Process for the preparation of a substantive trisazo dye. Patent specification No. 276140 describes sub- stantive green polyazo dyes which are washable on the fiber by treatment with formaldehyde.
It has now been found that new, substantive green polyazo dyes are obtained if, as indicated in patent specification No. 276140, dyes are synthesized by coupling dianotated acidyldiamines or nitramines or their derivatives or sulfonic acids with a further diazotizable agent component, the intermediate is further diazotized and now, instead of as in the patent with m-amirioberizol-1,
2-naphthimidazole-5-oxy-7-siilfonsäure resp. m-Amino-benz-1,2-riaphthothiazole-5-oxy-7-sulfonic acid to be coupled), here combined with an aminobenzoylated 2-aminobenzoylated 2-amirio-5-oxyriaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid, dianotized, coupled with resorcinol and saponified or. reduced.
Very clear green cotton dyes with excellent fastness properties are obtained in this way.
Before the dyes known from patent specification No. 276140, the new dyes stand out both in direct dyeing and in dyeing aftertreated with formaldehyde by a considerably clearer shade, a much better neutral and alkaline etchability, and by a significantly improved washability Overcooking off.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of a substantial green trisazo dye. The process consists in coupling dianotated 1-amino-4-oxalylaminobeiizole-3-sulfonic acid with 1- amino-2-ethoxynaphthalene, further diazotizing the monoazo dye thus obtained, with 2- (m-aminobenzoylamino) -5-oxynaph- thalin- 7-sulfonic acid combined, dianotized,
then couple with resorcinol and finally saponify the oxalylamino group. The new dye provides a very clear green. Example: 26 parts of 1-amino-4-oxalylaminobenzene-3-sulfonic acid are dissolved in 150 parts of water until neutral, 35 parts of hydrochloric acid 19.5 0 B6 are added and the mixture is cooled to zero. Then dianotized in a known manner with 6.9 g of sodium nitrite for two hours. The finished dianotation leads to a solution of 18.7 parts of 1-amino-2-ethoxyrraphthalene in 800 parts of water and 12.8 parts of sulfuric acid 60 ° Bo.
40 parts of anhydrous sodium acetate are then used to blunt to a pA of 4.5-5. The coupling is made alkaline at 5 ° with 69 parts of 38 ° Be sodium hydroxide solution and dianotized in a known manner with 13.3 parts of sodium nitrite and 120 parts of hydrochloric acid.
The dianotation is salted out, filtered off with suction, stirred up again and treated with a solution of 35.8 parts of 2- (m-aminobenzoylamino) -5-oxyrraphthalic-7-sulforric acid in 69 parts of 20% ammonia solution and 138 parts of pyridine 100% at 0 0 coupled.
The suction-filtered paste of the disazo dye is stirred up again with water and dianotized at 10-15 ° with 60 parts of hydrochloric acid 19.5 ° Bo and 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite for 4-5 hours and then with 6.9 parts of resorcinol and 35 parts of soda are dissolved in the water, coupled. The finished trisazo dye is salted out at 70 ° and filtered off with suction.
The paste is soaped for 20 minutes at 60 ° with 172 parts of sodium hydroxide solution 380 Bo. It is then acidified with hydrochloric acid, made alkaline again with soda, salted out with a little salt and filtered off with suction. The dye obtained in this way is a very clear green which, both after-treated and in direct dyeing, has excellent neutral and alkaline etchability.
