 EMI1.1

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 EMI1.1

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 in 100'l 1% soap solution solution allowed to flow in while swirling. One works at ordinary temperature or at 50-700. A fine, almost colorless, powdery precipitate is obtained, which consists of completely pure resin. It settles quickly and can easily be removed by filtration. After washing and drying, the cleaned resin is an almost white, fine powdery body. It is completely freed from accompanying substances.

   2.60 kg of resinous condensation product are dissolved in 20 kg of alcohol and 401 2% soap solution is added. Sodium hydroxide solution is then added until a homogeneous liquid is formed.
 EMI2.1
 Soap solution added. 21 kg of sodium hydroxide solution (1: 2) are then added, so that a highly viscous solution is formed. This is poured into a 100 l% soap solution, whereby the resin precipitates in pure form as a white powder.

   4.80 kg of resinous condensation product are dissolved in 20 kg of alcohol and mixed with 100 l% soap solution. Otherwise, the procedure in Example 3 is followed. The purified synthetic resin is obtained as a powder.
 EMI2.2
 if 45-500 can flow in. The pure resin precipitates as a powder and is easy to separate.

   The phenol aldehyde condensation products used as starting materials according to the examples are prepared, for example, according to the process of DP No. 214194, by condensing the components in the presence of alkaline catalysts and adding the acid after condensation has occurred before complete hardening or by introduces water vapor or vapors of solvents during condensation (cf. DP No. 219209). As phenol, all phenols and cresols, e.g. B. also use o-cresol (cf. D. P. No. 219728). The acids can be diluted with solvents (cf. D. P. No. 222543). You can use the various alkaline catalysts as condensation agents, for. B. those given in D.P. No. 281454.

   However, other alkaline condensing agents can also be used.

   The solvent used is 95-98% alcohol, e.g. B. denatured alcohol commercially used.

  The caustic soda is produced by dissolving technical caustic soda of about 70% effective sodium hydroxide in twice the amount of water. For example, 10 legs of sodium hydroxide and 20 kg of water are used.

   In addition to saving lye and eliminating the need for a precipitation agent, the new process offers the great advantage of being quick to implement. The organic solvent used, e.g. As is well known, alcohol, for example, can be easily recovered by rectification without great expense.
