Float carburettor, for internal combustion engine. The object of the present invention is a float carburetor, for an operating engine, of the type supplied with fuel by a pump, the discharge duct of which is connected to a pipe opening into the container of the float. This carburetor is characterized in that said tube forms, immediately before this receptacle, a large volume chamber preceded by a throttle that the combustible liquid under pressure, sent by the pump, must pass before arriving in the chamber. bedroom.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the carburetor forming the subject of the present invention.
The single figure in the drawing is a schematic view of this embodiment. In this figure, 1 is the carburetor nozzle and. \? its float enclosed in a container 3 and a needle 4 of which controls an inlet port 5 for the fuel in the container. The latter has, above the orifice 5, a pipe consisting of a conduit 6 into which is screwed a connector 7, onto which is screwed, in turn, a delivery pipe 8 of a pump 9.
This, of usual construction, has a suction duct 10, connected to a gasoline tank and is provided with a piston 11 placed under the control of a cam 12 and a spring 13; in half of its stroke, the cam acts on the piston and moves it upwards, which produces suction; in the other half of its stroke, the cam abandons the piston which, under the action of the spring, descends and produces the discharge.
A plug 14 is engaged in the connector 7 which the tubing comprises, forming, in the tubing 6-7, immediately before the inlet orifice 5 in the vessel of the float, a chamber 15 of large volume; the stopper 14 is pierced with two longitudinal boreholes 16 opening out, one on its front face and the other on its rear face, and joined in the middle part of the stopper by a small diameter borehole. These three boreholes constitute a constriction that the pressurized combustible liquid, sent by the pump, is. obliged to cross before entering room 15.
In the usual carburettors, when the needle 4 has just closed the orifice 5, the pis ton 11, when it tends to go down again under the action of the spring 13, produces a water hammer above the needle which displaces mo mentally the float down and allowing it to penetrate. in the float container, a new quantity of fuel, which pours out through the nozzle and is thus lost. In the carburetor shown, this inconvenient does not arise, thanks to the chamber 15 which contains a sufficient volume of air to damp said water hammer, which is no longer felt on the float.
In certain embodiments, the tu bulure formed by the duct G and the connector 7, as well as the plug 14 introduced into this tubing, could be replaced by a tubing in one piece also having a large volume chamber preceded by 'a strangulation.
