VorliegendeErfindung    betrifft einen Ketten  antrieb für Fahrräder und bezweckt, durch  eine neue Form des auf der     Tretkurbelachse     sitzenden Kettenrades die Tretkraft besser  auszunützen als wie bisher bei runder Form,  wodurch wiederum erreicht wird, dass man  schneller vorwärts kommt     bezw.    leichter an  treiben kann als normalerweise.  



  Gemäss der Erfindung ist das auf der       Tretkurbelachse    sitzende Kettenrad     ellipsen-          förrnig.    Praktische Versuche haben ergeben,  dass durch das ellipsenförmige Kettenrad  keine     Unannehmlichkeiten    beim Antreiben  des Fahrrades entstehen.  



  Der Erfindungsgegenstand ist auf der bei  liegenden Zeichnung in einem Ausführungs  beispiel dargestellt.    Mit 1     ist    das ellipsenförmige Kettenrad  auf der     Tretkurbelachse    und mit 2 der Ketten  spanner bezeichnet, der notwendig ist, um  die Kette während des     Antreibens    ständig  gespannt zu halten. Das ellipsenförmige  Kettenrad ist auf der     Tretkurbelachse    so  montiert, dass seine grosse Achse senkrecht  zu den Kurbeln steht, derart, dass die kleinste  Übersetzung in den     Totlagen    der Kurbeln  auftritt und daher die Tretkraft     sich    bis zu  30 % besser ausnützen lässt.
