Central screw connection for pipes without thread. The present invention relates to a Zen tralverschraubung for hard pipes without Ge thread, for example for steel pipes. The central screw connections known to date for non-threaded steel pipes are formed as so-called stuffing box screw connections, in which an elastic stuffing box ring is pushed over the smooth pipe end and is inserted into a correspondingly large bore of part of the central screw connection. On the back of the stuffing box ring acts as a part of the central screw, designed as a very
that the elastic stuffing box ring is firmly pressed against the wall of the pipe and against the wall of the bore of the part of the central screw connection that receives the pipe end. For soft pipes, for example copper pipes, so-called clamp connections were created, the feature of which is that a certain constriction of the pipe end is achieved by means of a correspondingly designed clamping and sealing cone.
The purpose of this arrangement is to anchor the pipe end in the central screw connection in the axial direction. However, these arrangements cannot be used with hard steel pipes, since the clamping and sealing cone must have approximately a hardness which is equal to the hardness of the steel pipe. As a result, the sealing of the clamping and sealing cone is ready with respect to the connected part of the threaded pipe connection difficulties. The constriction which the tube receives in all of these designs is also an undesirable disadvantage of these constructions.
The essence of the present invention for hard pipes, for example for steel pipes, is that a closed, conical, thin-walled sliding sleeve with approximately the same wall thickness over the entire length is pushed onto a sealing cone of a certain but low degree of plasticity pushed onto the pipe , which consist of a great tensile strength and a certain amount of elongation be or be seated metal. consists of a metal alloy, is postponed.
A union nut, which surrounds the sliding sleeve with clearance, rests against the sliding sleeve on the front side. The union nut is screwed onto another pipe element, with an axial displacement of the sliding sleeve relative to the sealing cone instead.
The sliding sleeve undergoes a slight expansion and is simultaneously placed under tension in such a way that the contact pressure exerted on the sealing cone and by this on the pipe wall is distributed as evenly as possible over the entire surface area covered by the sliding sleeve and a constant pressure due to the internal tension of the sliding sleeve is exerted on the sealing cone and by this on the pipe.
The accompanying drawing shows several example embodiments of the invention, namely: Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the central screw connection for pipes, the upper half being in section and the lower half in view, Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment of the central screw connection, wherein the upper half is drawn in section and the lower half in view, Fig. 3 shows a third embodiment of the central screw, the stalten for two equal,
smooth pipe ends is determined, where the upper half is drawn in section and the lower half in view.
1 with the smooth end of a hard tube is referred to, which can for example consist of steel. On the pipe end of the pipe 1, a sealing cone 2 is pushed up, which has a certain, but not too great plasticity. A suitable material for the sealing cone 2 is, for example, vulcanized fiber, hard rubber, lead, synthetic resin and the like. The front end of the pipe 1 and the front end of the sealing cone 2 lie against the front end 3 of a pipe 4 to be connected to it. A conical sliding sleeve 5 made of metal is pushed onto the sealing cone 2.
The thin wane dig executed sliding sleeve 5 has approximately the same wall thickness over the entire length, and it consists of a metal BEZW. a metal alloy that has a high tensile strength and a certain elongation. A suitable material for the sliding sleeve is, for example, steel, unalloyed or alloyed, or a copper alloy, or an aluminum alloy, or any other metal or any other metal. Alloy in question, which has the properties mentioned above.
The sliding sleeve can also be given a coating which consists of a different metal than the sliding sleeve. Against the rear end of the sliding sleeve 5 is a shoulder 6 of the nut 7, wherein between the conical sliding sleeve 5 and the conical bore 8, a gap is present. The union nut 7 is screwed onto the externally threaded end 9 of the tube 4.
Between the sliding sleeve 5 and the front end 3 of the tube 4 an inter mediate space 10 is provided to a. Firmly push the sliding sleeve 5 onto the cone up 2 by means of the nut 7 to enable. The thin-walled sliding sleeve 5 experiences a certain stretch when it is pushed on, so that it is put under tension.
This expansion is slightly larger on the side of the smaller diameter, since the sealing cone 2 BEZW on the side of the smaller diameter. the smaller wall thickness has a smaller compressive strength than on the side of the larger diameter respectively. the greater wall thickness of the sealing cone. The arrangement described ensures that the sliding sleeve 5 exerts an approximately uniform pressure over its entire length on the sealing cone and from this on the pipe wall.
This pressure remains constant after it is pushed on because the thin-walled sliding sleeve is under tension. Tests have shown that it is possible in this way, for example with a steel pipe of 32 mm inside diameter and 34 mm outside diameter, to produce a sliding resistance between the pipe and the sealing cone that corresponds to approximately one fifth of the tensile strength of the steel pipe, i.e. the pipe is opposite the sealing cone for sliding after the internal pressure is about 120 atm. reached.
The sliding sleeve 5 can be made in a simple and cheap way from a cylindrical piece of pipe which is compressed towards one end to a smaller diameter or expanded to a larger diameter. The conical sliding sleeve can also be produced in such a way that a cylindrical pipe section is expanded towards one end and drawn in towards the other end by being compressed.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, 11 denotes the smooth end of a hard tube onto which the sealing cone 12 is pushed. At the front end of the sealing cone 12 there is an inwardly projecting edge 13, against which the end of the tube 11 rests. The front end of the sealing cone 12 lies against the front end 14 of a pipe to be connected to the pipe 11. Res 15. The conical sliding sleeve 16 sits on the sealing cone 12, and the union nut 17 rests against the end of the cone, which is attached to the external thread provided tube 15 is screwed on.
Fig. 3 shows an embodiment where two identically designed, smooth tube ends 18 and 19 to be connected to each other are easily seen. A sealing cone 20 is pushed onto each of the two pipe ends and touches one another at the front ends. Each sealing cone has an inwardly directed edge 21 at the end facing the opposite sealing cone, the edges 21 covering the ends of the tubes 18 and 19. The sealing cones 20 each carry a conical sliding sleeve 22.
Against the rear face of the sliding sleeve 22 of the pipe 18 lies a screw-in part 23 provided with an external thread onto which a union nut 24 is screwed, which rests against the rear face of the sliding sleeve 22 of the pipe 19. The overall lengths of the sliding sleeves 22 are shorter than the overall lengths of the sealing cone 20.
