Sealing device for liquid container. The present invention relates to a closure device for a liquid container, a part of which fits into the orifice of the container and which is provided with means allowing the liquid to be poured out. This device is characterized in that it has two perforations putting the inside of the container into communication with the outside and carries a two-way valve, which channels correspond respectively to said perforations, one of which is intended for the flow, is closest to a flow lip presented by the end of the device and the other of which provides a continuous passage to the air entering the container when the tap is open and liquid is 'flows outside.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention that FIG. 1 shows in elevation and FIG. 2 in plan; fig. 3 is a section along III-III of fig.l and fig. 4 a section along IV-IV of FIG. 2; fig. 5 shows the device in action on a cylinder. An annular cork or rubber stopper 1 is fitted over a part 2a of a rigid body 2 which can be made of metal, wood, glass, porcelain, etc.
This stopper is intended to fit into the neck of a receptacle such as a carboy and its penetration is limited by the disc 2b. The body 2 has a bulge 2. in which is fitted the key of a ball valve 5. The body 2 has two holes 3 and 4, the largest of which opens outwards in the vicinity of a flow lip 2d and which is intended for the discharge of the liquid while the hole 4 is used for the re-entry of the air which must replace the liquid extracted from the container.
The valve key 5 is mounted using a screw 7 resting on a washer 6 which itself bears on the bulge 2 ,,. It has holes 3. and 4s, which correspond exactly to holes 3 and 4 when the handle 5. of the tap is in the position shown. A tube 8 fitted in the hole 4 extends inside the container, adapting to its shape as shown in FIG. 5 where the device is in place on a carboy 11. A cover 9 is applied on the upper face of the device while being mounted on a hinge 10.
Fig. 5 shows the cylinder 11 in the position for which it can be completely emptied. It will be understood that thanks to the continuous inflow of air through the orifice 4, the jet of liquid forms a perfectly smooth stream allowing easy filling of other receptacles with narrow necks. The handling of the robi net 5 is much easier than the extraction of a stopper, which presents a great advantage when the liquid has to be dispensed from a carboy by a large number of successive samples.
It will be appreciated that the device may not include an elastic stopper, but be entirely made of glass with adjustments grounded with emery.
