Process for the preparation of trisazo dyes.
Primary trisazo dyes of the composition A-N2-B-N2-C-N2-D, where A and B are amines of the benzene or naphthalene series or their sulfonic acids. C 1-amino-2-naphthol ether - # - sulfonic acid and D 2-amino-t-naphthol-7-sulfonic acid or its aminoaryl derivatives. have not yet become known. One tries. Such dyes, in which C = 1-amino-2-naphthol ether-6-sulfonic acid is to be prepared, shows that the coupling energy of the diazo compounds of primary disazo dyes. which carry 1-amino-2-naphthol-6-sulfonic acid in the end position is so low that they no longer combine in aqueous alkaline solution with 2-amino-5-naphthol-7-sulfonic acid or its aminoaryl derivatives. The diazo compounds are instantly decomposed.
It became a way. found to obtain these dyes anyway and in good fashion. It consists in diazotizing primary disazo dyes with 1-amino-2-naphthol ethers or their sulfonic acids in the terminal position and the diazo compounds with the addition of
EMI1.1
Example: 25.3 g of ailin-3.6-disulfonic acid are dissolved in 300 cm3 of hot water and, after adding a little ice and 10 cm3 of crude hydrochloric acid, diazotized at 10-150. This diazo compound is allowed to run into a warm solution; of 17.9 g of hydrochloric acid α-naphthylamine in about 500 cm3 of water. The clutch works immediately. When it has ended after about ten hours, one crude hydrochloric acid is allowed to run into the mixture and the dye is diazotized by adding 69 cm3 l of the above sodium nitrite solution. The diazo compound goes into solution. They are salted out with about 250 9 table salt, filtered off with suction, washed with saturated salt
EMI1.2
saturated saline solution.
It dyes cotton a clear greenish blue with very good lightfastness.
In this way, other dyes can be produced. Aniline-2. 4-disulfonic acid +
EMI1.3
thol-7-sulfonic acid (bluish green).
