Apparatus for drawing off liquids. The object of the present invention is an apparatus for withdrawing liquids, comprising a hollow body in which the liquid arrives and which is provided with an outlet duct closed by a valve held on its conical seat by a spring, characterized in that the valve has an operating rod protruding from the body of the apparatus. the part of this rod external to the body being provided with a pin cooperating with a ramp formed by one of the flanks of a cut notch. in a part surrounding the rod, the other side of the notch éla.nt parallel to the axis of the rod, all so.
that by turning the rod on its axis, the pin, by pressing on the ramp, forces this rod to. move axially, against the force exerted by the spring, to lift the valve from its seat, and by continuing to rotate the rod in the same direction when the valve has reached its maximum opening, this rod is brought into a position for which it is released axially and returned to its initial position by driving the pin which falls suddenly to the bottom of the notch following the other side thereof, so that the sou pope suddenly closes.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention.
The apparatus comprises a hollow body 1 provided with a pipe 2 through which the liquid enters this body and an outlet pipe 3 closed by a valve 4 with a conical seat. To this valve 4 is fixed a control rod 5 which passes through the stuffing box 6 of the hollow body 1 and is controlled by the button 7. The valve 4 is held on its seat by the coil spring 8. The control rod control 5 is provided in its part outside the body 1 with a pin 9 which rests on a ramp 10 formed by one of the sides of a notch cut in the part of the gland plug surrounding the rod. the other side of the notch being parallel to the axis of the rod 5.
By rotating the rod 5 by acting on the button 7, the pin 9 pressing on the ramp 10 forces this rod 5 to move at the same time axially against the force exerted by the spring by driving with it the. valve 4, which rises from its seat.
By continuing to rotate the knob ï when the valve is at its maximum opening, the rod 5 is brought into a position in which it is released axially, so that, as a result of the force exerted on the valve 4 by the spring 8, this rod is rowed born in its initial position by driving the pin 9 which falls abruptly to the bottom of the notch following the other side thereof, so that the valve 4 closes abruptly.
It is easy to realize that the quantity of liquid that can flow out depends on the greater or lesser opening of the valve obtained by acting on the control button of the device.
