Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines loetainartig konstituierten Kondensationsproduktes. In der Patentschrift Nr. 212410 ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines betainartig konstituierten Kondensationsproduktes be schrieben, welches man erhält, wenn Octa- decylchlormethyläther mit Dimethylamino- essigsäuremethylester umgesetzt und das erhaltene Reaktionsprodukt verseift wird.
Gegenstand dieser Erfindung ist ein Ver fahren zur Herstellung eines betainartig kon stituierten Kondensationsproduktes, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass Octadecyl- chlormethyläther mit y-Piperidino-buttersäure- methy lester umgesetzt und das erhaltene Reaktionsprodukt verseift wird.
Die Umsetzung wird zweckmässig so aus geführt, dass man den Octadecylchlormethyl- äther an den Ester der Aminocarbonsäure anlagert und anschliessend das Reaktionspro dukt verseift, was zum Beispiel durch Be handlung mit einem alkalisch wirkenden Mittel wie Natronlauge, Soda oder Magne- siumoxyd erfolgen kann, wobei gleichzeitig das Halogenatom entfernt wird.
Die neue betainartig konstituierte Ver bindung stellt einen festen Körper dar, der in Wasser, besonders beim Erwärmen, löslich ist. Er ist wegen seiner hohen Kapillarakti- vität vor allem in der Textilindustrie als Netz-, Reinigungs-, Dispergier- und Avivier- mittel verwendbar.
Auch zusammen mit andern Textilhilfsmitteln wie Seife, Alkohol- sulfonaten, Fettsäurekondensationsprodukten, Alkylnaphthalinsulfonsäuren und andern kann das Produkt Verwendung finden. Beispiel:
Eine Lösung von 80 Gewichtsteilen Octa- decyl-chlormethyläther in 200 Gewichtsteilen Methylenchlorid wird unter Rühren mit 47 Gewichtsteilen y-Piperidino-buttersäuremethyl- ester versetzt. Nach beendeter Umsetzung wird das Lösungsmittel abdestilliert und der Rückstand in 600 Gewichtsteilen Alkohol heiss gelöst.
Die Lösung wird mit 35 Ge wichtsteilen Natronlauge von 38" B6 versetzt und 10 Minuten zum Sieden erhitzt. Nach dem Neutralisieren mit verdünnter Salz#üure wird vom gebildeten Kocbsalz abfiltriert und das Filtrat im Vakuum bei 50-t]0" einge dampft. Das Produkt ist eine gelbliche hygro- skopische Nasse.

Patent No. 212410 describes a process for the preparation of a betaine-like condensation product which is obtained when octadecylchloromethyl ether is reacted with methyl dimethylaminoacetate and the reaction product obtained is saponified.
The subject of this invention is a process for the production of a betaine-like con stituted condensation product, which is characterized in that octadecyl chloromethyl ether is reacted with γ-piperidino-butyric acid methyl ester and the resulting reaction product is saponified.
The reaction is expediently carried out in such a way that the octadecylchloromethyl ether is added to the ester of the aminocarboxylic acid and then the reaction product is saponified, which can be done, for example, by treatment with an alkaline agent such as sodium hydroxide, soda or magnesium oxide, with at the same time the halogen atom is removed.
The new betaine-like connection constitutes a solid body that is soluble in water, especially when heated. Because of its high capillary activity, it can be used primarily in the textile industry as a wetting agent, cleaning agent, dispersing agent and softening agent.
The product can also be used together with other textile auxiliaries such as soap, alcohol sulfonates, fatty acid condensation products, alkylnaphthalene sulfonic acids and others. Example:
A solution of 80 parts by weight of octadecyl chloromethyl ether in 200 parts by weight of methylene chloride is admixed with 47 parts by weight of methyl piperidino-butyric acid while stirring. After the reaction has ended, the solvent is distilled off and the residue is dissolved in 600 parts by weight of hot alcohol.
The solution is mixed with 35 parts by weight of 38 "B6 sodium hydroxide solution and heated to boiling for 10 minutes. After neutralization with dilute hydrochloric acid, the coconut salt formed is filtered off and the filtrate is evaporated in vacuo at 50 t] 0". The product is a yellowish hygroscopic liquid.
