Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines betainartig konstituierten gondensationsprodukteg. In der Patentschrift Nr. 212410 ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines betainartig konstituierten Kondensationsproduktes be schrieben, welches man erhält, wenn Octa- decylchlormethyläther mit Dimethylamino- essigsäuremethylester umgesetzt und das erhaltene Reaktionsprodukt verseift wird.
Gegenstand dieser Erfindung ist ein Ver fahren zur Herstellung eines betaina.rtig kon stituierten Kondensationsproduktes, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass Octadecyl- chlormethyläther mit Piperidino-essigsäure- methylester umgesetzt und das erhaltene Reaktionsprodukt verseift wird.
Die Umsetzung wird zweckmässig so aus geführt, dass man den Octadecylchlormethyl- üther an den Ester der Aminocarbonsäure anlagert und anschliessend das Reaktions produkt verseift, was zum Beispiel durch Behandlung mit einem alkalisch wirkenden Mittel wie Natronlauge, Soda oder Magne- siumoxyd erfolgen kann, wobei gleichzeitig das Halogenatom entfernt wird.
Die neue betainartig konstituierte Ver bindung stellt einen festen Körper dar, der in Wasser, besonders beim Erwärmen, löslich ist. Er ist wegen seiner hohen Kapillarakti- vität vor allem in der Textilindustrie als Netz-, Reinigungs-, Dispergier- und Avivier- mittel verwendbar. Auch zusammen mit andern Textilhilfsmitteln wie Seife, Alkohol- sulfonaten, Fettsäurekondensationsprodukten,
Alkylnaphthalinsalfonsäuren und andern kann das Produkt Verwendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> In eine Lösung von 155 Gewichtsteilen Octadecylchlormethyläther in 200 Gewichts teilen Methylenchlorid lässt man unter Rühren 80 Gewichtsteile Piperidino-essigsäuremethyl- ester einfliessen. Nach beendeter Reaktion dampft man das Lösungsmittel im Vakuum ab. Den trockenen Rückstand trägt man darauf in eine Lösung von 1x0 C ew iehts- teilen krist. Soda in 1000 Gewichtsteilen Wasser bei 65 ein.
Nach etwa ','-. stündigem Rühren ist die Verseifung eingetreten und eine schwach opale Lösung entstanden, die beim Abkühlen ein Betgin folgender Struktur ausscheidet:

The subject matter of this invention is a process for the production of a betaina.rtig kon stituierten condensation product, which is characterized in that octadecylchloromethyl ether is reacted with piperidino-acetic acid methyl ester and the reaction product obtained is saponified.
The reaction is expediently carried out in such a way that the octadecylchloromethyl ether is added to the ester of the aminocarboxylic acid and then the reaction product is saponified, which can be done, for example, by treatment with an alkaline agent such as sodium hydroxide, soda or magnesium oxide, and at the same time the halogen atom is removed.
The new betaine-like compound is a solid body that is soluble in water, especially when heated. Because of its high capillary activity, it can be used primarily in the textile industry as a wetting agent, cleaning agent, dispersing agent and softening agent.
