; "- t. It is salted out, sucked off and dried.
The trisazo dye provides blue shades on cotton with good fastness properties, which can be further improved by aftertreatment with chromium salt solutions.
