Process for the preparation of a quinoline series amino compound. It has been found that quinoline sulfonic acids in which the sulfo groups are in the pyridine nucleus can be converted surprisingly easily with ammonia or amines of the aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic series which carry at least one hydrogen atom bonded to nitrogen. The reaction is expediently carried out by heating the components, advantageously with the addition of a condensation agent.
In this way, aminoquinolines or aminoquinolines are obtained in excellent yield. their N-substitution products. Compared to the previously known method of preparing these bodies from the corresponding halogen compounds, the present method has the advantage that you can work in all cases, even when converting with amines in an aqueous medium, and that the conversion reaction can be carried out at low temperature, where through the formation of undesirable by-products, especially the corresponding ogychinolines,
is largely avoided.
This patent now relates to a. Process for the preparation of an amino compound of the quinoline refine, which is characterized in that the quinoline-2-sulfonic acid is heated to higher temperatures with an aqueous ammonia solution.
The 2-aminoquinoline obtained in this way shows the properties given in the literature. It is intended to be used as an intermediate for the production of dyes and pharmaceutical products. Example: 6 parts of quinoline-2-sulfonic acid, which can be prepared in the usual way by boiling 2-chloroquinoline with aqueous sodium sulfite solution, are mixed with 25 parts of 25% ammonia with the addition of 1 Part of zinc chloride heated to about 13.5 C for several hours under pressure.
The 2-aminoquinoline crystallized out after cooling is isolated and obtained pure from FP 12'7 C after recrystallizing from water.
