Description

Process for the preparation of a leather dye. The subject of the present additional patent is a method for the preparation of a leather dye, which is characterized in that 2 mol of 4-nitro-3'-aminodipherrylamine-2,4'-disulfonic acid are condensed with 11M1 chloranil.

Example: To an aqueous solution of the sodium salt of 4-nitro-3'-amirrodipherryl-2,4'-disulfonic acid, obtained by condensation of 19 parts by weight of 1,3-diaminoberrzene-4-sulfo - Acid with 26 parts by weight of 4-nitro-1-chlorobenzene = 2-sulfonic acid sodium, 12 parts by weight of chloranil and 6 parts by weight of soda are added with stirring. The mass is kept boiling for 20 hours. The resulting deep brown solution is evaporated to dryness, 55-60 parts by weight of a product that is suitable for dyeing leather in brown tones.

The dye has the following composition:
EMI0001.0014
The dye obtained in this way has the valuable property of dyeing leather deep into the core.
